Anyone else do this? I forgot all about the server cap cause i got up extra early to get in then I log off for work and come back to full servers. Probably won't be able to get in at all for the rest of the day then right?

It wasn't a mistake. It's other people sitting there idling AFK keeping you from logging in right now.
You are the reason why people can't play. Just log out, you had your fun. go to the movies or something.
Yes, Low server capacity + people like this who stay logged in = others cant play.
Yea I was thinking the same thing too, before I went to work I should have just went afk in the inn XD. Guess I'll have to wait till 3a.m. or 4 a.m. in the morning to try and login again.
The full servers and afkers are an evil cause-effect circle that SE has to break somehow.
I too logged out earlier to go eat lunch with my fiancee :( I knew I shouldn't of, now it's full. /angryfist
Personally I don't think it would make as big a difference as people say it would. It would help, but not enough to really fix the issue. The problem is that Squenix simply didn't prepare for the amount of users that they should have anticipated, since they've had the preorder numbers for months. Infrastructure takes time to set up, and it sucks that they're going to have to work around the clock to get the game functioning properly, but the harsh reality is that the people in charge of their network infrastructure really blew it.
afk kick, an actual server queue would help alot. that and raising the server caps
"Log Out. Give others a chance to play" Can anyone see how ridiculous this situation is if we have to make these kinds of posts. A MMO is a game where you should be able to play as long as you want, whenever you want. The fact that people have to beg others to log so they can play is ludicrous. The next thing you know, they will be allocating time slots for people to play. Take heed Yoshi, all the good will you built up over the past 2.5 years has been destroyed over the past 16 days.
This is absolute BS!
I guess no one's actually reading his post? He said he logged out to go to work and now can't get back in.
I'm in a similar boat. Played for about 2 hours this afternoon, came back after 3 hours of class and now I can't log in. Probably won't get a chance since it's about to be peak hours soon anyway. =/
I certainly don't blame people for idling so that they can actually play the game they've been looking forward to for a while. Now that I actually have a good chunk of free-time too, bah.
Getting mad at the afkers is silly. They aren't the problem. They're just a symptom that was caused by the disease that is the NA/EU data center.
i didn't have a choice...game crashed...than bam...server full try again.
Hi.
I am on the Hyperion server. If I am able to log in tonight.. I wont log off till next week.
Thanks.
:)
I'm fairly confident that this whole limit thing is temporary; but God forbid we play nice and be considerate to one another by logging out to let another player in if we have something else to do. How easily we forget our own frustration trying to log in.
Yes, ideally we should be able to do whatever we want but this clearly isn't an ideal situation and people who idle AFK for hours are only making it worse. Just sayin'.
Community, people. I have hope!
They need to fukin add a Q timer, Its stupid just to get kicked!
So whats the best way to get back in, spam start button? that doesnt seem to be working
I should not of logged off this morning when I went to work. (~_~) been hours since got off of work. Worked the hardest I ever have, even the boss man said so. All so I could play some FFXIV. Server Full...
If things aren't fixed in the next say... 12 hours, pretty much every single person who buys the game tomorrow will not be able to play. LOL...
Yea im seriously rethinking getting the game because of this exact thing, i get off work and try to relax and play and Goblin is full. Its bullshit and SE expects people to pay for something that you have to wait to enjoy?
I didn't have to work today so i got in a good run.
So I logged out.
Have fun!
Personally I think about staying logged but since I have a slightly older mobile video card, my room will be forever noisy and uncomfortably hot with no AC on. But that's not the main reason. My main reason is that there really is no reason to just randomly go AFK for No Reason, so I log out and hopefully a poor soul can get a few hours of game time in while I come back and whine at myself for being a goody goody and logging out. But you know what? I see it as letting someone else get a chance to play while reminding me that well it's a game and there are other things I can do.
Just logged out on Hyperion. I hope whoever takes my spot makes good use of the time.
Seriously though, people like the OP are part of the problem. Yes, it sucks that server populations are capped and that we can't all get onto the servers we rolled on at the same time. It sucks that there's a wait. But people who try to "beat the system" by logging on and idling afk for the duration of the day while they're at work/school are being ridiculous. It's an exceedingly selfish point of view that promotes that behavior, and I, personally, am glad for each of you like that who can't get in.
Protip: Don't log out and enjoy the game after you're done with work.
^ This ^
You all have it backwards...
You think:
SE sets lower player cap -> The kind caring anonymous people of the internet remove their spot so that others have a better chance to log in. -> Anon is generous by nature
Reality:
SE Lowers Player cap -> people AFK so they can have a spot when they get back -> even more people get blocked out causing them to do the same thing once they're in
