I have friends and family that cant play, or make characters on the legacy server me some other family members are on. Im pretty sure im not the only one that invited friends and family members to come pay with them.
I think its ridiculous that little Japan gets 25 Servers While America/Europe/Mexico/Canada/Australia/New Zealand share 25 servers. This is the biggest reason why the north american servers are full.
Please SE make additional North American Servers/Legacy Servers and allow us to have free Transfers again. Its only Early Access and players cant play on servers they want. What do you think is going to happen on official release?
Its Crunch time, something needs to be done. Im going to be disappointed if i cant play with the people i invited.

They can probably make additional normal NA servers, but I doubt they can add more legacy servers, since legacy servers are where the original characters were in the first place. At least until they start implementing transfers.
At any rate I know Yoshi apologized and everything, but it would have been nice if he said what they were going to do to ensure everything works alot better this evening/tomorrow at launch, instead of just "certain lobby servers had been improperly configured".
Not really comforting that he's still sticking to the restricting log in because of heavy server load. The load just get worse as more people come into the game. -

At this point, I believe SE has realized that their game is way more popular than they anticipated, but they also do not want to add servers, just to have them abandoned after the free month. It's a shame, because the game itself is fantastic, we're just limited to how many can play it at once. You could have had a great thing here, SE, but you're choosing to squander it. The damage has already been done with EA and now the apology letter. Player base would have decreased anyway, but this is the wrong way to go about it.

The fact that people are unable to even logon and get in queue is RIDICULOUS. It is NOT ACCEPTABLE to just say "sorry, we're restricting the number of logons" and not provide us with information on what you are doing to REMEDY the situation. As far are technical implementation, this EA period is FAR WORSE than 1.0 and definitely worse than any other MMO I've played - and I've played virtually all of them. You should be ashamed that you used this as a way to promote your product. Very poor showing.

I haven't had much issues logging in, I'm just hoping my sister can get on soon. She said a lot of servers have been opening up for a little bit....just not Leviathan. We didn't realize we picked a popular server! We're hoping that it will open briefly before tomorrow so she can at least get her character on that server.

I would rather have dead severs and mergers in a few months than waste all my free time not being able to play the game. Who cares if there are mergers at least you're playing and still get to play thereafter instead of playing something else and paying for the game you are not playing.
At least when population dies off you can merge simple solution instead of saying.... "ehh i don't care if you login for the next 1-3 months, thank you for your money though." -

not 100% sure but its more about data center capacity at this point then server capacity. It does not matter the number of servers you have, overall it is capped not just by the server level, but in the data center as well. The data center capacity is what is getting hit with duty finder and such issues, so untill its adjusted to handle the load even with more servers same number of people can get let on.
They are improving each day, and will continue to. If your this impatient and so easily angered with such things you should know to NEVER play an MMO in its first few weeks as it takes a bit to polish everything out. -

I'm really not affected by this issue, partly because I expected queues in the first few weeks and partly because I'm EU therefore the servers aren't on a huge strain at the times I log on. I do think though that if they continue these login restrictions they are going to have a lot of complaints come tomorrow. If somebody actively goes and buys the game tomorrow, they will expect to go home and play immediately (as they should). If they then create an account only to realise that they cannot physically create a new character on any NA/EU servers then they will start complaining and probably get a refund.
I myself don't mind empty servers and actually think they are better than a full server in most aspects. A close-knit community is much better than a community like WoW's for example. I find them to be much more friendly and accepting because they're the ones who actually want to be playing enough to stick out the tough times. Saying that however, I think bottlenecking the servers is entirely the wrong way to go about these issues and will only cause a lot of drama over the next week/month/however long it takes to stabilise the servers. -
