Woke at 5 am gmt, tried to create toon on moogle and guess what, its still locked.
I doubt at this hour, at monday, there is at least that many players that during weekend. Yet, the server is still closed. Guess they pushed "no more toons here, period" switch....

other servers are closing, opening, closing, opening again for char creation, yet moogle and 2 other na servers stays closed. So for me it seems like there is no mechanism for controling population, just simply switch for no more toons, buzz off somewhere else, leave your friends, boyfried, etc.

I have been waiting the same 2 days to make a Toon on giglamesh where all my other friends are we have a group of 45 there 5 of us cant get there. We where the ones who could not make it to beat P4 for same reason now locked out. so this has been more like 5 days locked out.
I would like a dev response here what are going to do when the real launch happens or weeks down the raod when we have more friend to join us on these servers.
you going to say sorry go play on other server where you have no friends waiting for you. FF mmo's are about team play. right now you are telling people to bad go play solo. -

You could roll on another server for now and use the server transfer later on.
That way you'd at least get to play for a bit even if it wouldn't be together with your friends.
Some servers like Gilgamesh may remain difficult to get on to because various communities decided to make their home there.
I don't understand the reasoning to go for a server that was known beforehand to be very high population as very high population inevitably means it becomes difficult to get on there with new characters. -

I have been extremely frutstrated by how SE is handling all of this. There is NO official word how long the lock will be in place, or if it will even be lifted. No official word on transfers and if we can transfer to high pop servers when they open up. Ugh customer service like this disgusts me

let me play by myself and hope for a maybe server tranfer that I will have to pay for. I paid for this game so I can be with my firneds not on a server solo.

In this same boat.....the stupid thing is, I HAD a character made on Gilgamesh before they locked it. I didn't like how it looked after I saw it in game and moved around and deleted to remake.
Worst. Mistake. Ever.
A total of less than 5 minutes in game and I have yet to be able to remake my char on Gil. And I see the mass opening and closing of several other servers as well. -

The main thing is they have not saidanything about new servers or raising the cap. What is going to happen in 20 hours when the game has the offical launch day. Even more people will be creating new toons on the same servers we are trying to get on why becaseu that is where there LS mates are. just to have a dev response be make a toon on a lower pop server as an answer. and again right now I cna make a new toon any all servers but 3 and we all know what 3.

Same boat here, my guild is on Leviathan and its been locked for 2 days. I can't understand how they didn't plan for this and include a way to invite friends to your server. I, also, will not be playing an MMO by myself. Everyone I know is on Leviathan.
As for the person who says "why did they choose a high pop server?!?" we generally like to be on high pop servers, because the community is better and its easier to find raids, recruit for guild, etc... In every other game I've played, you just had to expect a QUEUE to log in. This stupid game doesn't even have a queue. You're suppose to control server load with a queue, not by locking the whole damn server out of character creation. Stupidest decision ever, whoever decided that was a good idea should get fired. -

For me a single statement - "we wont open moogle till monday" or "yes, we introduce character transfer in one week, one transfer will be free" would save my day.
