Bye, we wont miss you.
And the rest of us rejoice for another that would only cause problems with their fellow players are gone.
Honestly, if you get this upset over what happens during the first week or even first month in an MMO, the game is better off without you.
My girlfriend was not available today so I broke up with her.
If she is not available right here, right now, there is not point continuing right? No matter how awesome she is (was...)
haha goodbye ;)
Edit for Nedhitis:
yes, I am all for helping new player, anytime and our server (Masamune) is awesome, full of great people
But the threads are a bit overwhelming, hard to stay so positive lately :(
but definitely wont cry for people who are like "There is problems right now so I cancelled the game, you should do the same", it helps in no way
want the success of FF, if we went through 1.0, we can get through this starting mess, can't we?
might sound like a white knight (maybe I am even if I hate playing Paladin) but I really think those thread are futile
apologize if I shocked you but take my original post with more humor ;)
Edit 2 to Elreed (yeah can't post so much hehe):
I know buddy, I feel you. It's annoying not to be able to play when you specifically paid more to play earlier. And the lack of communication from SE is not helping but unfortunately I don't think there is much to do for the moment apart to wait and see. Not sure what else I can advise... just wait until they sort things out.
And your signature literally says "Spread Love - Help New Players - Cure Anybody needing it - Reinforce the Community - Make FF14 the Friendliest MMORPG - We can do it ^^".
FFXIV's community, ladies and gentlemen.
But the consequences are the exact same: people cannot play the game when they want to. I do not see the point on stating an irrelevant difference.
Not even day one. We're on early access...not even proper launch day. Rough or not rough, that's just what happens. And you're already cancelling. XD Okay. HAHA
Lets see, I bought and played 1.0, played 3 phases of ARR beta, oh and was a LONG TIME FFXI player, so not sure what you were talking about here...I've been dedicated to FF MMO's since day one of XI, Day one of XIV, and now day 1 of XIV:ARR. This game is amazing IMO, except for the server issues.
it's not about launch day or early access, it's about these being the EXACT same issues from phase 4, that they said they fixed, and yet, here we are again. Either they lied to us, or they have no f*cking idea how to fix this.
I didn't have any problems in Phase 4, although I was only able to play sunday and didn't pay attention to the forums...
Some people have lower tolerance levels than the general population.
Others just needed an excuse to stop gaming.
And finally, some people just like to throw a tantrum when they can't get what they want, when they want it.
Take your pick :D
you guys keep saying goodbye good riddance to these people but what happens because they leave as well as others do? sure your game runs smoothly for the short time SE keeps the game up and then cancels it because it costs more to run than what it brings in.. sorta like v1.0 so maybe don't be so quick to kick um in the ass on the way out. You may think that will not happen but did they have the same thought back then?
Just because the NA/EU servers are being severely overloaded ( im on a jp server, theres a huge population difference ) doesnt make it a crappy game,
however, you have chosen to leave instantly, thats your decision, because you werent sure if you were gonna play in the first place anyway.
Good luck in your endeavors, and take care
I will be still here because I've gone through far worse than this. and played games far worse than this as well.
While I get what you're saying, people like this won't stick around past the first 30 days anyway, so they are all but useless to SE. The ones that you're talking about, and are important, are the ones who may complain, but they stick out their free trial and then maybe picks up the game again in 6 months when things settle down.
I would rather have a small community of players who are patient and understanding, which may say a bit about their IRL character, than a larger community full of brats. See World of Warcraft General Forums. So if enough players who are tossing a tantrum go shoo away to another FOTM MMORPG, that'd be greaaaaaat.

I really don't mind if people quit, just means my queue line is shorter. The servers are FULL, I don't think SE has anything to worry about regarding short term revenue stream with these numbers. Since the connection problems will go away due to lower population or more servers in a week or two at worst, the game will most likely thrive as there are no significant issues once you are playing.
But really, the number one thing that bothers me is this knee jerk need to post to the rest of us, your peers, not SE, about your hate, desire to quit, actual cancellation, etc. What purpose does this serve? A desire to not feel alone?
I wonder how long the'll stick around the forums after they have cancelled, lets keep an eye on them and call them out every time they post..
im not cancelling, im just mad because they were over confident, I played 1.0 from start to end even after all those issues in the release, those were even bigger, but they didn't learn the lesson, I would have preferred a buggy beta phase 2 and 3 than a buggy release, its so weird that in those 2 betas the log in and game in general was very smooth, they moved something or who knows what they did after transferring the characters to the new servers....
Seriously, users with the name GiantDongAlert with characters named God Mode will definitely not be missed by me. Ppl get mad at other ppl who "White Knight" for SE don't seem to realize how impatient they're being. The whole "SE had years to fix this!" argument is moronic, since this is all but an entirely new game compared to XIV 1.0. Yes, all these server errors are frustrating, but it happens in nearly EVERY MMORPG or simple online game. I bet a week from now, people will begin to forget all about these errors. I'm tired of these self-entitled pricks who want perfection on the first few days of PRELAUNCH. Go ahead. Rage quit. More room on the servers and less morons ingame.
Wahhhhhhhhhh I can't play because they are working diligently to fix all issues for us wahhhhhhhhh somebody change my diaper because I couldn't wait to use the toilet wahhhhhh ect.
Tired of all these crybabies either whining about an error code, not being able to log in or crying about gear that has crap stats because they're BUSY stabilizing the game, it's not the end of the world, you spent 40-70$ on a game they spent 72 million, I'm positive they will answer all of your issues in due time, go back to wow or hentai or w/e you do with your time if you don't like it ffs.
Me being a FF11 player can tell you this game is a dream for me, everything we couldn't do in FF11 is now in FFXIV and in time they will make it more rewarding to hardcore gamers, they even said so, yes better stats, lern2read dev posts.
I'd say I experienced an 80%/10% JP/NA server up-time. If everyone wasn't so hung up on location location location and their buds were really buds, everyone who couldn't get in would be playing with their buds on a Japan server and would have experienced a good population, no queue's, and 0% duty backlogs.
You must have really broken calculator then ...
From initial 48 hours of EA (until today morning) less than 12 hours were maintenance (3+3+3+2 if memory serves me well + lets say another 1 to get back on after maintenance if you were on one of the popular servers - about 15 - 20 max each time at least what I've experienced) which results in about 75% uptime for NA/EU server and about at least 90% for JP ones. Considering that all the maintenance times were known in advance the time "off" could have been used either to explore via JP servers, eat, sleep, walk take rest. I'd hardly managed to play more even if the servers would be running 24/7 without a hitch. Was it frustrating at times to not be able to login right away or play with the friends? Sure it was. But all and all - I had a great EA weekend together with my friend and I look forward to jump back in today after work for one more last EA night session.
Im far from saying "it was a last straw" and rage quit, but SE is testing my endurance early on - when their battle for constant flow of my coins to their accounts just started.
Same was with SW: Old Republic, same was with Age of Conan, same was with Warhammer. Those games failed big time.
Saying that game has right to have "baby sickness" as some posted on this forum is truely outdated - for example old republic had almost perfect start - sure, there were queus, but no failed - "log on later noob - when? dont ask us lolz!".
I realy love FF series - i can even call my self "zealous fanboy" of ff vii, so im giving this game a chance till i see end game - end game will decide everything. If it's failed or unplayable - i'll be out faster then a fart traveling in a closed car.
With regards
I paid to watch server in maintenance and see errors on login attempt. And was quite a show! I enjoyed alot, dunno what is all the rage.
Don't worry you will be back in a week or two. I'm pretty sure by that time everything will ease up.
I waited and got in today to finish up my level 5 and 10 class quests so I can craft now. Patience young grasshopper. And before you ask I never got to play more than an hour this shoes EA before this.
