Three things Square must do before August 27th.

This isn't a rage topic, I'm not crying that I can't log into the game, and I'm not going to ragequit and get a refund for 30 lousy dollars.

Anyways... It appears that most of this shit is coming from the large amounts of players trying to log in on the NA/EU side (obviously) cause JP isn't really having these problems.. probably because there's less people all trying to log in at once.

However there is a few things Square hasn't done but they must do to sort this crap out...

1. First and foremost, what most other people have been saying on here... ADD A QUEUE. Just anything rather than that screen telling us the world is full, I'd much rather be waiting in a queue of 2000 people then having to go back to main screen and repeat. This would solve alot of problems.

2. Add more servers, I'm sure they can. They MUST before 27th, there's obviously a lot of people trying to play this game, and lets face it.. servers can only hold so many people.

3. Free transfers to the new servers that you add. Not free transfers to any server you want, that's how particular servers get overloaded with people. So if they REALLY want to balance the population out this would allow that to happen. Many people do not mind moving to a new server as long as they won't have any issues/all of their friends can transfer as well.

I strongly believe that these 3 things can solve most of these issues, and the in game issues that we were experiencing yesterday (like the instance bug) was most likely coming from server overloads.. So it will go a long way Square.

These suggestions would alleviate a lot of issues people have with the way they've been handling things.

That's what it seems like most of these errors are coming down to. Population control, I doubt Square will read this topic but ill do my best to keep it up there.

i think they just need to add more servers and give ppl free transfer to server they want. keep it simple. oh trust me SE if ur servers are full is because u are going to make ur $$ on this game, probly much sooner then u think.

All three are valid suggestions. I'm particularly for a queue, this current vague 'please try again later' thing is utterly ridiculous.

u mean a queue that means everyone says logged in and never logs out, means u dont get in. That would be ridiculous " your queue is 1,000", 8 hrs later your queue is 1,000.. just adding more space in the server maybe easyer, or kick ppl off the server. or simply just adding 10 more servers and making ppl switch.

what's really funny is that SE knew that most of their consumers were NA/EU so why not put more there than in the JP ones hello. they need to make much more servers for the NA/EU because the current population isn't that much at all compared to what will happen to release. thank you for listening. ^.^

The thing is, they were only able to add the new servers so quickly during P4 because they anticipated it. They said it themselves. They basically had these servers all ready to go and only needed to flip a switch to add them to the list.

It's different this time. I don't think they genuinely thought they needed more than 50 worlds so it will take time for them to add new servers, if they choose to do so at all. Again, the issue is that half the servers are overloaded (NA/EU ones), yet the other half is underutilized (JP), so they're sitting on a lot of wasted space that people don't want to use because nobody wants to join a "Japanese" world.

If they don't add new servers, they need to abolish the silly JP/NA/EU labeling system so all servers can be used by all players in the world without the psychological barrier. Most people won't ever even notice the latency difference.

First of all i dont think u ever Read their Maintence.. THEY HAVE A QUE but due to login limitation Queueing is out of the question...

Like the OP to try to get more attention to this post. Square listened during the Beta's I don't think they'd mess that up now by trying to ignore us.

I think that picking one post to run with will help a lot. I posted my thoughts on G+ as a community share site. I'll add this link to that post for people to come here and Like as well.

Additions: I think that trying to move large communities to a new server will be beneficial. So maybe target large free companies for the transfers. It sounds like people picked server names they liked and a lot of people picked the same ones. As such, some servers are heavily congested, per YoshiP's apology, it sounds like there are some servers that are still low pop. So properly spreading out the population that they have will make things better as well, I believe.

I like your idea and yes, Yoda's voice did pop in my head when I read that.

Certainly need to do this (all great suggestions) because NOONE is going to want to pay a subscription to not be able to do anything and even dedicated fans like myself will eventually give up.

During phase 4 I thought excalibur was over populated. I don't have EA but by the way everyone is making it seem like you can't log in at all. Kinda worried about launch now later tonight. Not flamming the game or anything because I still love it but they really should of made phase 4 alot longer to test than just 3 days.

Regardless of adding new servers, I personally am STILL stuck trying to get ONTO the server that my friends are established on. The SOLE REASON I purchased the game was to play with friends, not to sit there OVER and OVER trying to get onto the server they are on. The character creation screen tells you to ensure you are creating on the server your friends are on.

I don't give a crap about issues with early access or down time. JUST LET ME PLAY WITH MY FRIENDS!!!

Establish a queue, auto log afks.. idc. Do something. I haven't been able to do anything since p4 beta with my friends because worlds have CONSTANTLY been locked out.

Aug 27 isn't going to magically clear up all this. You're going to have even more people wanting to play with their friends.. and when they can't?

What was the point of 4 beta tests and early access if not to stress test and figure out how many people are going to want to play? Yes a majority of them will move on but I have no desire to see my 30 day play time vanish because I cannot play with friends.

I only purchased the game after beta because I assumed things would stabilize. I was completely and utterly wrong.

Exactly, thats my issue right now too. I don't know they can just LOCK you out of a server, and "wait for an opening" how the heck can you wait for an opening when there is never one???
At least let these people create characters in a queue. So eventually you WILL get into the server with your friends.

Why wouldn't they? Apparently they believe that everything is running fine and dandy. As I've previously stated, it's not like it's going to change tomorrow anyway. So I'm stuck here listening to friends that are able to get on worlds talk about it, while I sit here out of the loop as I have been since what? Sat?

And as far as adding more servers goes thats funny the reason they are not is cause when the rest of the people who didnt preorder get in they want to open up a bunch of new servers so the late comers have a place to start where they are not behind..... Instead of rewarding the people who gave them $ early on (ohh and dont try to say "well you got a head start for yer early investment" cause i sure as hell didnt cause i cant f%^king log in)

Their current queue system is a complete joke. Look at games like WoW expansions, I remember playing Lich King the night it was released, I was in a 6000 person queue on Illidan (one of the most popular servers in the game). But I still ended up getting on.
