Where does it say that in that link? I didn't see any mention of it
Where are you seeing this. I still see the 27th with the mogs in the pic on that site.
*edit*
POST LIMITS!! WTF
Anyways..
SIGH.. As long as they're gonna be honest about where our money went (paid beta), I suppose I can get on board and test the ever living fuck outta these servers for em without being too mad. I mean, the longer this goes on, the more our EA value goes up anyways, right?
Authenticator.
That would be a smart move.
I guess it seems that way, this isn't going to look good for SE websites already mentioning the login errors and disconnects and other bugs. Phase 4 should of been 1-2 weeks as planned. As they say "never count your eggs before they hatch"
At the bottom of the page under the "Early Access Begins" poster, it lists the end date for the EA period as the 29th. Obviously us preorder/legacy folk are basically paying to bug test the worst servers in the history of horrible servers.
"Early Access Period
August 24, 2013 (Saturday), 2:00 a.m. to August 29, 2013 (Thursday), 11:59 p.m. (PDT)
For details on controls and game progression, please refer to the Play Guide(http://sqex.to/Rf3).
For those of you who have played FFXIV 1.0, please review details (http://sqex.to/_EB) on transitioning to A Realm Reborn transitioning to A Realm Reborn before playing."
That's what it says on my screen at that link. Followed by almost 200 comments of people wondering what on earth is going on...
The 30th is when you have to have your game registered or your account will be shutoff.

That article seems to say that early access is:
August 24, 2013 (Saturday), 2:00 a.m. to August 29, 2013 (Thursday), 11:59 p.m. (PDT)
Edit: That explains it.
I believe the OP is talking about this: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...cfe40c90154d51
The end date for early access is designed to overlap with the release date of the game a little bit to compensate for people getting their packages late. The early access code only lasts until a certain date, at which point you need to have either a retail code or one already activated from 1.0 to continue playing. EA lets you continue playing until the 29th so that you have until that time to register your retail code.
If they didn't do it this way you might get the following:
Game ships on the 26th
Early access ends on the 27th
You're locked out of the game until your package arrives on the 28th
I imagine that physical copies have already been shipped to stores. If this is true, what are people buying the game on Tuesday going to do? Install the game and twiddle their thumbs for a few days?
I'm pretty sure what it mean is that people with early access can play till the 29th without a game registration code. It's like that so you can still play if your game doesn't arrive on time on release, this has been said before by a dev. >.>
