How is there an error 1017? Has SE never heard of a queue?

What is this junk? I don't think it's smart to release a product without basic conveniences.

Error 1017 is starting to piss me off, I've been locked out for 5 hours.

Beyond unacceptable honestly. And not a word from devs

Its painfully apparent they added the 1017 to lock people out completely as their temp fix, or else their queue that they promote all the time would be working.

Pretty annoying to come home from work and see this -still-.

Beta 4 understandable, hell even launch day, understandable. Now this is getting ridiculous, i dont know anyone that thinks they deserve more of our patience.

I think the queue may have a cap, 1017 is probably players that don't fit into the queue. I've managed to get in a few times but when I get dc or log out for a while I'm finding it difficult to get back in again.

It's frustrating, but there isn't much we can do about it. I have faith SE will find a solution to it soon, the game is worth waiting for, I'm sure you'll all agree. ^^

In trying to fathom the depths of SE's mind, I considered that, but no, there is no reason they need to create an error for locking out logins. A queue is enough. Someone logs off, someone logs in. They can set the threshold lower, so that even if you're #1 in the queue you might have to wait for 500 people to log off because the limit has been changed. In other words, this is just an inconvenience, plain and simple, to make it easy on SE so they don't have to create and/or maintain a functioning queue system. Because they don't give uh fuwk.

Agreed, this is beyond ridiculous. I don't mind waiting for maintenance or a que, but what the hell are we supposed to do with this? Better off just having instance servers being down that completely locking out people form doing ANYTHING.

I just got placed in queue of 200 player, for about 15 seconds then 1017. FU SE

edit that was after an hour of non-stop 1017 so I was pretty stoked to get in the queue.

Well there is that and then there are the people who never (yes still) received their pre order code...
I would have hoped SE had made 500% sure that nothing went wrong this time.

I have been really positive until now, but this "early access" has actually been really buggy and it's not good considering how bad the launch of 1.0 was.

I was just sitting in a queue, 43rd in line and when the queue was going to update I got the error. Are they still experiencing issues with duty finder and the sort from yesterday?

Edit: I logged in, got the loading screen and promptly got a message saying that the connection to the server was lost.

Who needs queues when you can enjoy the endless fun of trying to login for hours.

I doubt it has anything to do with a cap, as far as im concerned its just messed up.
After getting the 1017 for 2 hours i finally get into a queue... only 32 too (you would expect a bigger number no?)... After a minute or so in the queue, a new window pops on top of the queue window giving me the 1017 BS again. Closing the 1017 window sends me back to login screen.

Why did i get the 1017 WHILE i was in the queue? Thats fubar.

I was able to get in and play perfectly fine for about an hour and a half earlier today ( around 1:00pm-2:30ish pm EST) Everything was working fine, i was able to do my instanced quests that i couldnt do yesterday. A buddy of mine came over, and tried his account and he was locked out 1017. I tried my account again right after and was locked out as well :/

After trying since around 12:40 cst and getting nothing but 1017, it finally sat at the loading screen....for about 30 seconds, then I got hit with 10102 -.- by the time I get on today, it won't even matter lol >.>

Yes the game was worth waiting for but now that I have paid for it (twice i might add) it is just unacceptable that I have only gotten 2 hours of play time in the past 2 days when this was a huge selling point for them and now they fail to deliver....strike 2 SE.

After hours of 1017 I actually got to the loading screen and actually fooled my self into thinking I was getting to play.

Error 101002 and then 90k connection to servers lost. LOL

What I dont really understand is how Japan (1 country) have so many servers and then there is Europe (more than 1 country) and America (more than one country) all squeezed into same amount (ish) of servers... I just dont get the logic behind this.

They did have a queue system, and for some reason it's not working now, either it's bugged or they turned it off.

Horribad Horribad service. I mean I am very hopeful SE fixes this problem but really this is getting from bad to simply horrible. I've been trying to get into this game from last night and still no dice. Its a complete waste of time and a day. SE honestly should be trying harder to communicate with the community. Its almost as if everyone (outside of Japan) is simply being ignored.

People need to Relax... look maybe SE needs more servers... If you have too many servers the game looks empty.. to little and you have these issues with server load.. Your damned if you do damned if you don't..

Also people are saying wow had a bad release 10 years ago... well yeah 10 years ago with cartoon Graphics.... this game is pretty cutting edge graphical wise..

I just got into the queue at spot 480... went to a loading screen... just to get a 10102 error. I've been locked out pretty much all day and am getting frustrated beyond belief. Now I'm back to the 1017 errors. This is insane. I have played, maybe, a total of 3 hours for the entirety of the early access period. I won't play much tomorrow as I have to work... and I doubt I'll be able to log in tomorrow either. I love playing this game... but dear god.

Here's hoping they extend the early access grace time until past the 30th, now, because as it stands, most of us haven't been able to play due to errors and/or bad codes. It wouldn't be as infuriating if I didn't know that some people are happily playing while a large percentage of us are scraping at a locked door.

I find it funny all the people complaining about a issue that every single new mmo bar none has had in the past 5 years.. Its early access servers not official release. AFTER that point yes if its not solved then its a big issue. But until official launch their following track with every other company.

Way to point out the obvious.

I think people have the right to be upset. I dont agree with the "WE DEMAND A REFUND" posts but certainly this is a time to feel slightly upset.
I have been lucky, I actually got some gametime out of this. I was Legacy so I didn't pay anything extra for it anyway.
My bf however bought early access and never got his code, my friend managed to just about log on once for 30 minutes until he got kicked out.
We have been out, I even went to another country yesterday to do some shopping, but I am still a bit annoyed.

I'm both disgusted and disappointed with SE. For god's sake, we've had 4 stages of beta, and yet they haven't fixed the most obvious problem. Square Enix, get you damn act together...

I was fine for 6 hours today. 6 hours. Then I received the eternal black screen of doom and was forced to exit the game, after which, to my displeasure I found I couldn't log on because of this ridiculous nonsense.

I'm all for limiting the amount of new users on a server to prevent overpopulation, lag, and the type of Duty Finder problems we've been seeing, but locking out the server's current population is not the way to go about fixing the current problems we have.

I'm allowed to be upset when I was promised a certain time period of gameplay before actual release. Considering "Early Access" was included with their sales pitch for players to even pre-order the game and purchase it. You may have the time to go out and do as you please as anyone can but not everyone has the same time frame of being able to play as others. Its very upsetting. People merely want more communication from SE than feeling ignored all together. Claiming "Emergency Maintenance" doesn't mean a thing if there are players still playing and others are still locked out hours on end with no further updates.

my whole enthusiasm to start playing this weekend has gone from HAPPY :)
to ANGER in a matter of 29 hours. I have not played for not even two hours consecutively before, being kicked out by errors, forced out by maintenance, or sitting like an idiot watching the intro movie over 20 times...
Im so disappointed right now, i dont know how to feel anymore. SE PLEASE JUST STOP everything FIX IT and then go back online... quit doing everything HALF ass, people are already pissed off. Take the servers down, add new ones do what you need to do and open shop again :)

Many of the people in my FC getting 1017 are showing up in-game in FC list. (hours after they were kicked) It's similar to 3102 without the 3102 error.

1017 for me as well. I have been trying to login constantly clicking on it for 40+ minutes with no sign of something different.

I think they limited the amount logged in at a time now to like 1/2 or 2/3 the amount of what they allowed before. Its the only thing they can do to stop them from crashing it seems. :(

I hope Yoshida has ordered some new hardware because come Tuesday those servers are gonna get SMASHED.

I gave up after about 4 hours of getting this message, while casually trying to log in. Yes, I'm upset. Beta 4 should have been longer. But I'm just gonna come back to the game tomorrow or Tuesday night, and hope a fix actually fixes something.

I'm pretty sure the queueing system was broken by the update they did earlier. I finally got popped into the que and there was only 12 people in it, after 15 minutes of 1017 errors.

they pushed launch back to Thursday apparently? At least that's what I read on the front page about early access being till thursday now.
