The server is full, try again later (1017)

Excuse me? The server Cerberus (EU) just came back up from maintenance, and the first thing that happens is that it is full?
I dont even get a que. I feel like I'm scratching at the door like a wet pup. Let me in!

Same on Sargatanas but now it's back to can't find the world list.

SE could you please at least put me into a queue, rather than just the repeated server is full message? I don't care if I have to wait an hour or whatever, I can go make a sandwich.

Same problem here, except now NA/EU server went down for me again, yet my friends are online playing

now i get the error before i even hit where it says stat >.> gettin real annoyed of how it seems to keep degrading the more they do maintenance

well the maintenance isn't meant to finish till 16.30 GMT

so perhaps waiting till after that time ?

Why does it say the servers are up when it can't even retrieve the world data? I'm terribly confused.

One of the special notes in the launcher states they artificially limited the login rate after the emergency maintenance earlier this morning. Its probable that this is still in effect and is the cause for 1017.

I dont even get the chance to see/pick my character... It tells me the world is full BEFORE i even tried to log into a world... *head -> table -> repeat*

Sad that now it is based on a first come first serve status in order to play a game that everyone pre-ordered the same way. SE is really letting a lot of people down and it is almost like they are throwing in the towel and saying to us "deal with it". How can we go from have a server queue to none and just getting kicked out of the character screen? How is it that every time they go to fix a problem they mess up something else that was fine in the first place? Do these people not know what they are doing? They knew the amount of people that pre-ordered and had access to play the early access. How they are not ready for this is beyond me. SE better fix their shit or they will be refunding a lot of money back to people that expected it to be in release mode for us. This is worse than beta... Game releases in 2 days here in the states so I suggest they hurry up and fix it. As of now I am telling people to wait until buying it.

Funny how this error of 1017 in any other game is called a Queue. "Whats that you say Steadfast?!?!"

For most games this is represented by a numerical number in line. Like the way you filter people in a butchers shop, or possible a line for a game reserve.

Oh but the Hamsters of the NA/EU servers cannot handle that kind of stress. So naturally the only logical thing to do is not let them. I'm sorry but this is the only issue that bothers me. I don't mind the error 9000, I don't mind the shaky server stability. But I loathe a simple line or queue not being prevalent.

I have this error as well as my husband.... I wish we could have the que system back... Hell I`d rather be 2000+ in que then to spend another 30 minutes manually trying to log in just to keep failing.

Guys, if you look at notes under lodestone it SPECIFICALLY says that login limitation is in force while they monitor server load, yet only 1 or 2 of the posts in this thread has people putting 2 and 2 together and seeing that these errors are INTENTIONAL for now, its a precaution SE is taking while they monitor load.

So instead of getting all annoyed saying this maintenance has fixed nothing, please try to understand that this is working as intended for now.

I got Queue 17 let me wait for 5min or so then tells my world full. Now can't even bring up NA/EU server list at all :(

It doesn't work as intended because half the time, you can't even get the server list.

How in the hell am "I" suppose to know when an opening becomes available???

Okay, so servers go live at 17:30 GMT! Its currently 18:15 GMT so we know that is not the case. However, the post was followed with this;

So... Great! The servers will be live one hour sooner! Except we know now, they're offline... But why would they apologize for bringing the servers live one hour sooner? I think that they meant 18:30 GMT but made a mistake. Its a long shot, but possible!

Edit - Well its 18:30 GMT and... I'm in! Looks like I got it right :D

If they need to take the servers down to fix it properly, then do it. But these repeated issues are killing me.

I don't like how vague these errors are, I know they're limiting the logins into the world but I don't like that I have to wait for an opening when I don't know where to look for an opening. Also when I wait to try to get in but it says its full and it takes me back to the menu screen, I wonder if I lost my place in line. :\

I Wonder if they get hacked. In beta it was stable ... (950k beta application + Legacy = lots of people) or maybe there is a lot more pre-order than I think. But anyway it's sad that I can't take advantage of my early access.

yea same thing on hyperion.... and gets worse.. somtimes there are no servers present or worse it just empty space.. SE needs to just bring it all down and start over!

I either get that lovely 'World is full, no, you don't see them up. We uh... we're holding this party see and that invite you got is for, uh... later, yeah!' error code or my NA/EU server list decides to flee whilst the going is good. I wouldn't mind, I took a nap after the third maintenance when I couldn't get any of my quests to load or instances, came back, found another maintenance, went to make food, maintenance supposedly ended and now this?

...Alas, my dream of being a WHM floats further and further away...

I started a char on JP servers since they keep shutting down NA servers, lol.

If I were SE, I'd be ashamed :( "new engine and all of these improvements over FF14 - Sure...but what the **ck good do they if you can't play the game or log in :(

Really, now? The issue has been adressed? I still cant reliably bring up the NA/EU data center, and I get the 1017 error a 100% of the time when trying to log in. How is the issue adressed?

Diabolos having this issue too. It's getting really hard to not be pissed at this "early access". They need to put a darn queue up and stop this darn error from just showing.

Guess I'll try again in a couple of hours. I can't even get to the server list let alone the character list. At one point I was in my character list and was 52 in the queue then I got kicked out to the start page with a server full message. Every once in a while I get an empty Character Selection page then get the server full message which takes me back to the start page. This is very frustrating. I'm wondering what's going on because queuing to a full server would be preferable to being kicked out to the start page over and over again, which leads me to believe there is more issues than the world servers being full since we can't even get to the server listings.

I should have gone with my gut instincts and waited a couple of weeks after launch before purchasing the game instead of being enticed with early access. This is such a waste of time. Yes I expected problems, but not at this magnitude. All I've been able to do is create a character and complete the quest to get into the adventurer's guild so I'm at level 1 with out even an avatar face for the forum *sigh*.

What I hate more than not being able to access/play a game I've paid for is...

People who keep saying "They've put a limit on the servers to monitor stability" <----Like it's the perfect reasoning for no one to bitch and carry on with our normal day.

A little tip: We've paid for the same game as everyone else, which means we should all be treated the damn same, the fact it's whoever gets in first gets to play while the others can't even access the game is a complete joke.

I'll give them until tomorrow, if it's not fixed I won't be sticking around because if they can't handle the population at early access, then they will never be able to handle the masses at launch.

The lack of a login queue for this "login limitation" is what annoys me most. That's what the login queue is supposed to be in the first place. There is no way that takes up much processing unless they screwed that up. If they had THAT working right, it wouldn't be so bad, worse when it booted me from a queue a few times when one DID pop up, and finally getting in? Black screen of death, right back into a 1017. I'm willing to defend SE on a lot of things, including these issues, but seriously, again, this is what the queue is supposed to be for and its obviously still in place to some degree :/

I was on queue for Cactuar after about a minute it went to black screen with error 1017 server is full. Now when I try again, I'm not placed in queue it just go right to that error 1017. Please fix this.
