To all the ppl defending SE and bad service

I was 1.0 player when majority left 1.0 i left also and game died.
It happend cos majority of ppl got pissed not minority that defendet se so if u whant to suport them maby u should ask for special server where only SE defenders will play so when game dies second time they dont should u out,
I Rebought the game for 3 days early acces and as it seems right not i will only play till 9 sept .... AND JUST U WAIT till STREAMS START Streaming errors there goes ur player base down the drain this NDA is for reason here when the basing of ppl comes on all the news site gg . It is not minority that counts in mmos it is majoity and if u lose them u lose the game. GW1/2 Neverwinter Tera Secret World SWTOR FFXiv 1.0 all had ppl like this die hard defenders defending crap service ... Enjoy

I'm not sure I understood the post. But I think it is important to remember that not everyone who plays posts. It is probably fair to suggest the majority of players do not actually post. It is likely only the vocal majority, and often those with displeasure, who post.

It is sad you wish to go. I do not understand your reason, but if you are not happy playing this game, then obviously you should not play ^.^ Hopefully there are enough other people who enjoy playing.

Haha, another guy who's world has been shattered because there are server issues on an MMO launch...

No MMO launches perfect, ever. It always takes a week or 2 to stabilise. If they could make a great game out of 1.0's client (think 1.23) then they can solve the problems they currently have.

This is not 1.0, FAR from it, I was also there at 1.0's launch, although i stayed with it cause i knew it would evolve, which of course it did (it's a MMO, after all). 1.0 didn't fail because the servers crashed on first week, 1.0 failed because the engine was bad, so bad that even at 1.23 there was stil a lot of lag, but it was playable. Server issues on a MMO launch are NORMAL. Why can't people realise this. Give them a week or 2, all of this will be history, just like 1.0 is history.

Well ye grama police is def needed realy pissed , i go to sleep ealry cos maintenenc just to wake up in one and it is sunday then cant play for 3 more hours ... I like ffxiv bought it twice if they continue this it will be same as games aboive i enjojed also swtor until bad service made all the ppl go away..

It doesn't take a genius to figure out what he's saying. What the OP is saying is essentially this: White knighting for SE in spite of poor service is not helping SE make a good release. OP is concerned that the many problems we've seen so far will go public in a big way, and this could lead to another failed launch.
He makes a pretty good point everybody's missing in this: people might broadcast streams of all the instability and errors, and this could paint FFXIV as an MMO with crappy service. That's a legitimate concern. His lack of proficiency in English makes it no less important; he's a supporter of the game and wants it to succeed.

Still, anyone, may it be regular players, hardcore or casual alike, streamers or people watching streams, if they leave because of server issues in the first 24 hours of a release, they are, excuse the term, stupid. It is an MMO, and like every other MMO it has a rough start. Maybe extending the Open beta could have helped, but an open beta still has only a fraction of the player base that is coming on launch, and those problems could've arised afterwards again.

If people want to play an MMO from the beginning, they need to understand that every MMO launches with server issues. They will be solved, give them time!

Well, from what I can tell, game wise it's fine - 1.0's launch didn't have anything for people to do really and god, the LAG was a killer. Now when you're able to connect to the game server, you're able to run around fairly well. Which I think is a good thing. Compared to dropping through the world, getting killed by the forge, and being chased by Freeport guards after my woodelf defected from Qeynos in EQ2 ... Compared to riding a suicidal taxi-horse in LOTRO ... game-wise, this launch isn't bad.

I agree with Drakan. Launches will have issues, specially server issues ... even NASA has launch issues. I'd say wait a month for things to calm down a bit when the "free loaders" decide to leave the game. Then, judge how happy you are with the game.

Sure, being unable to connect is frustrating, but take a deep breath and do something else that you'd enjoy. It beats stressing over things YOU can't really do anything about. Stressing over such things only gives you wrinkles and grey hair.

First impressions are important. If new players find it too frustrating to play, they might not play long enough to enjoy the game and stick with it. That's a problem for ALL of us.

Launch day will be even worse. SE should have expected and prepared for this. It's not unreasonable to expect stable servers, and that's not what the world will get come launch.

It really is kind of unreasonable to expect stable servers with such high and immediate traffic while at the same time being almost all new infrastructure. Not that you shouldn't be frustrated as a paying customer, far from it, but history won't change just because you throw money at it.

I know it's a dead horse by now, but Blizzard had much worse stability and long lasting errors launching World of Warcraft then what we are experiencing here so far and queue most successful subscription based MMO for the last decade and counting. Of course we are still in the launch window and all this is subject to change and potentially nose dive, but generally speaking this really is not that bad.

Having or not having skill with language, particularly writing, is not an automatic indication of intellect. There are many exceptional individuals with learning disabilities, such as dyslexia. The truly foolish ones are those that scoff at a person's writing proficiency without bothering to evaluate the insight contained therein. In this case, the OP wrote poorly but was attempting to communicate legitimate observations and concerns.

I have an adviser with terrible writing skills, but he never fails to provide me with great observations and advice. I'd be stupid to ignore him simply because he struggles with writing ability.

Nevermind, I will be nice...

I'm on the fence with SE right now. I understand that launches come with problems, but when something is said to be adressed and servers are pulled for hours multiple times, and nothing changed... So i'm not going to say lets burn em down! or but it's launch! because they are kinda doing some shoddy work somewhere, be it communication or gameplay. They ARE still responsible for the problems that occur in the NA datacenters , regardless of location their name is attatched and they can't pass blame. Error 90000 was said to be fixed 4-5 times already, and it still exists. Maybe they do get the problems solved in a week, maybe they don't.. only time will tell. I hope they do, I really do

This post has caused an error #90000 with my brain.

I'll be paying for the maximum duration they allow, for three service accounts. I'll be doing so as soon as it is available. SE needs our support right now, not a flood of trolls decending on them like locusts. Although I really love the game, I'm actually hoping this continues until most of the trolls rage-quit. The only purpose they are serving, is to make the forums a huge pain to browse due to overloading.

So, I think we all know things happen and executing a perfect solution for every eventuality is not going to happen. The problem is that the administrators of every level of this game seem to just accept that fact to and assume we'll cry ourselves out like a fussy infant. The matter that I think S.E. needs to take into consideration is their lack of communication. I enjoy their game, FFXI being my first MMO I actually am okay with paying a sub after playing this for the first time Saturday and even with the bugs. What makes me question if this is the best place for my money is the fact that somehow my preorder box price couldn't pay an intern for 3 hours to simply post: "Hey guys we know there's a problem and we're working on the solution." on every damn medium that person can find much less their own forums. Maybe even go so far as to say something about the preorder numbers being higher than expected in the last few days before early access and turn this into a positive PR spin.

S.E.; you're losing the perception battle here. You could have the highest paid, best trained, most competent, and hardest working people at all levels of your organization working on this right now, but without articulating anything, not one of your customers is going to care. How much higher is your first sub drop off going to be if most of your NA/EU consumer base feels neglected even if they're not? Can you still be profitable with 50% loss? Will your investors accept that when the situation is easily rectified by a couple of comforting words from your lowest paid staff member? Seems like a silly trade off to me.

TL,DR: S.E. needs better communication to articulate awareness of concerns; right now the perception is that they don't care.

So what's your suggestion OP? Do you think that us whining and complaining will magically fix the servers faster?
