I used the profile work around to get it work rather well on the benchmark but was unsuccessful in doing the same with the actual game.
Has anyone been able to get it working correctly or has there been any word when an official amd profile will be ready?

CrossFire and ATI are not supported by FFXIV afaik. They only seem to support SLI and Nvidia cards. Probably because Nvidia cards have much better architecture than ATI cards have. ATI cards almost always give off problems like this in my experience with them which is why I use only Nvidia now. However, all that aside, I get over 200 fps with a single card on max settings. Crossfire or SLI is not needed.

not a single reason to even use crossfire or sli unless u have 2 seriously cheap and underperforming videocard. A 100-170$ video card can run this game at max settings w/o any slow down

Sorry a GTX 650 will not play at max settings with everything turned on with anti aliasing at 1920x1080 and maintain a constant 60 FPS at all times.
An AMD 7970 (the equivalent of a GTX 670 Nvidia) plays the game at max settings at 1920x1080 at around 45-60 fps at all times. At 5760x1080 it begins to struggle a bit at max, staying more around 25 to 45.
However, with two of them, I maintain 45-60 FPS so crossfire is working.
This is assuming heavy traffic areas, not being alone in the wilderness by yourself staring at the ground..... btw. -

You should start looking into cleaning up your PC rather than adding more junk to it if you're only getting 30fps. -
