oh wait no its not  90000 , 2002 ???
It launch! If you didn't see this coming its your awakening. Every MMO is like this. One of the better launches in recent memory to be honest.
or they could have given beta more than 2 days at phase 4, instead of pissing away early accesss and our money for a launch they knew would be this fail especially after how not ready the servers where during beta
Phase 4 shoulda began at Aug. 9 for a week then scrummy out the shit later for a week, would of have plenty of time. Nope, do things the last minute.
At least SE shipped out codes better than Phase 3. They're getting better.
PS. We paid for EA. This wasn't free, it was apart of the deal and included in it.
Shit happens but Christ. It's always NA with problems, sometimes EU, but JP is rockin' on a gold platter. They're still up.
Sorry for the rant but ugh. I wanna play! =_=;
I have to say, apart from a few teething problems with the EU/NA servers (which is expected for launch of an MMO) I don't think this is bad, yeah it could be better, but I am patient, I know that ARR will be the game that FFXIV should be, they just need to iron out a few kinks first, its day 1 of Early Release, and although the errors are there. They will be fixed, do you think that Square are going to let this go, No, they spent enough money on the game, they NEED to make it work.
We can expect many more errors to pop up during the first few days, if not weeks, if you didn't want to experience these error's maybe you shouldn't have adopted early?
Did you specifically pay for the Early Access? Did you purchase it separately from the game that you had intentions to buy and play on the 27th? If you have, then I am afraid you have been had, because I got my Early Access code for Free, I PAID for the game, not the early access, that was just an added bonus.Quote:

me I am v1.0 so I get upgraded but I actually purchased another copy just for EA. yes I can cancel but i am a collector like hard copies. Just feel beta should have lasted few more days, week at most iron out the NA probs abit more. These was the things asked in beta forum posts too.
i got it for the MOOGLE HAT =)
the apologists note pad:
its only alpha you should expect these things
its only beta you should expect these things
its the launch you should expect these things
its not even the first big patch you should expect these things
its only the first year you should expect these things
its only the first decade you should expect these things
its only a month from servers closing you should expect these things
@dukedudeson, did you pay for Collectors Edition?
Gotta laugh at some of the folks who think they paid extra for early access. Nope. You just pre-ordered silly.
Honestly this is a win win for me today. If the game is up, I get to play it. If it's down, I get to pop some popcorn and come to the forums to feed off silly rage from people who clearly have no clue how this stuff works.
It really is just early start though. im not being apologetic just understanding that this is a mmo and happens. Also in any online game between all the data being compiled and sent and everything programming code is always subject to "break" hence why people have the attitude that it is "x time"
Now if server log in issues like this are a problem a month in then yes we do have a problem. but if in a month in its something like... jump on some random rock in dungeon x and fall through the world then yes its still new. with every expansion, new content patch, and change to code things always have a chance of being affected in some unforeseen way.
The problem would be if they were willing to way a month till the next big patch to fix these errors. the fact that they are updating continuously on twitter for status as well as fixing it as soon as they possibly can find the error and write the correct fix in shows they are both being professional and upfront.
Could be worst... could be like SOE with SWG - oops we cant figure out the programming lets delete some entire classes. or EA that would wait a month to fix anything
gotta laugh at those who know so little about financing they think they didn't pay for it. when you pre order you give the company money to work with prior to them having to hand over the product with thousands or tens of thousand of pre orders the interest alone makes a tidy sum not to mention giving the company a ton of capital to work with to put out its product without having to bankroll it themselves. maybe you should go back to school you missed a class in economics obviously.
Like I said. The bonus is apart of the game pay. We're pretty much in official release.
We paid for the game, the EA is apart of the game. So we do have a right to complain or give 2 gil... but whtever. Nothing you can really do at this point in time. But the amount of White Knights are annoying.
It's like SE can do no wrong in general.
This is my first time in a MMO launch, and even subbing a game so -Shrugs;.
I don't think so, I just think it was in all in one deal lol.
Figure i'll watch a little pre-season football, drink a few beers and come over here and laugh at all the complaints. ten in about 45 minutes jump on the game and keep on keeping on!
This seems to be a pretty smooth release from my point of view. Going through other horrid launches like SWTOR, Warhammer, or Rift, this feels like things are being done well. The NA/EU servers may be have some problems but things like emergency maintenance just means they found a problem and are fixing it. No big deal.
actually you are both slightly right. its a marketing gimmick to get you to order in advance so that they can generate revenue beforehand. So long as the game is released for those that pre-order ahead of time (EA) then they fulfilled the gimmick. They promised you would be able to access the servers before launch. hopefully between x and y days. they didn't promise how many hours or minutes per day just that they would release the game to you to access there servers early.
The same principle is used in the subscription. you aren't paying for 24/7 support for the entire month but to be able to use the servers throughout the month. they don't promise what hours or what days just that it will be available to use from the first day of your subscription to the last day more or less. y
are people really this misinformed about buying something advertised as a pre order with XXXXX promised to those that do?
if you bought the item prior to its release with the promise that if you do you will recieve (whatever) you have in fact payed for the (whatever) was promised by the seller.
the price could be reduced and you'd still be paying for both the (whatever ) and the original item as advertised by the seller. I'm starting to think it'll take posting the relevant consumer laws to stop people posting legal misinformation about a purchasers rights in regards to pre orders.
Cat the thing is did they not release to you your copy of the game early? I sure have had it released to me. Have they had the servers up early so you could access the servers early? I have played today so I know they have. Im not saying I am pleased or happy that im in the forums instead of working on ifirit, or getting closer to lvl 30. but it is what it is, and this isn't us getting ripped off... We did pay for early access which was granted to us the rest is a toss of the dice...
Early Access was given, they didn't lie, they didn't hold back. But with any MMO part of all the agreements you agree to before logging also includes notice that the servers can be pulled down without advance notice, that you aren't promised 24 hours a day etc.
When I preorder a game it's because I know i'm going to enjoy the game, or get value out of it. I don't preorder a game i'm unsure about because it gives me a few extra bonuses. Games are expensive enough as it is, so I don't just preorder willy nilly. IF people are preordering a game they were *unsure* about for the bonuses, well capitalistic darwinism at work folks.
I have no qualms with companies wanting to stack their cash up front. Pay off debts before interest adds up, put in interest bearing investments etc etc. The sooner you get your money, the faster you can grow it as a company. But that doesn't mean i've paid a premium for early access. I just preordered a game I'm going to enjoy and would have preordered it without early access anyway.
Who said anyone paid premium? O_o
You gotta admit it's unfair we're sittin' here twiddlin' our thumbs while JP is having a grand ol' time.
I kinda wanna get crap done since this is the only weekend I got off of work. :C
Oh well life ain't fair. qqweepchan.
So when websites I went too, said "Pre-Order" bonus, it wasn't a pre-order, they are charging me for Early Access too?
So surely the price of the game will go down after 27th? Because Early Access isn't available so they surely can't charge for it???
Of course JP is ok. That is their home. It seems like they enjoy making us squirm.
Rift was not a launch with no issues... and no the price wont go down. its the standard price you just get extra features for ordering it before others..
Well, from 1.0 SE can't be making now screwy mistakes. People are going to say something and then occasionally bring up 1.0.
They pretty much need to be hittin' on nails perfectly from their major bomb out on the original. This is already deterring people.
:/
RIFT maybe be one of the better launches as well, I was not there for that launch. But I'm just saying its a good launch, not the best launch.
