 Early access and not been able to play in beta 4. All the people i know from 1.0 and friends who have joined to 2.0 have created their chars in Moogle and now it seems to be not possible.

I'm in the same boat, going to play here with friends but haven't been able to make a character. Just checking on it every hour or so while doing jobs :(
I'm not sure how long they were open for, I logged on when servers opened, made my character then tried to enter but they were closed. So cant have been open long.
But I agree, really no need to be stressing out over this, server is full just wait.
One thing I don't understand is why creating new characters is closed for the people that did get in. Not like we can play multiple characters at the same time.
Considering Moogle is constantly under a login queue or even 'server is full' (like right now), adding MORE characters to it would be a disaster, unless they can buff up the server capacity. (And I really hope they can and will, or start offering free transfers from Moogle to a less crowded server)
The problem is that im an EU player and i cant create any character in any EU server... so what... i have to play in the NA servers???? what kind of joke is this
They didn't the right thing.
There was a bunch of EU players and SE let them choose their servers per comunity. And at least French and Spanish community choose Moogle for sure, and I've seem a lot of italians too. UK players are mainly going for Moogle too. That's just too much... But it has a cool name and a lof of communitys choose it, so now there's a problem. SE should have guide those comunities with a rational distribution and not let them handle theirselves.
Now a lot of people can't play where they want, not just because of friends but also because of language issues and because they can't be with the free companies they already joined in forums, waiting for the game, and some of them will leave the game because of that. It just screw up the plans for manny people.
Bad move by SE.
They could try to handdle it offering free transfers soon for some days and trying to led some communities to another less populated server.
I live in spain i cant cope with NA time its like 7 hours less, i got the collectors edition and i cant even chose an EU server... i bet you understand why im mad lol.
atm im playing in Exodus because i can only create in the NA servers..i thought it would be fixed by today but i dont see the point of playing now because looks like they are not going to fix it and really im not going to play in NA servers unless they promise me a server tranfer in the next couple of weeks.
Yeah, well, by "guide" i meant something like set recomended servers per comunity, in wich case they would have made their plans with that in mind. Not just close some servers so they can't enter where they planned to do...
The real problem with this server is it hasn't come at all over the head start weekend. Others come up and go down but this one has been shut from the word go.
There are a lot of people at the moment sitting and waiting to go play with there friends, and they are sitting there hoping Moogle will be open at some point over the weekend.
I can understand limiting payers sure, but just cutting off players permanently forces unfavourable judgement upon Square Enix.
I have two friends waiting for this server to come up, and have been since servers have come up. The Free Company I'm is also has players all waiting and getting very agitated on Teamspeak.
There are other methods to this, possibly not as brutally efficient but would have been better received.
I can't link up with guild on this server this is ridiculous. SE u need to fix this asap or u will be having people quit already.
I'm playing on cerberus atm on my own but its not the same.
Quite so, I'm waiting for quite a lot of my friends to be able to roll on this server, it's quite frustrating.
This is a real joke. Get a real queue system rather than blocking anyone from creating characters on the server - a botched attempt at a solution. I have multiple friends who have been completely unable to play the game during early access due to this, and with launch tomorrow there's still no signs of the server being opened up for character creation. Asking people to roll on a server with none of their friends/guildies is NOT a solution to the problem - people bought the game to play with their friends, it's not a singleplayer game.
Hi Luci :3, agreed this is now a bit of a shambles and is only going to get worse tomorrow, they need to bring back Friend Codes from FFXI, if a person on a server buys a pass in game they can give it to their friend and they can create a character on that world, invite only per se, a half decent queue system, auto AFK kick after 30 minutes (some of the rushers who are now level 50 havn't even logged out besides when getting kicked for maintenance, which means they've been on afk for hours while they sleep) and free server transfers off the server and things will be a lot better.
Last night at 2am I think they accidentally opened up all the EU servers for character creation, so I quickly created a character on every EU server. I've only got to level 25 on this toon and Moogle is where all my friends are playing, so I think I'll just ditch this one and start from scratch there!
Hello Moogle! ^^
Let's face it ! SE failed on this ( and i'm on Moogle ).
4 serveur with a capacity of 5000 people make a pool of 20 K players just for Europe ? Really ?
So they planned on selling only 20 000 copies of FFXIV ARR only in Europe ? with the V1 player base that's a mistake.
And i'm pretty sure the pre-order were high above that number .
Some gaming site fortold this was gonna happen.
I'm not angry ( sorry if this post looks like it's an anger post , this is not ) , i'm disapointed with the servers of thig game.
Game is awesome, really. What an amazing work the development team has done ! THIS , is a final fantasy (finally, sorry i'm an old school JRPG fan, i miss turn by turn based rpg )
And a free server transfer would create too much work for the dev team , considering an already busy schedule i guess ... sure , kinda.
Please SE triple the number of EU and NA servers
and Instanced server dev team is already working on that (latency should be better Hurray !).
5000 x 4 isn't too bad it's about the same for many other MMO's, take in to consideration that it's also concurrent connections, the amount of characters per server is far larger, regardless the physical amount of Servers should be added to with tonight's maintenance, which will also improve the amount of concurrent connections at any one time
The major issue at the moment is the lack of an AFK time-out, which puts us in a position of having a server full of AFK people who won't log out incase they can't back in due to more players logging in and going AFK, it's a vicious circle.
Yeah , afker is a problem .
But Moogle is full atm , so full that some of us who already created a char on this server, can't log in. so we'll have to reroll on other server .
Plus, they're gonna re-open the sales of copies. I'll just hope they're going to add enough server to fix this problem.
Which is what I'm explaining, the server is full because people are not logging out. It is possible to create new characters on the server. Tonights maintenance will improve the amount of concurrent connections to the server, which will let more people log in, it remains to be seen if this will make a substantial enough difference and give the AFKers enough confidence to log out and hope they will be able to get back in, we'll see.
Free servers transfers and an AFK timeout will be the next logical course of action if we don't see an improvement tomorrow.
