Gilgamesh locked?

Is it going to be unlocked soon? All my friends made there characters on Gilgamesh and I can't. So how do I play with them. Since I bought the game to play with them? Is it going to be unlocked anytime soon? ive been refreashing for a hour,

If I could get insight. Am I waisting my time refreashing every 3 mins to try to join any of my friends on the server? They are all in and it's still locked?

They've been locked now for over an hour, I don't see them opening any time soon however who knows, there's no communication from SE regarding the server locks and it really is a complete and utter BS move on their behalf.

Should have just used a queue system.

yea. did they even say why we can't just que and wait it out so we at least have characters with our friends?

Seems they didn't learn mistakes from the previous beta where alotta servers are locked early...

Will Gilgamesh stay locked for ever or only while there are too many people logged in?

not sure man. but this is very annoying. first time on a launch that I have been locked fro ma server with my friends. wow had ques 10 years ago wgile SE is nononono can not play here.

the other annoying thing is not one dev has answerd any question to when the lift on server restrictions will happen. there is no reason to have server locks so early on game is not even 2 hours old and 6 new player servers are locked. What about the people who have jobs and can not log on untill later tonight while there firneds got on the server now he can not join them.

You DEVS need to fix this now. we pay to play this is not a free game. So no reason to have server locks.

If they had free world transfers and I could to them within 2 weeks that would be ok to say play on a low pop server. but when you 18 friends who are playing together some have level 20+ toons with gathering and cratfs on a server allready, can not really say go play somewhere else without thy firneds. FFXi was all about the adventure with your fiends going fomr one place o another. I dont care I can cross server dungeon. I care that I can not play with my friends on a server that os locked right from the start of launch. That is just insane, I paid to play the game with my firneds not solo on a server away from them. SE just dose not care and will not fix this casue they do not look at this as an issue.

So basically are we gonna have to wait until the end of the day to get on the servers we want (if were lucky that is) if so that means losing a days worth of early access time :( ugh

Hey, if any of you are interested in keeping us updated as to the character creation block so I can pass it along to the rest of my FC, that would be awesome! :cool:

I will try but I still have at least 10 of my friends who needto make new toons with the other 12 on gilgamesh allready. This is very stupid we all wantedto be on same server we had in 11

Yeah, it has been very frustrating to our group as well. There are a few big groups joining, and causing the huge congestion issues it has. Going to be a really high pop server. We want to hang out and be a part of it though, so I just keep telling my company mates to hold out. They should be opening it throughout the day.

been 4 hours and still not one slot has opened up. Might have to wait untill people are out of the starter zones before they open it back up. could take few days. So then that means early acess was for nothing.

Early access is more or less just cosmetic anyway, but hopefully when everyone gets their chance a lot of us will be pretty skilled and have everything going!

Gilgamesh was locked this morning by the time I logged in around 05:45 (not even an hour after launch). I spent all of Beta 4 waiting to join friends on Gilgamesh too, but it was locked then too.

It annoys me to see other servers locking and unlocking as I refresh every 3 minutes.

It concerns me that servers were locked in Beta 4 and are still locked during Early Access. (Early Access IS launch day, even if it called by another name.) If the server is locked for people that pre-ordered, then where do you think it'll be when the game opens to everyone that didn't?

It angers me that SE seems entirely unresponsive. They don't seem to see server access as a problem, I guess. . There was a thread on the beta forums of over 400 posts regarding the server closures, with no SE response then either.

Now this isn't my first launch (or beta). We've all come to expect queues, crashes, bugs, and angry forum posts. This'll be my first time not even being able to create a character on the server of my choice (joining the very friends that talked me into purchasing the game) on the first day of launch. I'd actually rather be stuck waiting on a 4 hour queue, at least knowing that eventually I'd get to join my friends on the server.

Also loved that I had to create a character on another server just to post on the forum.

if i don't get early access ill be wanting some money back for that pre-order... i work 12 hour days during the week and specifically pre-ordered to try it out on the weekend. This is frustrating as hell i at least want to make my character and then que up and walk away to do something but sitting here and clicking refresh every 3 minutes is all i can do?! can SE at least respond or make some kind of post regarding this issue instead of saying tough shit wait it out?

It's progress, but it's at a snail's pace, it means people are joining the other servers at least.

any word when its going to be unlock?

Right now maintenance until 2pm EDT. So I suggest everyone try to get on as soon as you can if you want in

All but Giligamesh, Leviathon, and Moogle open at the moment.

Square-Enix, could you please communicate about this situation. We are many players in this situation and would like a clear answer about what to do.

at 4am central it was online, and my clan got to make their toons, it took myself and another a lot longer to make our charactors since we didnt play beta. We didnt make the 5am lock... its been locked since then, and that is not fair at all.

SE don't care about this, they don't respond on tweet or on forum. We lose only our time and nervs for this game;/

Yea I heard that after some search about gilgamesh server. I've made a ticket on the square-enix support and in-game. Tried to call two support number but no answer. This is so frustrating! I won't ask all my guildmate to change server because I cannot make a character, they are already lvl20+ and want to go clear end content.

While the ticket system wasn't great from FFXI I'm missing it right now. That would at least get people on the correct servers to play with their friends/guildmates. Staring at this character creation screen is really starting to s*** on my Saturday.

Bump, square enix do something please this is taking so much time.

It is pretty unfortunate that so many groups of people are getting broken up by this. Given the whole nature of this game I would hope they provide some solution. I've got a friend that's been locked out since phase 4.

I know tensions are high, but please watch the language. I have no idea why a word filter didn't pick your language up. =\

It's locked to control server population. When too many people migrate to the same server they must give incentives to others servers to make them more appealing. Unfortunately, that appeal is "hey look! No wait!"

I don't necessarily agree with that mind set, but I see why they do it. I picked my server purely because it was open at the time of character creation. Just have to wait for other server populations to go up. I think if everyone would create characters on other servers, we could trick them into reopening the one we want.

There were at least a few ways I can think of that would have prevented the frustration of not being able to create characters with friends. Why not make an early online Link shell invitation. Register a link shell with all your guild mates and the system could place you accordingly on the correct server to boost population? Why not initiate a character creation queue? So you at least have some kind of time table when you could join your friends. I find it ironic that during server select it says to make sure you select the same server as your friends! I've spent 17th Aug, 18th Aug, and today hitting a server refresh button in hopes of making a character with my friends. I can assume I've been very unlucky but luck should have nothing to do with a service I pay for.

The starting zone is probably ******* big ! Server is lock for 12 hours now !

1. I know why they r doing this but they should told us they r going to give us a character transfer in a week. That way everyone in my guild having the same issue will join another servers and we will be able to play the game.

2. They dont even answers us !?!?! Don't tell me everyone at Squaresoft is not working on weekend even if it a LAUNCH day !?!?! They should have wait Monday in that case
