Any new tricks for dealing this with error? Fiancee still trying to get in.
Hace you tried firefox?
Tried all three and fixed the hidden language issue in user settings.
They better fix their stuff, or they're going to loose out on a lot of subscriptions. I pre ordered this back in July... :(
Hit F5 and put the code again. Eventually will work.
Been at it for a few hours now, still having the same issue regarding error 3 with no visible sign of improving.
Same here. Been at it for about 2 hours now. This is really frustrating.
Tried 3 different browsers, been trying to get the code to work for nearly an hour. All I've been getting is Error 3. :/
Check your inbox and junk mail in case you was sent an e-mail. Also, the way I did it and it worked everytime for me... delete your cookies/cache (I use CCleaner) Good luck guys!
All I can say is that I paid good money for this a long time ago, first the service was unavailable, and now this. It's absurd that paying customers should have to experience situations like this.
This is the reason I stopped playing FFXI after 6 years. Why would you sell a product that doesn't work? And then sell a revised product that has nearly no support? Not good for business.
To make matters worse there has been little to no correspondence from SE, and this is obviously a significant problem. If I miss one moment of early access, SE won't see another dime out of me.
Slightly frustrated here.
I'll try the cookie idea
Been having this issue with my wife's account as well. And unfortunately I wasn't paying the most attention while trying to get it to go through, and processed her PC pre-order code as a PS3 code instead, which of course went through instantly. I find it weird that their pre-order code system will allow a user to pre-order a PC version (29.99) and apply the code to the PS3 version (39.99). So now I either have call SE up and try to get it fixed or dump another $30 to get the version she needs to play the game. This feels so backwards.
Just to report in, also have a friend who is getting Error 3. Changed language and no improvement. Also took note that it took a few times to change the language to English (US) as it kept reverting back to English (UK). It's taken the change now but still having the Error 3 issue.
Edit: My friend's problem is now resolved. Likely due to server congestion. Took him around 2 hours.
i was getting error 3 for a while then found i was entering it wrong
Error 3 shouldn't be an issue at this stage of the launch game. Why isn't there's an update on a fix or official word on a code transfer.
What was it that you were entering wrong?
sigh... this isnt a good sign
Well I give. I'll just get my money back and wait to see if Enix fixes this problem. Just like them to be cheap and lazy on their servers.
That was one of the first things i tried, still no luck. Been getting Error 3 for over 2 hours now.
It took me a while this morning trying to get my own code to work, finally switched over from Firefox to IE and while there were some minor hiccups, once I was able to enter the code it went through the first time.
Now I'm trying to help a friend out and I can't even get past the log in screen on IE. I guess it's because of all the congestion, but it won't even move onto the code input screen. I can get past the log in screen using Firefox, however now all I get with FF is Error 1, saying that there's a problem with the code... even though all the boxes have check marks next to them confirming the code is correct. I give up. And it's not the language thing either, as the friend I am trying to help was trying to get the code to work for a while now, using the language fix, and IE but all he was getting was nothing but Error 3's.
I've tried:
- Entering the code in Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome
- Clearing the cache/history
- Using "Private Browsing" to ensure everything was fresh
- The "language setting" fix to ensure it was set to English (US)
- Making sure the code is correct
And still getting this Error 3 message and have been for the past 2 hours. I'm guessing at this point it's a "the site is getting slammed" issue and won't clear up until the site load drops.
I have been at it for 4 hours and I have not gotten thru.. i suppose I will try until EA starts
This is extremely frustrating.
lol i could try to do the code for you guys but that takes alot of a trust i dont even need your account to get a 20 digit code for ya all iw ould need is the pre order code to give it a try
now the website all together isn't working. Still getting that error 3 code. I think either 1 the site just crashed or 2 they are finally fixing the issue
Error!
We've reported it to the team.
Try again?

I got Error 3 for about 30-40minutes before it finally went through.. Only to give me a Code for the Incorrect Region so.. Woooo Go Error 3 Fixes (not.)
I too am suffering from Error 3 and have been for the last few hours after being on the edge about getting involved in another subscription based MMO. I have tried both Chrome and IE as well as multiple computers.
Normally, I am a reasonable person who feels the need to point out that this is the release of an highly anticipated game and we should all chillax and wait until they fix the issue. However, I find that I am on the other side this time. I do not have much time to play and I was eager to get a bit of a head start on a character and just level him up slowly but surely. While I know this doesn't exactly change anything I did kind of put this weekend aside to get a character to 15 or 20. So, the fact I just paid for this and am un-able to use the code to jump into the game is quite aggravating and to be honest I expected more from Square-Enix as I know this isn't their first MMO and they must know the requirements on pre-launch and launch days.
Hopefully this gets solved and I can play a bit tomorrow. Good night and good luck everyone.
Trying to put an EA code in again for my cousin with the error 3 showing up for about 3 hours now. I have already successfully got mine in previously 2 days ago; so I know the ordeals you once had to go threw. This time around, it seems like the "preferred language" setting is indeed resetting itself to a blank no matter how much you try. Along with obvious heavy traffic just trying to attempt to input the code itself. Knowing SE, I don't think this issue will be resolved within the first day of EA.
I've tried 4 different computers with 3 different browsers on each. I've used ctrl F5 each time and I've made sure to go into settings to change the language. I've been trying for about 3 hours now with no luck. 2 hours to launch....
I decided to make a sudden CE purchase and I've been trying since oh I dunno, 8:20pm PST. It's now 12:03am and I am getting so frustrated. I've tried numerous things. I also have two other people trying in my house and neither of them can get it to work either. Ugh.
Apparently they forgot to tell us for every person it works for they have to restart the servers so nobody else can. xD
So coming up on 5 hours trying to get my early access code. The system was a terrible idea and whoever thought it up should be fired. I think the part that is frustrating me the most is the status message at the top that seems to change automatically at set times. I am paraphrasing but it basically says, " Ha ha, several people have already registered you should too, we all look forward to getting started early its going to be great. I bet we can get you to click this button over and over for hours on end without giving you anything in return you pathetic sap."
The other annoying thing is I am a 1.0 account non-legacy who didn't realize I wouldn't have early access without preordering so I am doing this last minute instead of having ordered earlier which is where I think some of the issue is coming in at.

August 20th was the date that they opened the pre-order website.... Now since a lot of you waited till last minute, well... obviously there will be some issues. Don't blame SE for your procrastination ^^.
Looks like they ran out of codes.

because some of us had to wait to be paid to get the game
Or some of us make spontaneous purchases...
Hi. I'm a paying customer. I am paying for Early Access by Pre-Ordering. It doesn't matter that signups were opened up on August 20th. What matters is that I Pre-Ordered it before launch day and I expect to be able to use the product that I paid for. I am likely (and hopefully) still going to get this, but my point is that it is not procrastination when I am a paying customer for a service that I am not yet able to use and should for all intents and purposes be able to.
Further more, they should have expected a flood of pre-orders leading up to launch day, if only to get some of the extra in-game items. Also, procrastination in this case would be buying the game on Monday. Not to mention a lot of us were still a little unsure if they wanted to buy into another MMO, especially one that flopped on its first release.
I'm also suffering from the dreaded error 3. Can we get someone from SE to make a statement? Is this going to be addressed soon? Do we just have to wait for the congestion to go down? Throw us a bone, guys. Just trying to get what we paid for.
