Class Options for Helping Random Players

Hello! I'm trying to decide what class to play and I was hoping to pick up a few tips. =)

Usually I go with a hybrid type that includes healing abilities. I like being able to survive average gameplay solo, but also to heal, resurrect, or buff random players I come across while adventuring.

In short, I'm looking for a viable solo class that also has options for healing or buffing non-grouped players I happen to stumble across. Usefulness end-game would be helpful too, as I sometimes play with friends. I know that arcanists/conjurers can heal and bards can buff, but I don't know whether bards can buff non-party members or how viable these options are long-term. Additionally, there may be other options entirely which I have missed!

Can anyone who is more knowledgeable about the game help shed some light on the best class and job options given the description above? I need to remake my character on a new world anyway so releveling isn't an issue. Thank you!

Well you can actually play any class but make sure you also level up Conjurer. You can grab raise / cure / shell from the conjurer skills to use on any class while you level it. So i would make your first priority leveling up a conjurer to level 15ish or so to gain access to a couple of their skills then switch to whatever class looks the most interesting to you. While leveling the conjurer up you will prolly also see some other players and maybe get an idea of what you want to play.

That's not a bad idea! I knew you could level more than one class but I didn't even think about swiping the buffs from Conjurer and then swapping to something else as my main. Thank you very much for the suggestion! =D

To go into further detail When you level a class getting to certain levels unlock some of that classes skills to be used on other classes. Every 5 levels of your currently equipped class you gain access to 1 additional ability from cross classing (i think it slows down as you get higher but at least 4 @ lv 20). You can then select abilities from any of your leveled classes to use on your equipped class. Not ALL abilities from the other class are available but most of the really important ones are.

I don't think you can buff other non-party PCs anymore. >.> Correct me if I'm wrong. During Phase 3, you couldn't. Dunno if they changed it back or not.

That sounds perfect for players like me. I guess I'll start researching which skills can be carried over, but the ones you listed earlier sound pretty nice already. Thank you again!

Disappointing, as I really like buffing random people - but being able to resurrect and/or heal isn't a bad second, and that was at least possible as of the open beta weekend I think.

you can raise protect cure anyone you want party or not this has to be in place due to the F.A.T.E system brings ppl from all around the area to do an open world task so you will be able to buff and cure and help any and everyone you like ;D

Yeah i know 100% you can res and heal out of party players. I am not 100% sure on casting shell or other buffs on them.

You can actually buff non-party PCs, the only buffs that won't target them are AoE buffs like Protect, which target the party by default...
In fact Protect should be the only buff that does that.

I know the 3 work for sure but the bard songs is where I believe you have to be party

Bard was a job I was thinking about going for with conjurer heals on the side, but if the songs only buff party members, I may reconsider that. Still great to know that there are buffs which will work on random people!
