Relics..

Anyone have any clue how do we obtain the quests this time around?

What people know from what Yoshi said in earlier Live Letters is that it should stay the same, with the exception that Hamlet and the seals are gone. So I guess that you basically have to take the quest and do all the same stuff as before. Where or how you obtain the relic quest is still unsure. But knowing the FF community it won´t take long until they know and publish it. ^^

i got stuck at unfinished spharai... i hope i wont get fucked up, and will just need that final step :x

Not trying to derail the thread or anything but what is a relic in FF14?

At E3 Yoshi said that relics would be easier to get in 2.0 then 1.0. They did change aspects of the quests but we don't know what you have to do for them since we haven't played yet. No more hamlets/time runs for sure.

i would like to know where to go to continue the quest. It was told during Phase 4 that we could continue the progress for A relic Reborn but i never found where. My only guess is the book in my inventory is part of the quest.

To continue we just start the quest again.

You couldn't find the quest in P4 because it wasn't in the game yet.

All I can say is...........THANK FRIGGIN GOD THERE ARE NO MORE HAMLETS! Lol...

Rowena gives the new relic quest at Mor Dhona. According to the patch notes you can't do it till offical service starts.

I'm guessing they only took the speed runs out of AV and CC.

With the DualShockers Interview at gamescom, Yoshida-san says that Ifrit Extreme will be in the next patch (called 2.1, out in 2014)... just saying

If you have seals left over from hamlets you can trade them in for "Allagan Tomestone Of Philosophy" 100 per seal used to buy darklight gear.

Yoshi said in a live letter relics quest will be started at launch.

Gonna be much easier....No more hamlet/seals, no more speed runs AV/CC...double meld those weapons? They each have 2 sockets, so you won't be failing that anymore...

As long as it doesn't take a shit ton of some random currency that can only be attained in small increments on a weekly basis... in which case it will take a long time but very little actual work

Considering they said that one's progress in the quest won't be lost, I don't see them adding a new step/item into the quest.

Just because something was a requirement in 1.0 doesn't mean it will be in 2.0. They already said no hamlets and no speed runs. We don't know what else has changed with it. We still have no idea if Ifrit Extreme is even required in the 2.0 relic quest. It doesn't really make sense for them to put in the relic quest again only to not be able to finish it until a patch down the road.

I actually didn't mind hamlets, it's just the repetitive nature of them that got boring really quick.

I did about 20 hamlets and only got 1 seal. Glad they got rid of it because I would of never finished otherwise. Now I can actually get my relics in 2.0

lol, was this a reference to the new AFv2? Cause that is capped at 300 of the currency per week and although I don't recall how much is required per piece I do know it is a lot higher than 300.

Not sure I'd jump to that conclusion. 1.0 Relic Quest was released in increments, 2.0 very well could be too. Though I don't believe it will be, it COULD be.

I think I did about 70 and got 1 seal. And that was with having a top contributor nearly every time. The drop rates were horrifyingly low.

I'm more upset that those of us who got our 3 seals from each hamlet and used them for the relic quest didn't get our seals returned to us so we could turn them in for the new tombstones used for darklight etc...

I'd guess that normal relic quests have been nerfed. The awkwardness of obtaining them in 1.0 was pretty much just something to keep us busy and also I imagine the devs will want us to be getting on with the relic+1 quests. There is also the consideration that they'll want us to have them to be able to compete in the Crystal Tower etc.

What I thought too when I went to check out the NPCs. Oh well, what's done is done. I wouldn't want new players to go through the torture and boredom that was 1.0 hamlet anyway. It was kinda cool for about 5 runs.

Relics are this game's Epics, right? The purple ones?

that got me thinking that maybe that could be something similar.
I don't know.. I'm more than willing to admit it's just speculation but weekly caps seem like the only thing that would make anything take any time in ARR

I feel exactly the same but I don't think they are time sinking it to be honest. Relics are now a midline of endgame gear and not the pinnacle anymore.

An epic is usually a purple colored item icon and is really powerful in stats. I think Epics originally were from Everquest.
