Any indication or hints as to what jobs are going to be released in the future? Is Puppeteer going to be under the Pugilist class if ever?:)
Musketeer is a sure one. So is Ninja and Samurai.
All I know lol.
I hope Dancer comes out. Another most wanted one from the general players are: Dark Knight and Thief.
Otherwise , nope.
Thief is one.. I remember reading about Scout type class... Ninja and Samurai should be definites and Dark Knight~ I remember reading about people seeing a Musketeer Guild in Limsa~
^^Thanks for all the inputs, hopefully we'll know soon!
Musketeer has a guild in the game already that isn't used by a class as of yet and that would even out the starting classes in limsa with everywhere else so I assume that will be one that comes quickly as possible. Yoshi has mentioned Samurai and Ninja for sure as eventual jobs but beyond that, its all heresay, rumors and hopes.
The Musketeer guild is gone from what I saw. I don't remember where it was in Limsa exactly so I can't say what it's been replaced with but Arcanist is a safe bet. I remember reading some where that Red Mage, Dark Knight, Samurai and Ninja were what they were considering for the next expansion.
EDIT: Looking at this old map, I think it's where the Coral Tower was. The Coral Tower was moved to the East of that(the top part below the 'Northern Islands') and turned into the Marauder's guild.

Some of the jobs were a love/hate thing too, while others were clear favorites. They'll probably come out with DNC and PUP later down the road when they've brought the more common jobs back to life.
I personally want to see COR make an appearance, but Musketeer might be filling that gap, depending who you listen to on what it does lol... I'm sure all of them will come back over time, or at least in a variation of itself.
Edit: For those like Mikhail below, most jobs stem from previous FF games, such as FFV & FFT etc with FFXI even coming out with some of its own. All in all though if you look hard enough you'll find the job in a previous game. Just a few examples, Rune Fencer in XI probably a nod to Rune Knight in FFVI, Dancer from FFV, and so on.
So I'd brush up on your FF "lore" from the wikia sites on older games, its entirely possible some of them will make a comeback like others have.
I didn't really know anything about those "future jobs".
They all sound amazing, i'm really looking forward to seeing them! :D
It would make sense that musketeer would be a class and thief and corsair could stem off it as the jobs.
But I'd like to know what new class would introduce ninja and samurai. I don't think any of the current classes really fit those two.
I personally want to see dancer back. Was my favorite in XI.
Samurai/Ninja would be fun (except throw gil, I hate tat skill).
Other job I would hope to have is Machinist/Gunner (FFTactics), ranged debuffer class (arm shot, leg shot, etc).
Does anyone know if 'jacks of all, master of none' will come as well? (Red Mage)
Im hoping for a Blue Mage job like the way it was in Final Fantasy XI. What classes would it branch off though?
I will be so happy if or when Thief get's added
I'm hoping for Dark Knight :D
I wanna be a chocobo breeder :P no but really I would like to see a new non FF job/class added in. Maybe a new type of tank to hopefully get more people to play tanks?
I think it would really add to the gameplay if there were advanced jobs that would require multiple regular jobs (Red Mage being a good example of Black and White Mage), just like we have to unlock jobs using multiple classes.
Samurai could be feasible as a lancer job. Not all samrai used katanas. They were also trained to use bows, spears, and polearms. They've even used spears in one or two of the FF titles (apologies I cannot remember which ones off the top of my head).
I would love to see the following classes/jobs/advanced Jobs:
Class: Rogue
Jobs: Thief / Ninja
Job: Dark Knight (Gladiator Job#2)
Advanced Job: Magic Knight (DK+PLD)
Then would be a weird way of creating a RDM. Because RDM is exactly the opposite: Know WHM/BLM but does not excel in none. If now requires to have leveled both (then, having high grade/leveled skills), RDM would be too OP, don't you think?
Oh, before I forget, another cool class is Tactics' Holy Knight (Agrias, Wiegraf). Judgement Blade, Hallowed Bolt etc.
I think itd be cool if they added the red mage and implemented it as a melee caster similar to valewalkers from daoc, or HoX from AoC
I hope it will be possible to add new jobs to the range of those available, and it will increase the dynamic nature of the game world too.
Dark Knight can not come off of Gladiator... Gladiator is a tank.. I know that Paladin came from Dark Knight but with how they have the armoury system it just does not make any sence ( at least to me )... you play Gladiator ( tank ) to get Paladin ( tank ) you play lancer ( dd ) to get dragoon ( dd ) conjurer ( healer ) to get white mage ( healer ) well you get the point... playing Gladiator ( tank ) to get Dark Knight ( dd ) does not make much sence with how they have the armoury system.. Know if when you got the Job they made it more like FF 11 and you had to start from lvl 1 and you learn all new skills and spell ( some that others have or are similar to ones others have ) that complement the job instead of having access to skills that don't match the job much.
For example most of the Gladiators skills are geared at tanking so getting a Dark Knight out of that would mean that most of the class skills would be un-useable for a dd job.. They would need to make a new class to spawn Dark Knight from ( that is what I think anyway ) other wise they would have to get it from Marauder because out of the classes they have it is the closest they have to anything that can spawn a Dark Knight.. It has skills that allow it to gain HP from damage it does and skills that allow it to do more damage so it can get more HP from the damage it does. But it would still be better to make a new class for them to get Dark Knight from that way they can make sure that at least half of the skills and spells are suited to the Job of Dark Knight..
I just mainly don't want them to mess up Dark Knight sence it is the Job I am looking foreword to the most.. It's just getting it out of Gladiator seems like they would be trying to force it to work. Just because Paladin came from Dark Knight in FF 5 does not mean you have to get them from the same class.. PLD came from San D'Oria in FF11 and DRK came from Bastock in FF11 so it would not be the first time the had them come from something different..Know getting them from the same place would be just fine. Heck it might even be kind of fun if they added a rivalry between the PLD's and DRK's something about the teachings of Cecil.. This is just what I think... weather people agree or dis-agree is completely up to them.
I think a Galdiator and a thaum or glad and lancer would actually make sense to me as being the dark night (glad for the knightly fighting style) and lancer for the ability to use long pokey weapons or scythes. or thaum for the dps spells.
just because the classes as of now all line up to be dd - dd doesn't mean anything. Also there is nothing besides past games saying the dark knight cannot be a tank oriented to dps or life taps. itd add another flavor. by having the mitigating tank - pally, hp tank - war, and siphon tank - dk
I will have to admit that Dark Knight being a siphon tank might be kind of interesting... Did not think of that one.. And that is why we discuss things.. :-)
Agreed i think it would be a fun dynamic. But i have also heard mention from the devs interview that they have considered having the dk come from the marauder and have the act of being the dk change some the tanky abilities that youd get from glad to something more dd like but i don't know if they droped the idea. Also the marauder makes sense for a dk as well as it already uses large weapons so change from axe to scythe, and thaum / lancer secondaries would actually work.
some of the Garleans are using gunblades.
wtb a job that uses gunblades. FFS.
With Phase 4, it looks like Bard has swapped roll from Healer/Support to DD...
We've got a DD (Arcanist) becoming a DD (Summoner) or a Healer (Scholar).
Dark Knights traditionally use a Sword and Shield, hence coming off the Gladiator class makes sense. Advanced Job of Runic Knight or Arcane Knight could also be acquired from mastery of Dark Knight and Paladin...
As for a secondary Lancer class, I would like to see the Holy Dragoon (What Kain becomes in TAY) as either an Advanced Job (Requiring Paladin + Dragoon at 50) or a Second Job choice for Lancers (LNC+CNJ or whatever PLD's Secondary becomes).
Sages are masters of both White and Black Magic, so I could see the Advanced Job: Sage appearing for Level 50 White Mage and Black Mage.
You mean a SEED?
Ninja, Thief, Red Mage, Dark Knight and Samurai are pretty much guaranteed to show up sometime down the line.
do think beast master or something similar would also be fun though. its always a fun run to have your giant animal kill everything as a little person. I for one would love to run around with a Fat Dodo pet for the comic factor. be a reminder of the days I ran around with my cow pet on eq2 =P
A lot of my friends are holding out for Red Mage so i'm hoping that'll get added in eventually.
I loved Red mage in FFXI so I will definately be excited if/when it gets added into 14
something along the lines of necromancy would be cool but I don't know if it would fit in final fantasy lore? I think the closest we would get is summoning primals aka summoner? but I could be mistaken as I am not versed heavily in final fantasy lore besides playing like ff 8, 9, 10 and 11 lol. but none of those to my poor memory had a "necro" but well see
Level 50 Thaumaturge for lyfe!
