So you want a free reset for your own mistake when you could have just hovered over the status and read what it does or read bout it on the manual? '-'
You could always read what each stat does before you put points in it. Is it me or is the ARR community always asking for free stuff?

Isn't there a npc that will reset your stats for seals, guild points, or something like that? I thought I remember seeing one in 1.0, or did they remember them completely?
OP, if it helps there will be an in game item the devs have talked about that will allow you to reset bonus stat points on an unspecified timer. Until then, a few points won't make or break your character in any way.
Now, do I think the item should be free? Maybe once as a veteran reward or something, but other than that no.
ACtually there was , you just didn't look for it and assumed that status would have the same effect as they did in 1.0 Its your own mistake and you gotta live with it. AND from phase 4 (where it started to count) when you hover over a status it displays what it does.
1. In Letter VIII, Yoshida says there will eventually be a way to reset points, so this is a temporary problem.
2. There may not be an official "manual" but if you hover over an attribute, you will see the effect of the tribute.
3. Attribute points will make a minor difference in your end-game stats.
It was known for a while that the would be different.
There was a manual up on the beta forums for all beta phases AND alpha phases saying exactly what each stat did. So you had no reason not to have looked the stuff up before allocating your points during phase 4.
truth be told im hoping they redesign stat allocation some, as it is atm is a one sided and bland addition to the game. (assuming no stat caps of course) Admittedly i can't think of any "simple" solutions though. Was thinking something along the lines of making the stat points affect ws and abilities with some kinda of "weight" system. for example gld skills have a str rating of 5 but cross class abilities from CNJ for gld have a rating of 2 so 30 points of str would give you 6 effective str enhance to the str skill with rating 5 but 30 into mnd would give you 15 to cnj skill with rating of 2. Just and idea but I can already see this having flaws too though, namely in "expected" builds. Still would be more interesting than what we have atm :P
guess id settle for the 1.0 style cap too i.e. max allotment to a single stat being something like 18. again still kinda linear but at least you can mess with those last 12 points lol Still like I said im assuming no stat caps though (far as i know none have been found), if there are stat caps my points are moot :P

Did Dexterity ever add to accuracy and crit chance?

You can buy an item that resets your stat points for 10k seals from the GC vendors.
People in Hell want ice water.
I saw the Keepers of the Hymn in the Grand Company Rank 1 tab that resets attribute points for 10,000 GCS.
