how do we take screen shots on ps3???

I'm sorry for this stupid question. I tried searching for it and could not find it.

How do we take screen shots on the ps3? D:

I can't remember exactly...I remember I was using Mouse mode.
Like L1 and then press the right button analog on the bottom to enable mouse.
It is possible to take screenshots on PS3 now! :o
I accidentally took it and it's on my PS3 picture part. I hope someone helps.

Hello! I had fun using my Virtual Screenshot camera in FFXIV ARR Open Beta Phase 4. I'm happy to help you out!
To take a screenshot with Dualshock3 PS3 controller: Hold L1 + Press Start button(takes about 3Sec to save).
To clear all U.I. from the screen for a clear screenshot: Hold L1 + Press Select button.
To enter camera into First-Person view: press down on R3 once(Right analog Stick.

I was trying to figure this out all in phase 4, thanks for this info really helpful!

Make sure to also look at the log to see if the screenshot failed or saved~ I missed some good pics T.T

I took like 2 on accident in p4 could not find out hot to do it when I wanted to lol so thx :D

So that All PS3 players are informed and able to know how to take Screenshots during Early Access and into Launch day please keep this Bumped Up =^_^=

I keep looking for a list of all the built in controls on PS3, like screenshot, but I can't find anything. I think I basically hit every possible combination of buttons to check what is possible, but I'd like to know if I've missed anything. It seems L1 is the basic modifier; camera zoom, screenshot, and hide UI all use it.

This is great. I was wondering how to do this in p4 and now I know. Thanks!

I've never done screenshots via a PS3.
Are you able to send shots from a PS3 to social media sites such as Facebook from the PS3?

damn wish i would have known this sooner. I had to delete my character out of anger due to some players insulting me.. tried to take pictures of what they actually said on my phone, but found no topic related to harassment here on forums.. and no pic attachments on tickets to in game support..

L1 + Start for Screenshot was mentioned in the Patch notes for Beta P4. It's also listed in the current confirmed issues that screeshot function on PS3 doesn't work always or for all players - you cen see "Screenshot Failed" or "Screenshot Saved" status in chat log. This combinations works also on PC (using the PS3 controller). Finally - in the system setings you can choose eihter JPG or PNG format for screenshots.
