What do you guys think?
this is awesome!
Huh interesting.
i guess the level restriction for creating threads is fine, keep this place from becoming congested while everone is waiting for early access/launch. i have a question that i can't find an answer to so i'll just ask it here in lieu of being able to create a thread
Does anyone know...
if the experience bonus from leveling a class lower than your highest level class applies across combat and crafting/gathering classes?
I might wait to level my crafting/gathering if i can save time spent by waiting until my main is closer to level 50.
We have a posting limit still? Oh boy...
o man, you mean there will be a super sweet app so i can use my device to check forums while playing the game? whoa...
Don't blame them for limiting it after what happened with the beta forums; I'd assume it'll most likely be updated or removed after awhile once things settle down.
I like these rules. Was a little disappointed to see that I can't recruit for my FC right away, but early access will be here in no time. :) It doesn't exactly take a long time to get to lvl25, but I think this is a good way to stop a bit of of troll bs.
Not entirely sure the cooldown timer on posts is even working right. It's not the other limits that bother me so much as that.
Edit: Yeah don't think the timer is on... That was only 9mins not 15
I'm all for the post limits but that means I can't talk with fellow Ultros players in our specific forum area unless a legacy player starts a thread =/
I was excited to chat and set up or join a FC =P I can't get on till late Saturday night so I was hoping to get a hold of one here
Don't worry. Everyone will have at least 1 50 within the first month. It won't matter.
Doesn't really matter. The game is ganna run 24/7, doubt people will use the forums much by then.
Though this will definitely reduce the amount of trolling. It can also lower constructive community involvement.
This...is a terrible idea. Way to foster a loving community by making new players feel excluded and somehow worth less. Doubly so because this is an MMO that should do everything in its power to foster communication in every fashion. Then again, no other core aspect of the game does either so I guess I shouldn't be surprised
Oh /joy

The limit doesn't seem that bad. Especially after the beta forums.
I'm new here and even I was sadden about how people were posting crazily on the beta forum.
I do not mind the limit.
Good, we won't see people who only play the game for few hours then post a thread complaining.
I don't mind the limits either, but I've never before been part of a Forum with such a restrictive posting ability haha
The only thing I don't like so much is that it says it's based on your main character. My Lalafell is so cute, but only level 10 so far, so I had to switch... XD
But there are more pros than cons to it, so I'm fine with it. :D
It was not like this in 1.0, i don't even remember it being like that on the beta forums during the early phases, it was only later on that they had to limit it. I'm all for a constructive community but the Beta forums was anything but that and I'm sure its gonna be a bit hectic here during launch too so i think this is a smart move.
It's asinine. These won't be very popular forums. :\
I guess it is alright, can cut down of post farming and clutter, but what if a newbie has an actual question that has not been asked yet?
I definitely think it's helpful. Now potential trolls will have to put in the effort to level a sock puppet account before starting a lot of drama.
I guess that's true but I don't remember the server forums being frequented very often. If it helps though I'll start a thread for you. :D
I think the posting limit is horrendous and severely limits the capacity of this forum for vibrant and lively discussion, which may be the point.
So that's why the new servers' subforum is still empty...
Fine by me. :)
I'm not sure what to think about the forum restrictions. I think I would like the number of posts higher, just in case, but at the same time I can't deny that these new forums sounds much more friendly than the ugly beta forums.
Nah. That's for when you are sitting for way too long on the toilet at work.
Sounds cool
Did you know that if you had used the search you may have found the other threads already created on this topic?
If you did you could have just posted your thoughts in one of those and read some previous posts on it as well. But, no. You are a special snowflake and had to create yet another thread.
Well done! You are now one of the reasons we have these restrictions on us. (clap clap)
Edit* We need tougher restrictions. People creating duplicate threads should get a temporary 7 day ban.
wow thats neat :P
Aww, I love being social and stuff...oh well, at least its only to the off topic threads/forums etc, so its not too bad!!
Good to know. Thank you.
Seriously? We are not living in communist country....... 15mins before you can post a new post? That's crazy!!
How about make it 3mins delay so I can make my maximum 20 post per day so I can concentrated playing my game?
I don't mind the posting limits but I don't think the cool-downs for posting should be so high. Just my thoughts..
Considering the reply's and the people who have given this thread a read, i would say if another thread existed i am not the only one who did not see it before it hit last page. A duplicate with vital information, even as a duplicate serves some purpose. If you want a reason for the rules at hand, just recall the beta forums. Such a cesspool, that even the dev's didn't want to touch it unless they had to.
Totally loving those new rules.
Urgh, as I just ran into while replying to someone... The 1,000 character limit is just absurd. I know a lot of people have lousy attention spans these days, but there's no reason to turn a forum into Twitter.
At the very least, it shouldn't count what you're quoting.
Oh well, the official forums will be dead and fansites will be active again. I guess it's better that way, SE's attempt at "open communication" with its player base has been nothing but a headache for everyone.
