about dungeon lockouts

Hello.
So I havent been doing v.1. endgame and dont know much about the dungeons etc.
Mostly my dungeon/raid experience comes from WoW and I'd love to know how the lockouts work in XIV.
Example: weekly lockouts on raids? daily locks on harder dungeons?

As far as 1.0 goes, there was a 5 min lockout should you fail and a 15 min lockout should you succeed. This was the same with primals.

As far as ARR (2.0) goes, we know for sure that there is now a point system similar to WoW's Justice/Valor while the Justice counterpart has no weekly cap, there is a set cap at 2000. However, the Valor counterpart has a weekly cap of 300 (I believe) and a total cap of 2000. Exactly which points we get from the dugneons in the Duty Finder is unclear. We will find out more about the acquisition of points once the servers go live. The same with the lockout. We will find out in a couple of days, but I am assuming (and hoping) it still follows the 5/15 min system.

The vendor to spend these points on is located in Mor Dhona at one of the camps. The lower point set allows the player to purchase Darklight armor for all classes. While the higher point set allows the player to purchase tier 2 artifact gear (AF). This is the same NPC the player must visit to trade in spoils from both Odin and Behemoth. Both of the gear types from the two primals are around the item level of the Darklight.

If i remember correctly, the old AF gear is roughly 50 item level while the Darklight is around 70, and the tier 2 AF gear is 90.

What exactly are the rewards for killing Behemoth and Odin?

From what I recall, there's a set of heavy armour and helmet from odin + Zantetsuken. (his sword, thus making this geared more toward paladins)
Looks pretty dark-knighty, really cool looking.
Don't remember much about the behemoth gear however but I believe there was at least a behemoth helmet. possible some armour as well.
I really can't recall it all, there was so much stuff to look through ^^;

Behemoth items are purchased in exchange for Behemoth Horns and a similar item for Odin, can't recall what it was specifically.

Odin loot is all of his armor, sword, and chocobo barding. It is most definitely tank gear.

Behemoth loot is a lance and head armor for each party role. I can't remember if there were other pieces either.

They are actual items. I can't remember what the odin items were in particular, but behemoth ones were 5 behemoth horns for each item.

Most other stuff (AF2, darklight and such) requires a form of seals however, if you were curious about those as well.

Also, as far as I know odin and behemoth are roaming FATE events, and thus how exactly you obtain these items or how many you get, I am unsure of. Since they probably aren't random drops as they might have been were it a dungeon. You probably obtain 1-2 horns (or equivalent for odin) based on your participation in the FATE event together with the exp/gold reward for completion.

So as i get this straight, if it works like in V.1:
you wipe on a boss (ex. Ifrit), you wait for 5 mins before re-engaging
you kill a boss (ex. Ifrit again), you wait for 15 mins before you can do it again?
As such, it's possible to grind gear from the Primals?

I know better pretty much had no lockout but it is Beta after all, Regarding the 5/15, im pretty sure Yoshi will keep it that way or less lockout/none. Yoshi seems to know what he is doing for the community and I beleive he will make sure we all love it :3

Correct. However, in 1.0 the drop rates were quite low and it wasn't to be expected that you might get gear often. I didn't do Ifrit or Garuda often, but I did Moogle King a lot.. Hundreds of times. I only got 4 weapons and one was a repeat that I ended up exchanging for GC Seals.

Earlier in the beta it was stated that there would be a maximum amount of times you can roll on equipment in a certain period, but they changed their mind and did away with that around Phase 3. As of right now there are no limits on how often you can re-enter a dungeon to the best of my knowledge. How this will affect raids such as Crystal Tower is unknown at this point though.
