Try running as admin and see if that clears up.
nope >.> didnt work still gets stuck with like 10% update left and gives same error
Hmm I just ran it for me and it worked just fine... Let me think.
Ok did you try uninstalling it and reinstalling?
naw couldnt find the reinstaller haha
Alright hold on let me find it for you and ill repost in this message.
Edit: Ok from what I looked into the client was downloadable from the beta forums and is not available on these forums yet.
ahhh what a pain in the ass haha i just wanna have it all set uppp hah
Yeah I am sorry about that. You best bet is to either wait until EA goes live or when they release the client reinstall.
Disable BullGuard Browser protection
Oh hey check this out krackerjack.
"1. Add boot.exe to the DEP
2. Check compatibilities settings on your shortcut and make sure it matches your OS version. Many people had it stuck at winxp instead of win7.
3. Uninstall, delete the folder in program files, delete the folder in my documents, reinstall. Backup anything you want to save from the my documents folder. You can actually backup the folder in program files and restore it after its installed so you don't have to redownload everything."
See if THAT fixes it.
what the hell is a DEP

Download the game here (If you still need to, if not we can leave it here for future reference.)
k just uninstalling and reinstalling now gunna try that
Try uninstalling the program and delete all the left over files in my document, my games, ffxiv," after a new installation right click the shortcut and go to compatibility tab and choose what ever os system you have like Window 7. also Run it as Administrator in that same menu your on. IMPORTANT if you dont want to reinstall every file try doing the compatibility mode and run as admin menu first before uninstall and reinstalling. Hope it helps
What is causing this issue exactly? I have the same error. It happened once last weekend, but restarting the computer seemed to fix it. It didn't this time. I run as administrator and the compatibility stuff is set to my OS. D: Guess I might have to reinstall.
I got the same error and fixed it through the following:
I'm assuming you have some version of Windows 7. If you right click ffxivboot or anything else in the boot folder, it might say "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." Unblocking does exactly dick.
Okay now onto phase 2. If you don't have Enterprise or the other expensive version, (likely you have Home Premium or Basic) then we can't use gpedit.msc to make sure this isn't blocked permanently. So you have to edit the registry.
Disclaimer: if you don't feel comfortable doing this, don't. It is a modification of one entry in the registry: to not save the zone information from files you download off the internet.
Download the following files from this thread: do_not_preserve.reg and default-preserve.reg (you will have to register on this forum). http://www.sevenforums.com/general-d...tachments.html
Particularly, you want the one that says "Do Not Preserve." The other one is to revert it in case you want the old functionality back. Double click it, go through some prompts, then re-download FFXIVsetup.exe. Uninstall FFXIV completely from your computer--delete the files in Program Files and My Documents/My Games. Run the installer. Watch it patch without errors.
Problem solved.
Bullshit that SE can't figure out a way around this though.
