Better this than having them break due to congestion all the time.
Well I looked at the restrictions and 3 posts per day for my level is out right stupid... I mean what if a fellow tester of the game finds more than 3 bugs and they can't post now because of the limit? (Talking about the website or something not tech related) It is down right TOO restrictive.
wait what restriction i dont have any
Post 2 more times and it locks you out monds
Tech support is exempt.
If somebody only levels to let's say 10 and then gives up, then they come onto the forum to whine and complain, they can't because of the restriction. I approve of it personally
Actually, according to the forum design and features post:
"This restriction does not apply to the "Technical Support," "Bug Reports," "New Player Help" and "Community Events" forums and sub-forums."
o,o'.. That seems extremely super strict especially being that you have hit lvl. 25 before you can even post threads outside of the exempt forums..
I kind of like the restrictions. Leaves the trolls at a huge disadvantage. But I can see the detriments.
I made 1 post on general and it won't let me post anywhere else. My limit should be 3.
Something isn't quite working right.
It does not let me report website bugs and locks me out....
I'm thinking despite technical not supposed to count, it is counting and if you have 3 posts in technical, you can't post in the normal categories.
While it does have some benefits, I feel like such harsh limitations do more harm than good.
I am a Leader of a Free Company and unable to even put a thread up recruiting for our organization......
Some of the non-legacy beta testers were restricted to level 20... Yeah we are not trolls.
This is at least the third thread I've read on this topic today. And people wonder why there are limitations...
He doesn't mean everybody. He means the low level people who buy the game, don't pay thier sub (because of the 1 month free time), then come on the forums to complain about stupid things. Beta forum was FLOODED with this, to the point where EVERYBODY had a 1 post per 15 minutes and 1 hour per thread creation.
This too
I personally don't care, their website, their rules. Although it's kinda annoying because the only reason I'm level 17 and not level 20 is because of the infamous 3102.
It's fine :D

Having these sort of limitations in place before the game has even hit head start stifles members who have already paid to play the game the chance to ask questions, comment in ways to help others, and in my own case, recruit for their free company.
Even if I were able to start the recruitment thread, I still would have to choose which 2 people to answer each day if questions were asked because I am sure the original post would count as one of my three.
The restrictions on this forum are amongst the most stupid things I've ever experienced in the history of the web.
I guess it's one way to get players to NOT use the official site and reduce the chances of their site choking even harder during release than it did repeatedly during beta.
But hey, at least you aren't limited to only every 10 minutes. The control freak nonsense has taken a different turn but that's kind of a plus.
I just post in tech forums and help people that way. I mean it works.
You do indeed, but why wait till level 25 to start recruiting when you can invite prospective as well as existing members into a linkshell until you hit lvl 25?
Not everyone is a speed leveler, not everyone is a legacy player. Some of us had to restart on a new server the last day of beta because it was the only server accommodating our members logging in, and decided to stay there. Doesn't it make sense to give prospective members the chance to get to know us while we are ramping up to 25 and getting the FC started?
That is something we were joking about over VoIP a few minutes ago.
It makes you think that someone at SE believes the higher the level of a virtual avatar you play, the less likely you are to abuse forum privileges, spam, start arguments, troll people, or just all around show yourself as an arse. If only it worked like that. :)
I would love more of a middle-ground. While I certainly understand what SE is trying to do with the restrictions, this game is in it's beginning stages where people are exploring their options, and I feel like we're a bit limited in what we can do. I really hope we aren't forced into spamming shout with FC spam. I can't imagine the recruitment nightmare that would be.
missed the point. im saying peoples lack of using the search feature, which is talked about in the forum rules leads to multiple threads on the same topic. In the case of this thread you probably only had to check the first or second page to see the other 2 or more threads on this topic. You could have said everything you wanted in another topic but choose to make a brand new one, hence the limitations.
Atleast they should lower it, i cant make a single topic now atm except in here
