Question about Grand Companies

I was just curious, the GC outfits - are all the stats the same between the 3 cities? It seems to me like some have mind and int while others have str and dex? Can someone confirm this?

I can't figure out how one would choose their GC otherwise...unless you prefer yellow red or blue colors.:confused:

I chose the GC in v1.0 not because of the gear stats (even if this is for sure a reason which can help you). Like the city you should choose the company you like the most. They all got a different personality with their different leaders. Take a look at all companies and read a little bit about the leaders. That is my suggestion.

I didn't check the stat changes in A Realm Reborn yet, but in the old version it was somewhat random. There was no clear rule such as "Twin Adders have MND gear while Immortal Flames have INT". It varied from piece to piece and every new update changed things up again.

In other words, it didn't make sense to choose your company based on their gear and I'm sure it will be the same this time around. Just chose them based on their leader, general mentality, theme music or even color if you want. ^^

Hint: The Maelstrom wins in each of those categories!

Each GC has different gear. Generally there's a good piece for each job, but different pieces are going to be good for different jobs. For instance, Uldah has the best GC body for BLM (currently) and Gridania has a good body for BRD, DRG & MNK (though AF may be better in some cases.)

Ultimately though, I'd say choose the GC you like best. You'll be able to get useful gear from all of them.

I would also take into account the class your playing, and the proximity from your class guild's location to the GC. For example, if you're conjurer or lancer, it would be easier to deal with Twin Adder from Gridania (without constantly teleporting and spending gil), but that's just an opinion

The gear is not worth picking a grand company you don't like. It's not the best in the game and the current high tier GC gear will likely be replaced by the next ranks.

However if you are stuck and cannot choose between ones you do like, then I suppose gear can be the deciding factor.

Also, as was mentioned, the sets aren't geared towards specific jobs as a whole, only specific pieces are. Speaking as someone in the Immortal Flames, their head and body pieces are good mage pieces, but the feet and hands are good physical DPS pieces.

Anybody got a picture what each grand company mount looks like? Not the basic one.

if you mean the emblems on the side you can see them in the benchmark or probably videos of the benchmark on youtube.
