I'm fairly sure you'll only be able to get collectors edition items on actual release and that it'll unlock when you put in the code you get with the game.
I got the digital edition and it only gave me a pre-order/early access code. Not a collector's edition code... I won't be getting a CD key or anything from the packaged game.
I'm going to be the bearer of bad news and say that because you played 1.0, you already have a service account under the Square-Enix Account Management Center. In which case, your Digital Collector's Edition cannot be applied to an existing service account. You would have to open a new one.
If you want the Collector's Edition status, you would need to wait until they announce the digital upgrade of $19.99.
I called SE Customer Service the other day and I was told that you can't see it on your Square Enix Management profile. I am guessing that the new Mog Station website will have what you're looking for when it eventually goes live.
Before you take any action, go ahead and look through this: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hase-Questions
It should answer any of your questions regarding your situation and probably correct any error I made in my post, if any.
Doesn't say anything about the situation I'm in...
if you want the CE items you should have bought the CE digital upgrade. thats the only way you get the CE items on a 1.0 account. otherwise you would have to make a new SE account with your new game that you bought.
request a refund and upgrade your account to digital CE. you already used the preorder code so you dont miss out on early access or the preorder items anyways.
I'm in the same situation, but I preordered the physical version of the CE as opposed to the digital version specifically because of the physical components. What is my best option?
EDIT: Oh. Godammit SE. I'm gonna need to buy the digital upgrade too? ffs
I`m in the same boat here-.- They should be able to easily fix this. At least they should´ve given a response about this issue.
I've also been trapped by this. I just sent an email to customer support to try and see if I can get this addressed - does anyone else see an option to chat with customer service, or call them? All I see are the email support options, which I'm not a big fan of...
How can you describe it as people 'not bothering to read' something that they didn't know existed?
I´d like some source to see if it really is that super clear to notice
so from my understanding.
1.0 non-legacy member:
no early access
no pre-order items
has to buy PS3 version for pre-order and early access.
there is a digital upgrade for non-CE but it is not yet available and is not a pre-order.

both 1.0 versions
PS3 pre-order code is auto applied to a new PS3 account that will be linked to the 1.0 account when you physically receive the PS3 game codes that come with the game released on aug 27.
Therefore, 1.0 non-legacy members have no access to early access.

It was a sticky in the general forum and I believed mentioned a few other times in other places.
I posted this earlier: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hase-Questions
It was in the old General Discussion forum. It was stickied and made three months ago. Hard to miss :/
Will people who have the 1.0 Collector's Edition be able to apply the pre-order bonus in-game items and early access rights to their old accounts if they pre-order the standard PC version of the game?
When registering the pre-order bonus code you will be able to select which FFXIV service account the bonus is applied to.
Solved. We're covered. No more worrying.
I bought the CE edition before I ever went to the forums, and the page advertising it certainly didn't make it clear!
A few obscure references on forums players may or may not even be reading isn't a substitute for clearly marking your order page, and I think it's pretty darn understandable that not everyone obsessively reads everything written.
Not sure how it's going to work, but I bought a CE edition and registered my pre-order code; got early access code input successfully, and see the Early Access rewards listed; just not the CE rewards.Quote:

You register the preorder code to your PSN account, then link the PSN account to your SE account and the service account you want to play (if you have more than 1 on the SE account). Then the PSN account register automatic early access and the preorder items to your choosed service account, even if it is an 1.0 account
If you have the preorder code, even an non-legacy 1.0 account can get early access.Quote:

In some gameshops in germany (like Saturn) they sold stand-alone preorder codes for 5€.
I've read that page. and this one http://lodestone.finalfantasyxiv.com...96bf81c212957d
from my understanding it was said that if you had a 1.0 account, you could not apply PC version codes (activation codes) to it. Now the pre-order code is probably different and can be applied but the physical game codes will not work if they are PC.
Just tracked down a copy of a physical PS3 CE, and I think it cost more for me to buy it than it would have to for me get the physical PC CE and upgrade my regular account to CE digitally.
Hmmm...$80+how much it is for upgrading? (30?) versus a sold-out PS3 CE ($220)...

Exactly. SE owes me big-time.
I'm sensing an air of entitlement from some of the Legacy Players. I'm not a 1.0 player, but this entire process does sound incredibly confusing, and convoluted.
That being said, I've never purchased FFXIV 1.0 - When I bought the Digital CE Version of FFXIV ARR, I was given a code which I used to activate my account and gain early access. I also don't see any indication of having received any of the Collector's Edition Perks, so it isn't just the v1.0 players having an issue with this. I'm having an issue as well. No where on my account do I see that my Collector's Edition status has been applied.
Put on your Onion Helm?
nevermind, that's too old school. :P
Well - I hope you're right. I have to agree that Forum Posts aren't exactly the best place to communicate with your customers about the process they have to complete to obtain the digital items they have purchased. I've checked, and double-checked my order receipt and none of this information (besides the Pre-Order Codes) was covered. Thanks for the prompt reply - it is appreciated.
I was tricked by the husband! I thought I had 1.0 CE because Onion Helm shows up on my account. Apparently, he registered CE on his account, then gave me Onion Helm code. Boo, so now I think I just need to link PS3 CE to my 1.0, and I should get the bonus items.
Ok so I am 1.0/Legacy and bought this

You guys saying I won't get my Couerl Mount?
I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread. Luckily I was still able to cancel my order, and get a refund.
So, I'm guessing the digital upgrade comes out on the official launch date?
