Job/Class Question

Myself and 5 of my friends are joining FFXIV for the first time, we read a lot about the game, but I needed to see if there was any changes to the class/job system for the following:

WHM - Is it still Conjuror 30, Gladiator 15? or did it change to Arcanist 15
PLD - Is it still Gladiator 30, Conjuror 15
BLM - Is it still Tharm 30, Gladiator 15? or did it change to Arcanist 15
MNK - Is it still Puglist 30, Lancer 15?
DRG - Is it still Lancer 30, Puglist 15?
WAR - Is it still Marauder 30, Gladiator 15?

We are all planning on starting off with our sub class (level 15 requirement) first before moving on to the primary class.

Also we are going to be looking for a moderate size RP guild if any are out there.

I am wondering the same thing as well. At first I thought to get BLK it had to be 30THM and 15 PUG. And to get SMN it had to be 30 ARN and 15 THM.

These are the recent changes and as far as im aware are correct, sorry im not sure what the 3rd jobs are for Summoner or Scholar

I would start leveling your main class first through story quests etc. Sub classes are surprisingly quick to level to 15 after you got some levels with your main class.

I found a few web sites that state different things. i would love to no what i need for DRAGOON, i heard its LNC, ARCH & MAR.. soo confused

I'm pretty sure that for DRG you'lll need PGL to 15 as a secondary class for it.. As a DRG you'll have access to PGL and MRD skills~ Sub class used to be ARC/MRD but changes have replaced ARC/MRD to PGL/MRD~

Does that mean both or either or for Sub Class?

That picture means that WHM can use ACN and THM skills

Means that the jobs are able to pull from the two classes for sub skills...
Everything looks good but I I read that BRD had CNJ changed to something else ...
There's also only one secondary class needed to lvl 15 to unlock the job for each class~
Havocstars's List for secondary classes looks good~

Sorry guys, should have provided a little more info in my post rather than just the image, but unfortunately, I pinched the image and don't know! I was under the assumption that you needed to level both sub classes in the image, and that this was the most up to date information...

I know it's not much help, but at least the main class listed is definitely (and obviously) correct, so it's really not that much hassle to level up another class to 15 (only takes about an hour if you just chase hunting log targets)

I believe BRD lost its access to CNJ skills in exchange for PGL.

My advice is to play on your main class, but spend some time in the other classes to get any abilities that appeal to you. Once you hit level 30 the job quest will show up and they will tell you what sub-class you need leveled.

Leveling the sub-class will be much faster if you do it this way, as now there is a system in place where classes level up faster if they are not your highest leveled class.

Hey guys, here comes a noob question... If I create a character being thaumaturge, can I get another job besides black mage? Im asking because I didnt like too much of thm, so I was wondering if I can lvl a sub class of lancer and pugilist to be a dragoon, keeping my name and crafts. Or should I create another character as lancer as main class?

You have access to all the classes/jobs :D Just need to finish your Lvl 10 Class Quest then you can go start visiting the different guilds to try out classes to see which one ya like the most ^^

These were the changes at least in beta phase 4. A Legacy player said that in phase 4, his bard had both Lancer and Pugilist abilities, so Bard has changed from a DD/Support character to primarily a DD. - See more at: http://poeticjustice.guildlaunch.com....RopYm6uj.dpuf If these phase 4 changes stay or get changed again we will have to wait and see in early access/release.

I am so sad as after getting to 20 on my Archer I leveled a Conj to lvl 15 which was so slow compared to the lancer!

Can't wait for early access so I can play Pugilist , which I think will be more fun to play!

The wonderful thing about this game is you can do everything on one character. If you don't like BLM, then becoming a Dragoon is as easy as leveling Lancer and Pugilist and completing the level 30 quest as a Lancer for the soul crystal, so you can continue on with your character the way you see fit :)

Someone said I had to be an THM AND ARN. Guess not...would like official word though.

Just level every class to 30! problem solved :)

Theres no need for official word. WHM can't use anything from PGL anymore, whereas it can use skills from ACN and THM.

If I want to BE WHM, can i create first an Arcanist to lvl 15 and then change class to conjuror and level it to 30?
