Early Access - Is there a grace period?

Is there a grace period come launch to give people time go get their copies of the game or will the lobby server just lolnope me once the game goes live-live? I won't have access to a PC at launch, PS3 is my only option but it might take an extra day for me to get a copy so I am curious if I'll just have to sit on my hands next Tuesday after early access comes to an end.

They said they will likely give a few days after launch but never said how many.

EDIT: from your profile, you seem to be a 1.0 player, which means you'll have 14 free days from the "welcome back" campaign anyway.

I had a scary thought - What if all the legacy players (me included) who bought PS3 versions to link to our accounts purely for the two bonus items are only allowed to access our pc versions for the duration of the "free" period". The pc client is only available for download for a few weeks apparently. Are SE intending to shaft us and make us pay for PC codes too to play on PC? Will we be tied to our ps3? i know that i never intend logging into my ps3 version!

PC players that have 1.0 were never required to buy the new PC version.

Yeah if you had a 1.0 account you get a free 14 days after launch as a welcome back. If you are new to the game they normally give a day or two to get your code in. Have not seen anything official on this yet however

Thanks for the response. I never did read that thread as I was all set already, being aware of the welcome back campaign, legacy benefits etc. Moving to PS3 was a last minute thing. Glad to hear the early access codes will remain valid for a bit after launch. :)

Does this apply to Endwalker? does anyone know??

Sadly, PS3 players may struggle to log in to Endwalker.

There is a three day period following Official Release where Early Access users have time to find their official release Endwalker codes to put them into the mogstation.

Console users will be prompted to put said codes in as soon as they attempt to log in post Official Release, while PC/Mac users need to find the codes from their retailers. Steam users already have their codes in their cd-key list for the game, but can't put it in until Official Release.

As for the free 14 days, no that was a special bonus in ARR for eligible 1.0 players, and only at that time. PS3 is no longer supported by the game, and if you are a returner from the pre-Stormblood Era unfortunately you must buy a licence for either ps4/ps5/pc/mac/steam and then tie said licence to your existing service account, or start from scratch.

Well, AFAIK, the benchmark and the full client store character data in the same location (/My Documents/My Games/...), so if you haven't made any alterations, the client should pick up the character data automatically when it updates to Endwalker.

@ everyone talking about PS3 - this thread is a necro thread back from 2013 when ARR released. The original post is asking if they can play the game on official launch (assuming after the beta closed) since back then I think all the copies were physical

The benchmark shares the same folder with the official game. You can use them without doing anything.
