[dev1034] Companies and/or Linkshell Halls (Housing) Idea.

Greetings!

I want to pass along some feedback and ideas for Companies and Linkshells, regarding Housing. Specifically Guild (LS) Halls.

There should be purchasable, instanced zones in which a linkshell or company can purchase a hall/castle/keep/etc. There should be a range of options, from your basic, low priced hall to grand, castle like buildings. The largest being the most expensive, and which will take the longest time to earn. To access these zones, one would simply need to interact with an object either in a city or personal inventory that could transport you to the hall.

These should be purchasable with Gil, but perhaps another system on top of that? A status-style point system earned by companies maybe? Perhaps even tie it to the "level" of your company, if such a system will exist.

There should be a whole slew of new crafting recipes added for such things as furniture and decorations that you'll be able to place in your hall.

Halls should also contain Guild Banks, where officers of a LS/Company can set storage/withdrawl rules for both items and gil.

I am currently uploading a YouTube video of an example of a massive, top of the line guild hall from my guild in Everquest 2. I'm using EQ2 as an example because when it comes to Housing and Guilds, EQ2 has the system down near perfectly. Will post it shortly!

This entire zone is one huge, instanced guild hall. Everything except the marble structure is player made, store bought, or quested for.

This sounds like a fun idea. I'm sure the response right now is that they are working on higher priority systems, but I for one would love to see the linkshell/guild working together for some great shared content.

I'm also all for linkshell quests, levels, taxes, shared storage, etc. :)

Bump in light of the Japanese CMs talking about player housing and the recent CM chatter about Player Companies :D

I really would love a guild hall, it would make me feel more part of a linkshell/company. Like in the Fairy tail manga ^^

I have to admit, these would be beyond wonderful, and nothing gets MMO players going like collaborative interior design.

Bonus points if players can have individuak homes off the primary Company/Linkshell Hall. And lord knows it would be one heck of a boon to the roleplaying community..

I agree that this would be an amazing idea along with seperate purchasable homes within the guild hall it would bring together more team effort from each linkshell as a whole along with providing a whole new market for crafters to create decorations for each hall. I also love the idea of making a status style company system or ranking.

I hope we get that official translation of the post soon.

wow I was just gonna write something like this u got it spot on.. also the seperate housing is awsome too.
Some Ideas to build on upon this thread:
-instead of instanced make it a static hall depending on what linkshell u have active
*since they would be static u must select which other linkshells occupy the other areas. that way you'll be able to see there hall getting built little by little. Like a neighboring system.
-invite people in like in ffxi
-link master and second in command can decorate main hall
-ship dock (puchasable)
-ship
-some upgrades must be crafted by guild (ex/ garden, choco stable)
-the seperate housing can be placed anywhere within the limited area around the main hall.
-seperate housing can also be upgraded

More ideas to add:
1.) All of the linkshell functionality that people have been expecting since release
- Linkshell Administration Options
2.) Have some recipes require the collaboration of multiple DoHs working collaboratively and simultaneously.
- Some of the same Class
- Some using different classes working together
- Can be used to design furniture and other complex structures
3.) Possibly a training area where you can implement mutually agreed upon PvP in an instanced setting (Diorama- Abdhaljsalkdjf)
4.) Instance the housing but, give people the ability to send invites.
5.) Customizable titles for the company/linkshell that can be created by the founder.

It's interesting.. But since now we have the word from a Dev, I don't know if people take this as written down law but I do, but again, now that we have the word that "Public Companies" are still in the works (ala comprehensive future update list), I believe it is a safe assumption that once again, Company owned property / airships are still in the works, at least to the extent of the old development team's past announcements before the reshuffle. I think we'll probably see something about that over the next few months after 1.18/1.19.. What else really can Square do after these patches outside of further 'padding' to the game? What better way.

Guild entrance: You must have the current linkshell equipped to enter, removing it will teleport you out instantly. Entrance is the same as the markets in the city it was purchased.
Guild cost: 150,000,000 gil. Yes it's expensive, but the entire linkshell could save up together to get it bought.
Building appearance: All are indoor, with a window view of the city. Which city it's built in depends on what it looks like both inside and out the window, but otherwise is always the same.
Decorations: can be crafted, won, or purchased. Anyone can add or remove their own decorations, move them around, etc. Guild leader(Linkshell owner) can move only their own items around, but can remove anyone's, with it being added back to the owner's item pool. (either guild treasury, delivery box, or anything else SE can come up with)
Treasury: (If applicable) each person can store their own items in a treasury pool of 50 items or so, but it can only be furnishings. Gil, weapons, and armor can be stored in a shared Guild Treasury, but removal of said items puts a request tag, in which LS Leader or Sack Holder would have to approve before that character would have that item sent to them. No one can request a requested item.
Guild Airship: (doesn't even hafta be usable, but would be awesome) first of all, 620,000,000 gil, so a long-term goal definitely. Can be designed only by guild leader, and can be changed at a later date for 1,000,000 gil. If usable, can fly to any spot that can be teleported by LS Leader, taking anyone on board with them, but not seeable by anyone except those on board. Once the destination is reached, cool animation where whoever the player is sees themselves slide down a zipline, then zones into the destination spot.

I like the Idea of Airships Decorations and Treasury. The decorations and Treasury should be a guarantee. The Airships or possibly Guild boats would be amazing along with seperate housing as myself and a couple others have mentioned but the price should be accumulative. For example the biggest grand hall would be 150mil then it goes down from the to the Most basic being say 10-20mil.

well i think rather than having it cost a certain amount. It being upgradable by bother gil and also by crafting would be awesome. give something the gatherers and crafters can do for a linkshell/company

Yes no need to outprice players so far they lose interest before they even get a glimpse of what it is in the first place.

my 2 cents, it would be nice to have a sort of junk pile, a piece of storage the whole company knows when they put something in it they cant expect to get it back. As such this type of storage would need to have no restrictions on it for ease of use, it would be really detrimental to a crafter if they had to get permission everytime they want to remove a copper ore from it. Either that or have a option to toggle on or off if permission is needed to remove an item from the company treasury.
