Can I change my forum profile name?

I wonder if there's any method to update my display name or delete my current forum account and regist new one?

I just want to change display name (LunaChild) to match my character's name (Belmont Blanc) since my current display name is the name my first female lalafell character in 1.0 but now I've changed my character's gender and name. :p

I took a look around the profile settings and I don't think there is a way.

I don't even think you can change your avatar picture.

same here, i completely remade my character, so if we'll can change our nickname will be cool!

I am sure they will at least add something to change your avatar picture.

Since I wasn't apart of 1.0, it asked me to pick a "display" name when I came to the forums. Don't know how they will do it for existing accounts from 1.0. :x

I am hoping for this change too! I changed my character and my v1.0 characters name so I would like to change my profile name as well.

just put your character name in your signature,its better :)

I wish i could change my display name. This one was created 2 years ago when i made my very first character. ^-^;

Character names are shown on the side right next to your character picture (avatar).

But yeah would not mind if we could change our forums handles.

I would like to change forum name too. I only logged in Open beta with my new character so I didn't have option to choose my original character that matched.

Edit: Probably won't be change. I suggest forum name have smaller print and character name larger print and bold.

I was expecting the forum name to be our main character name, it would have made more sense at least.

I even forgot I used this name in 1.0...

But seeing how they list the character details just below it, I'm not too concerned.

I think you will find that it may not be possible. I just registered my username for FFXIV forum and this is what stated below the username field.

I'm not too worried about my name, I chose it as a forum handle as opposed to anything linked to my character. Though I would have rather liked a different one. Either way, my character's actual name is right below it.

avatars are our main character, so basically we can change our avatar if we have more characters
however, it seems that low leveled characters have some restrictions in posting
i can only post 2 posts with my level 1 character, so i switched to this character now instead

Well guess I am stuck with this casually picked handle for a while, it also doesn't display a headshot in the profile on the left of the screen atm

I went into the forums 2.5 years ago thinking I would be Fiosha in Hydaelyn, for like... til' account do us part.

I probably should have went with a more character neutral name in hindsight, but ah well. Would be interested in seeing a Forum Handle name changer, but will make do if it is not so.

I just created this User name this morning and it gave me a warning that it couldn't be changed. I am guessing you could get support help to change it. And as far as switching your Avatar you just have to switch main character selection.

I find it unfortunate, that we haven't retained the names of our beta forum handles. Mostly so I know who people were, and who not to take seriously. :)

Indeed, I am going to miss the friends that I made at the beta forum. I guess if I am lucky, I will spot their name.

I was asked to pick a forum handle, I suppose it's because it was my first time in the official forums. It did state that once you choose your forum name you cannot change it.

Maybe there will be more options once the new Lodestone is up and running which shouldnt be too long.

When I picked my display name, it said very explicitly that I can not change the name once I have saved it, so I would assume it's a no for you as well.

I would also like to change my forum display name if possible. I was expecting it to be the same as my beta username, but it defaulted to my version 1.0 character name and I don't even plan on playing that character much, if at all. But it's kind of disappointing to not even be offered a choice.

I hope it isn't a mandatory thing. I quite like my name and I am sure if it is up for free grabs it will taken from me almost immediately... I made this name before the whole SAO thing...

I want to change my display name desperately. I no longer want Mecan.. that's old 1.0 stuff. I want my NEW name here now, I don't want to be tied to BS I put in 3 years ago on a NEW forum.

Don't really wanna change my forum name, but this forum lacks a ton of key features. Friend lists, a pm system and unlimited daily posting to name a few.

I'd definitely appreciate the ability to change my forum name.

Would also like to be able to change my forum name. We also really need a lot of basic features many other MMO forums have - this one feels extremely outdated at times and has tons of arbitrary restrictions to it...

From the small snippets I've managed to piece together from the few threads I've come across....

I gather that some users have started a necro war with each other.
Trying to necro the best/worst threads or some such.

The whole forum needs a makeover, the majority of the people use their phones to access the forum and the mobile version is incredibly basic and bland. It’s one of the reasons the playbase use Reddit instead of the official forums

You can't even edit on mobile...

And with that being the workaround to the character limit...
