The Blue & Yellow Club: The Guild of Nakama [Hyperion]

Established January 17, 2012, the Blue & Yellow Club is a guild that originated on the server Istory. After merging with another great server, Mysidia, on March 27, 2012, the BNYC guild found a new home on the server Gungnir. With Final Fantasy XIV renewing itself as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Gungnir's physical server remains in Japan. On June 21, 2013, together the BNYC made the decision to relocate on a North American + European physical server, starting a-new on Hyperion.

Many noticed that there was a post for a guild looking for Leaders, this is the result of that post. This guild will not die guaranteed until the last day of Final Fantasy 14 Online (and maybe even carry over to a new game after FFXIV ends, but that is far into the future!).

There is something for everybody within the BNYC.

The BNYC welcomes everyone, ranging from the "newcomers/returning" group to the "casual sit around and talk" people to the "hardcore raid looting" end-gamers. People of all timezones & languages are welcomed as long as you have the basic English to communicate.

The BNYC aims to be a huge guild with member-capping numbers, asking only a reasonable activity level of at least twice a week. Having an active guild at all times allows events to be scheduled for every timezone.

The BNYC strongly believes in growth. The guild and its members will keeping growing as time passes. Members with experience will always be available to teach those in need of guidance.

The BNYC foundation is based on the Japanese word, "Nakama 仲間". Even though it is only one word, it takes many words to describe it. Friend, Family, Companion, Brother, Sister, Colleague, Compatriot, Comrade, Buddy, Crew, Ally and Gang are a few of the many words that make up "Nakama". The BNYC is a self-sufficient guild where members will rely on their Nakamas for everything. The BNYC will not rely on those outside the guild, but welcomes their assistance.

Within the BNYC there are multiple static end-game "Raid Groups", each catering to a specific timezone or certain times on certain days, The BNYC's Raid Leader in charge of the group makes up the consistent schedule for his/her group. The BNYC does not wait around for interesting events to happen, instead, the BNYC makes things interesting.

In addition to the group of dedicated and motivated Leaders, The BNYC offers many services that allows the guild to operate smoothly (Read below).

The BNYC's website allows:
- An active social news feed on the front page.
- An organized forum system.
- In-boxes for private messages to one person or a group of people.
- One-on-one direct chat while both are online.

The BNYC's TeamSpeak server allows:
- Voice chat rooms for quicker, better, more clear communication with personalities.
- Text-based chat rooms.
- One on one direct chat while both are online.

In-game Linkshells allows:
- The BNYC chat rooms within FFXIV.

The services listed above are only a fraction of the total services within the BNYC.

Began Final Fantasy 14 Online with the Collector's Edition on September 22, 2010. My experiences as a Leader and Member in various linkshells prior to the BNYC; Social, End-game, Small tight-knit ones, Large ones etc…gave the skills and confidence to become the master of my own guild. I began playing Final Fantasy XIV on 1.0's launch day and after a rough start on Fabul ended up rerolling on Gungnir several months later. Shortly after the server merge I joined with somewhat low hopes, but was extremely happy to have discovered such a strong willed and friendly group of people. Quite refreshing for a game which, at the time, had a horrendously negative stigma attached to it which seemed to drive away all but the most stubborn of players.

My experience with MMORPGs is indeed limited compared to some of the others present. Prior to FFXIV most of it came from cheap free to play games. Still, that does not mean that I take my duties to the BNYC lightly. More than anything else I want to see this group thrive, and will assist in that by remaining impartial and fair in both my judgement and amongst conflict, as well keeping an open line of communication at all times for any concerns. From the newest recruits to the founder, I simply want us to succeed at whatever our endeavors may be.

To be honest, as long as everyone knows how to be nice, behave and work together I don't see the problem with that. Also the leader is a great person.

Hi,

I'm looking to join your Company.
It sounds very close to what I am looking for and I'm willing to start my journey along side you.

Currently I'm what one would describe as a friendly casual player but when I find the time and the mood I'm up for more challenging content, as much as possible (not intruding on those who are dedicated to a certain activity much more than I am, I have no entitlement issues).

I've started playing MMOs a long long time ago, and my first true MMO (played it for over 3 years) was Lineage 2, oh the memories, and while it was a very lackluster mmo in terms of content, it was my first experience so I didn't know better and had a great time. (lovely graphics and animations ^^)
I won't count UO days, in those days I spent more time on dialup trying to connect than actually play... ugh, I regret not being able to play it more back then, I only ended up with a large phone bill more than anything else.

I've gone through a plethora of free mmos (in between the paid ones below, never could stick to one F2P mmo, they all fell apart for me sooner or later due to the monetization system that ruined the experience) and paid ones. Between the P2P, I've spent the most time with Lineage 2 (3 years) and WoW (4 years, a lot of on and off) followed closely by Tera (6+ months), Guild Wars 2 (3-4 months) and Final Fantasy XIV (over a year, on and off). It might not add up but mind you I've played them intertwined with each other on and off.
I've also pretty much tried most p2p mmos that appeared in the past few 6 to 7 years (outside the ones mentioned above).
I've never lead a guild but I've been pretty active in a few.

I do not wish to approach FFXIV with an overly ambitious onset, I do not want to "go to end game and do some hard core raiding !!!", no, I'm in it for the journey, for leveling each class or job as I see fit or as my friends need them, and as I feel motivated to do so. To play with others on epic journeys with patience and understanding, no great pressure but with the constant ambition to get better as I go along. If there's something waiting for us at end game, all the better, more adventure for hardy adventurers.

I have played FFXIV since beta but I haven't gotten very far but I did play a lot but not in a very organized manner. (no active linkshell)
I played well over a year and my heart hurt when I saw so much wasted potential.
When they announced 2.0 and I saw what Naoki Yoshida wanted to do I rejoiced (NY was the main reason FFXIV gained my vote of confidence even after the initial letdown).
When closed beta started and progressed to part 3 I was amazed of what they did and now I can not wait to start my journey, preferably along side people I can resonate with.

My character will be the one you can see in my forum avatar (Legacy), hopefully I will be able to transfer it quick to where you will have this Grand Company if you will have me.
I say "it" because it won't be a she, it will be a he, not Vyndel Farstrider (my original character) but Daeran Farstrider (if no one nicks it), and I will make him either Miqote male or Hyur Midlander male.

I'm on GMT+2 time zone. (Bucharest/Romania)
I've been using vent/mumble (even have a personal vent server) since forever and I'm an adept of voice communication for ease of coordination and not having to interrupt my actions to communicate something.

I'm open for more discussions as you see fit.
