Roleplaying Communities in Sargatanas?

As the thread title suggests, this thread concerns roleplay communities already established in Sargatanas or planning to be moved/started there upon ARR's launch. I was wondering if anyone has any info on the RP community there? I already know of the talk of Balmung. At present I am considering both Worlds for possible transfer and the answer to this question will help greatly in determining my next action. Thank you. :cool:

We can be special fwends. Even if you join in with the dramatic hardcore roleplaying on Balmung (do you still have to pick a side?), there's always the Duty Finder for cross-server action!

But to be fair, all the *best* people live on Sargatanas...

There are going to be a lot of people on Sargatanas who I wish to see often, including you Mjollnir!

I would almost say that my mind is made up, but there is still a lot of time until launch.

I really do enjoy roleplaying, although I think on video games I am more into roleplaying the comic relief.

I also recommend Sargatanas! I'm happy we were the most packed at the end of 1.0 but at the same time I'm not now because I have SO many friends in linkshells transferring over here so don't want it to fill up XD. I think I saw some role playing but with so many new people coming, wouldn't surprise me at all if our server introduced RP :D

If you're really into roleplaying, definitely you want to stick with balmung, most of the role-playing community is there. I like roleplaying myself, but I really haven't met anyone else who like to roleplay in-game on Sargatanas.

I do have an RP backstory for my character though, and personally you don't need other players to roleplay with. There are NPCs, and I wouldn't think less of you for talking to them. :P

Also I've met quite a few people who are what I like to call "subliminal roleplayers" or "closet roleplayers" who do things like hang out in the miner's guild like it's a bar, or do video diaries of their characters. Also I know a lot of people that roleplay on their lodestone blog, even if they don't roleplay in-game (myself included).

I do things like hang out in places where I think my character might go and I do have conversations with the NPCs, despite the /confused emotes I get from strangers. He he. Yes, it is pretty easy to find a way to roleplay. I just know that I didn't make many friends on Ragnarok and I didn't feel at home there; that is why I am looking elsewhere. I know that a lot of people that I like are on Sargatanas, and I know that I like the server name (this is important to me for whatever reason lol), so I am thinking that, that is where I'll go. If I can find one or two people willing to act silly with me, that is fine enough to me. And I could always start a roleplaying community/LS. At any rate, I think I'll hop between Balmung and Sargatanas on two different characters, with two very different agendas. Dilemma solved! :D

I don't exactly roleplay full on but i try to stick to my characters personality when i can.

I am looking for an RP group on Sargatanas as well. I went through all of 1.0 with no RP friends and really want to remedy that for ARR as I think SE has really set the stage for some interesting backstories. It also just makes the game more fun when you're with a group weaving their own narrative into the storyline. Please let me know if you start a LS or know of one I can look up. Thanks!

If I do create a RP ls/fc or similar, it will like be under the moniker, "The Crystal Dreams" or "The Crystal Dreamt", "Dreams of the Crystal", "Dreamt in Crystal", etc, etc...I tried this on Ragnarok 1.0 with little success, but I know more people now, including all of you, so I imagine I will be more successful!

As for backstories, I should really consider one more closely for Hestern Nestern. I had one in 1.0 but it has since slipped my mind. Hmmm. *tilts head*

I like your idea of bringing a RP linkshell to the server! I expect many people to join XD

I wrote a backstory for my character in Sep '10 and maintained a blog for about a week before I stopped playing (in floods of tears). When I got back into the game in March last year, I didn't pick the blog back up.

I think it's going to be fun to at the start of B4 though. Be happy to join your linkshell too Hestern! Um... weirdly, it's looking like it might be Lalafell only..?

Yeah, I noticed that as well...are lalafell players just BORN awesome or something? Probably. :p

Hmm backstories. If I DO end up making a male Miqo'te, my time as a midlander will all have been an illusion. Either that or it was a magical disguise I had to wear to keep people from flipping out that a male Miqo'te was walking around when there otherwise were none. Either that or a glitch in Louisoix's spell changed my race.

I didn't use my 1.0 character almost at all in Phase 3. I wonder if the one-time appearance change is ever addressed in the dialogue.

Marvelous, it sounds like I will have plenty of people to roleplay with in Sargatanas! Huzzah!

Actually, I really like the first two options for your character's backstory -- the illusion one and the magical disguise one -- neat improv!

As for the one-time change, I kind of suspected that the "fogginess of memory" disabling the NPCs from clearly remembering the appearances of the Warriors of Light was kind of the explanation for us being able to change...I also kind of figured that when we were sent away, we became PURE aether, and thus when we returned, we returned in the form CLOSEST to our SOUL's configuration, which for some people meant looking different from before.

Or something. *tilts head* I don't really know. :p
