I got a screenshot of before they "reveal" his name in a battle. And his name is "Handsome Stranger." All I said was,

Oh God, this game is going to make fangirls giggle their selves to death even before the game launches...

Since the NDA says I can post images now of phase3, I'll post it in the morning for you ~~stalkers~~ ~~obsessed women~~ lovely ladies.

If you're referring to the "flashback" cutscene, those two girls are actually the same two we saw Thancred "pick up" in the ver 1 Ul'dah opening. The last part of that flashback scene actually overlaps with the original opening, where Thancred says "And where in this marvel of a city might you lovely ladies be staying?" The animation of the girls is exactly the same as well. Only watched the new Ul'dah cutscenes so far, but I'm assuming every city-state storyline mirrors this. I don't think she meant so much that she was actually curious who they were... I think she meant she'll scratch their eyes out the next time she sees them. :x

I've never met Thancred until this Beta because I've never elected to start in Ul'dah. Did so for this phase for a change of pace. I assume he's just the Ul'dah storyline? I really don't recall having any of these CS before. I'll be back in Gridania for launch, but in Beta, it's the only option we've had, so a lot of people have had enough for a lifetime.

So, that level 15 quest, yeah. Finally he arrived and saved my little THM butt! Would have really liked him to show up faster....but I forgave him!

I would love to see side stories of the main characters, that resolve around them. Let us know them a bit better.

That's kind of what I did.

Although I'm Maelstrom, I still started in Uldah because that means my circle of knowing associate will be Thancred.

Y'shtola? Not even remotely interested. Yda and Papalymo? You gotta be kidding. Thancred (aka FFXIV's version of James Bond)? Ooooooh yeah. <3

Who knows, I might even go Immortal Flames if it means more quality time with Mr. Sexy Bard. :)
