I think the point I was trying to make is you shouldn't have incomplete sentences as topic titles. Don't sucker people into visiting your thread, if it's interesting enough people will just visit it without having to be compelled by gimmicks.

At first glance I thought it was a giant telescope, possibly scanning for enemy weaknesses (or shooting laser beams hah). Would've fit better for scholar imo than a giant hand cannon... In the end though, books will probably fit best anyway.

(shrug) Speak for yourself. I didn't mind at all. Besides, you can't really sucker someone into visiting a thread. Either they want to look or they don't. I personally think the way the thread was set up was actually kind of funny. (and depressing, since I can never have a huge canon as a scholar :() Just my humble $0.02.

Well, considering my thread was only created in good fun, and the fact that books have already been decided for scholar (I think), and no matter what I personally believe, I cannot dictate which weapon Scholar will be given, I would hope no one would come into this thread looking to take it seriously. It's not like little ol'me has the power to change the minds of the developers. And the fact that you should get enough information from what I put in the title to tell you that this is not a serious thread, but a thread intended to spark a little humor in these forums.

You can't be sure until you click. Maybe you have the ESP required to tell, but I don't. It could have been a legitimate discussion, or it oculd have been humor, or it could have been trolling. Not saying a sniper rifle specifically is a good idea for an MMO, or a cannon for scholar, but Arcanists in 1.0 dealt with dangerous contraband, including mechanical weapons. Have you seen Urianger's tea-kettle staff thing? That's the original ACN weapon. I was pretty bummed they settled on books after seeing that, although it does make more sense with FFTA in mind.

And really, Al, was it necessary to rain on a fun thread? These forums don't get enough positive energy as is.

A Cannoneer class -> Scholar job would make more sense to me than Musketeer would. Slow, long range, wide radius blasts sounds more like a tactician's weapon. Especially with the Cannoneers trademark of shot effects such as healing, buffing, debuffing etc. Also <3 BOF3.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! You should remedy that! Breath of Fire 3 is an excellent game and has aged really well! Even for as old as it it, I still go back and play it occasionally! Rei is def my favorite character ^^ We need more characters like him in the Final Fantasy series.
