Nda partially lifted???

What the title says. i kinda don't understand. reason i am trying to figure out what this means is i am a twitch.tv caster and was hoping to cast the beta. if i cant thats fine just wondering what it means.

it means that some aspects can be discussed in public, while some cannot.

In phase 2 beta, the NDA has already been PARTIALLY lifted, so I am allowed to:

• Admit I am in beta.
• Discuss Character creation features.
• Discuss content that is found in the Old Gridania zone.
• Discuss content that is found in the New Gridania zone.

Nothing additional- which means I am also still not allowed to share screenshots, audio or video from ARR.

I hope that clears things up.

Here is how non-disclosure agreement will work in Beta Test phase 3:

• Information will be free to post. Everything is open and you can post freely about any aspect of the beta test and your thoughts on it.

In regards to images and video in Beta Test phase 3:

• You can post images of phase 3 (no images from Alpha, phase 1 or phase 2)
• You cannot post audio or video.

We will be making a more detailed announcement before the start of Beta phase 3, but I wanted to share this general overview now.

I liked but I know not everyone is going to like this. I have friends who don't have a good PC and don't have a functioning PS3 at the moment and really want to see the game play from unscripted ( notSE promotional) play through.

So, that would rule out streaming on twitch. Noted. Thank you.

Under Square Enix's rule, at what Frame per second do they consider a screenshot to go from a screenshot to video. In other words if I were to show someone one screenshot every 5 seconds for one hour , would that be considered video?

Screenshots don't have "frames per second"s. Just 1 frame. Infinite number of seconds.

If you want to find a loophole, go right ahead. We've warned you that it is not advisable to undermine the NDA, and They would have every right to enforce a breach if you attempt to cheat the system.

So go right ahead and test SE, to find out how far into the gray area is black.

Run the risk? Post the loopholed example, then post the link here for us (and the dev team to see). Play the roulette and get banned... cause if you stream or post a -video- you most certainly run the risk.

If it's animated, you pretty much got yourself a video.

Just stick to one static image per shot. I'd also avoid making a video slide show of those images just to be safe.

Thanks Bayohne. This is great news to hear.

You cannot make a video about screen shots.

It was clearly stated no video or audio containing FFXIV:ARR content is allowed..

Since I do not get an answer on the "other" forums, I'll ask here...
There seem to be rumors of people who got banned because they posted cropped or cut phase 3 screenshots. Is this true?
Is that Copyright logo from the left bottom corner a must have? Is it okay if it's smaller due image hosting sites automatically resizing the picture?
I'm pretty curious about this and hope I'll get an official answer.

But... doesn't that mean we're not allowed to create signatures etc. without putting the legal notice on it somewhere? :S

So uhm... What if I uploaded stuff on like my photobucket album (which has no disclaimer etc. of SE) but then put the links/pictures on here?
Now I feel like I violated the rules x_x

Edit: Mainly, because I couldn't take proper screenies in 1.0 due the lack of a "Scroll lock" key on my keyboard...

I dunno I think this applies to only Beta Screenhots.

I am feeling horrible right now.
My screenies which I took had to be cut unless I wanted the interface on it. To share them here or with friends, I uploaded them to my photobucket album which has a password on it (but I think that doesn't matter...?).
From what I understood, I am not allowed to use a cut picture as an avatar on like Skype, right?
