im pretty sure it is going to be Arcanist also. First class having two job options.
why? ACN [Debuffer/petclass] , SMN [pet class specialist], SCH [debuffer specialist]
scholar often is described in Final Fantasy as a mage with debuffing skills and sometimes also a mage that uses whm and blm skills (banish, dia).
and well.. think back about 1-2 years where they removed skills like Bio, Paralyze, Banish, Scourge etc. from THM.
what? that they wanted to re-introduce these skills on a brand new class/jobs in ARR
scholar being traditionally a debuffer mage.. this is where SCH comes in and fill this gap
Thx I was reading on that other thread as well and while I guess that makes sense. I don't think I would like it that much cause doesn't that mean i could get my SCH to lv.50 and than have a lv.50 SMN without ever playing it and not know how to properly play that job? XD ehh guess just wait and see lol

After 4 years, you become a Scholar, but nobody will invite you.
You have to do the Job quest to unlock the spells which is from 30+ so you learn how to play the other job pretty simple by doing that. Also we talking about a casual game here where you could simple do some F.A.T.E and guildbehest and learn how to do a job pretty quick and the dungeon are super easy.
Learning how to play a job is not that hard i don't see the issue here. It's not like a endgame FC going to allow you to play a new job with just AF and not knowing how to play it. lol top of that dungeon are super easy i don't see it be hard at all to learn new jobs.
I see your point tho i know people want to level up from 1 but there going to be loads of class to do that :)
If they decide to do a second job class then they will need to reset the lvl for every job. So for example, if I unlock summoner and level it to 50, my arcnaist will also be 50, but if I switch to scholar it will be 30 again. It should be the highest level that matches with the class... it would be too easy if I only need to level one job and get the other to max level too....
Yeah. Since almost every MMO out now offers different specs for every class and SE seems to intent on streamlining ARR, it makes sense. SE won't offer talent trees, so offering different specs via jobs would work well, too.
Thaumaturge can become a Black Mage or a Necromancer. The Necromancer can play similar to pre 1.20 THM....which was awesome and felt like an entirely different class than the post 1.20 THM.
