Woot, I wonder what the area at the end on, and what was the dragon at the end? Could Fafnir or Niddhog have crossed the void to Eorzea?

OH OH OH! Did you guys notice:

A: The Ro Female had long hair!

B: The guy at the end was WALKING with his weapon drawn! :D (I was actually a bit vexed when I couldn't do that in 1.x)

This is honestly the most amazing MMORPG video I've seen in a long, long while. They did such a wonderful job in redesigning the world that I honestly shed a couple tears.

It takes every other MMORPG on the market and anything coming in the foreseeable future and rips them to shreds with ruthless abandon.

As much as I am excited, I'd rather see a lot more NEW models instead of more HD revamps of FFXI enemy models. Guys.. I've been fighting that same effing crab for nearly 15 years now COME ON

Man the PS3 footage runs like crap. XD.
I can't imagine playing with 10 fps when things heat up but by the looks of it, that's how the ps3 will be.
Hope they optimize it a bit more.
Not that I really care because I run on a 2x 680 system lol.. But for their sake. :)

I really would love to see footage with this, only WITH MAXED SETTINGS @ 1080p.
Also I wish they wouldn't compress the video, upload the raw footage.
It may take hours but the end result is worth it.

No, I can tell though just from being 36 years old, doing 3D animation, video and playing so many games, I know what FPS they are at in the current video.
I can see it starting to lag on the ps3. That means they just hit the 30 fps boundary.
That is before they are even in any kind of large fight, with lots of effects going on.
When that happens I guarantee a massive drop in fps.
From 30 fps, every single fps you loose, makes it look unplayable.

I wouldn't worry to much about it.
They will almost certainly optimize the game better for ps3 or change some settings before release.
I can't imagine they wouldn't.

If there is no (Super maxed) video footage of this game at beta, I am taking some.
Raw footage files with maxed settings and uploading them.
Can't believe we don't have 1080p footage or any uncompressed video of the game yet.
It makes all the difference in the world of what we see, in terms of quality.

Might take hours to upload but again, it is sooo worth it.

PS: I really do not want to fight more tiny crabs, who get stronger and stronger in different zones again. I always hated that in FFXI.
Same can be said for any mob who did that.

The part at the end sent chills down my spine.. I'm getting too excited. This game has RUINED gaming for me. I don't want to play anything else except for this. My PC is collecting dust, my PS3 hasn't been turned on in MONTHS.. I just go home and look at the same pictures and videos I've already seen just anticipating this game.

People are just exaggerating because the PS3 frame rate is lower than the PC running at 1280x720. Hopefully they'll be able to lock it at 30 for the release version.

The redesigned zones continue to amaze me. La Noscea and Thanalan are both also looking incredibly varied and interesting!

I had instant and excited goosebumps the moment Limsa came onto the screen (accompanied by its new BGM theme)... totally loving Soken, Yoshi and the entire Dev Team even more right now.

That was my exact thought. As soon as it started flying away I was like "monster hunter~".

PS3 footage looks fine. Anyone who was expecting it to run as smoothly as the PC version was kidding themselves from the very beginning. It's a huge improvement from how absolutely terrible it appeared in the first tour video, and honestly I don't think anywhere near as many primarily console gamers will be bothered with it as we are. As PC gamers we've gotten accustomed to a higher level of performance, but for others that may not be the case.

I do hope they present the option to cap it at 30 FPS on PS3 at least, as suggested earlier in this thread. Would help to make it less noticeable. Played through 1.0 on a 5670 which chugged the game along pretty badly, so that was a great help when it was patched in.

I'm in agreement that the music in the video is fantastic. Great job, sound team.

My diagnosis: You are suffering from FFXIV ASAP (acute separation anxiety psychosis).

Recommended prescription: The only thing that can save you from FFXIV ASAP is, ironically, getting your hands on FFXIV:ARR ASAP. The longer you go without medication, the more severe the pain could become.

P.S.: I too have FFXIV ASAP, and the second Exploring Eorzea video has only made it worse. Hopefully we can get our prescribed meds soon so we can call ourselves survivors of this dreadful affliction.

Really loving the amount of work going into the environments! Especially since 1.0 was copy/paste the same templates for miles. I know I'm going to be spending a bunch of time exploring and enjoying the scenery when the game comes out. ^^

Nidhogg already exists in our plane. Could literally be any dragon though. Would love to see a dragon like that spawn and not be engaged for a certain amount of time then take off like that.
