Seems like the official ffxiv page got another update.
Information about the beastmen(with screenshots) and primals. Although Shiva seem to be missing among them. I'm guessing for a good reason.

Her absense is quite interesting. Especially since she very clearly is under development.
Woo, first in-game screenshots of the Sahagin.
I wonder if Leviathan will be available at launch? I was under the impression only Ifrit, Garuda, Titan and Ramuh would be.
I'm actually kind of doubting any Primals will be availible except for the ones we already had, maybe plus Titan. The amount of content at release is going to be a lot more abreviated than many people are expecting I think. It will still be far more than any other MMO has at release (by virtue of being able to borrow content from 1.xx), but I suspect we're going to be mostly seeing CC, AV, DH, Ifrit, Moogle, Garuda, and Titan still, plus whatever story bosses are added (these are what I'm most looking forward to honestly).
hmm... So, who will have Shiva? some northern beastmen still hiding under surface.
i think 'Primal' only means god of beasrmen. so odin, bahamut, and moogle king should be call other name tho.

especially, he's in the middle...

v their screenshot should use a better resolution or a better machine to take it...
The pictures of the camps looks amazing cant wait!!!
Remember that Leviathan had been scheduled to be released as well as Titan but both were cancelled because of the quake and tsunami incident. So who knows they may have had some left over work to make use of in 2.0. Maybe Shiva will have a presence in Thanalan? so far currently we have the Ixal and Sylph being involved with Gridania. The Sahagin and Kobolds being involved with Limsa. But Ul'dah only has the Amal'ja to contend with?
Also... those Sahagins are so cool! i was beginning to worry what would happen to them!
Yay, we finally have a confirmation that Ramuh is the Primal of the Sylphs. Not only that, but it seems like he's not as crazy as the other Primals we have encountered. I wonder how that'll play out.Quote:
Lightning given sage form, Ramuh is venerated by the sylphs.
Though depicted in legend as a wise and benevolent elder who harbors ancient secrets, Ramuh is a merciless arbiter of those who would defile the sacred depths of the forest, striking down interlopers with fulminating bolts of lightning.
I don't know... sounds like he might be the type to judge every one as naughty on his list!
I'm more interested in Titan. It sounds like he may be significantly more receptive to the plight of the Spoken.
The primals are the gods of non-"humans" - that is, anything sentient besides the playable races (who worship the Twelve). The Moogles, just like the Sylphs, fall under that category. The Dragons do as well, because they are intelligent enough to worship (which sort of implies sentience), and we have yet to learn about Odin's followers.
I'm wondering if Good King Moogle Mog will remain as the Moogle primal. He always struck me as a dev joke, but I hope he's still a primal.
Black Sylphs...
Exchanging chlorophyl for Ramuh's blessings, maybe?
Tonberry and Dragons need Primals, but which one?
Dragons would clearly worship Bahamut I suggest, but ...
I would say a Tonberry King, that would fit in with FFVIII's rendition. However, looking back at the gelmorra ruins. What looked like crystalized Tonberries and the crystalized Valigarmanda(tritoch)/dragon in that cave. Valigarmanda is green... wouldn't not fit with the Tonberries.
We can easily say rumors became true...

NATALAN in winter!!
Poor poor garuda... she will be an annoying neighbour :p Who will be the first lady?? I bet on Shiva... Ice > Wind :p
Spoiler Alert!
Remember in 1.0 during the ifrit Cutscene when Ifrit got mad that we were following our own primal or something and not him, but our primal was never revealed. Perhaps the primal we get the power of the echo from? (If they still choose to use this route). I guess Odin would be a good primal for non-beastmen, although it wouldn't make sense associating the echo with him, meh. Also, NEEDS MORE ALEXANDER! He is by far my favorite summon in all of FF.
Edit - Or perhaps Atomos = Echo, forgot about him. He's probably mad that we beat him up 100000000000 times though during the event :P
If Sylphs are considered beastmen with their own primal, I would think Moogles with Good King Moggle Mog XII should also be included in that list. It feels incomplete without it.
The Sahagin are also looking really cool. I'm also glad to see there's some color and size variation in them:

So many mobs are only differentiated by their names/weapons. Curious if size is different by age, subspecies or rank.
Also... have we ever seen purple sylphs before?
The echo is a power granted by the Lodestone, it was said by Fernehalwes sometime ago if i remember correctly.
There were no purple Sylphs that i know of in 1.0
Are we sure the Mindflayers were born that way? Judging from the FFXI version, they're probably just deformed humans. In fact I'm willing to bet that they were once naughty little Lalafell who forsook the Twelve.
Mindflayers... Lalafell!? only ancestrally due to the devolution from Lalafell to Human! but as we are on the subject you'd accept the possibility of Odin being their Primal? They both have blue eyes and as you say they're probbably deformed humans. I mean what caused their transformation? Sylph and Ixal changed pretty radically once they began to worship their Primals.
I'd be careful there, for all we know you may have to eat your words =P
Odin in XI grants demonic powers to his servants. Mindflayers are demons and as we both know, XI they were blue mages/the races turned demons. So it's not as far fetched as you or i might think.
FFXI Odin's power doesn't necessarily transform people, though. And the Mindflayers were BLU who lost control of their inner-monster. They're infused with monster blood, after all. So FFXIV would have to release BLU before any of us become flayers.
Edit: When I say "humans" I include all of the races. Hyur are only the less-bizarre division of humans.
