So this question came to me today whilst i was doing a bit of writing.

There appears to have some differences. The minimum known is that Lalafell can go for at least a century
i wonder this too be cool to know.
I know there a npc lore that talk about high elezen. Which mean elezen are half i would think they live longer them humes maybe around 120year or more.
But that just my guess i love if a dev told us :)
I'm just imagining a surrounded lalafell, Dalamud Horn on, head narrowed down, looking side to side and scraping the ground with his foot like a bull as the aggressors slowly back away and form an exit path with no sudden movements, lol.

I'm sorry, but mage doctors have their limits...

This is something I've wondered for a while both in XIV and XI, in both games the only elderly characters I remember seeing are humes/Hyurs. Characters of other races that are suppose to be old never actually seemed to look it. It would be interesting to know the rate at which the races mature as well.
Actually, it was my understanding that the galka were the complete opposite - that they actually had a greatly extended lifespan compared to humes in FFXI.
For instance, during the Bastok quest where you have to lay a bouquet at the memorial for the labourers who built the Palborough Mines several centuries beforehand, a surviving member (a galka) is revealed to still be alive and well in the game's present (the human quest giver is the grandson of the galka's best friend who also died in the explosion), plus during the quest to gain your Ballista License, if you happen to be Windurstian, the Ballista Captain for Windurst mentions the Galka called Invincible Shield, a famous Galkan general of the Crystal War, is a "thousand-year-old gutbuster" (that's a literal quote from the game), although she might have just been exaggerating, I still took it to mean that the galka are very long lived.
Yes, I know that had nothing to do with FFXIV, but it's likely because the galka have long life spans in FFXI, their counterparts in FFXIV (ala, the roegadyn), would probably be very similar I'd imagine.
This should totally be implemented in the game too! A lifespan!!
Once your character reaches a certain age they die. (Get deleted from the server)
As well as having to eat and drink regularly so you don't die!
ultimate immersion!!!
Add also cannibalism of other characters and token Miqote suddenly takes on a whole new meaning =) .... feeling hungry for a miq'abob now!
Now that we've had some time to joke around... I'd like to bring this back around.
To get a serious answer to this question, we have to ask it in a certain way. As Ferne has said, temporal passage in-game is bound by Simpsonian Physics (20 years later, Bart is still in 4th grade, Maggie is still a baby, and Jasper, despite being in a nursing home the entire time, is still fit enough to dole out a paddlin'). In-game characters were created to be a specific age, and that is the only age they will ever be aside from anchored existences in echoes because, despite there being a "passage of time" in game, it's basically like a cumulative Groundhog Day. Once the lights go on, it's always the same year thereafter.
Therefore, we need to ask about a singular number or formula that applies theoretically.
What is the average life expectancy of each race?
(and if they're this thorough: +/- non-extraordinary variation or gender differences)
Example
Lalafell: Between 125 and 150 Eorzean Years, average 135, females live about 10 years longer than males
I could fix that but i might get in trouble =x
I agree totally Moose!
*ahem ahem ahem ahem*
Oh ye Great and Powerful Ferne! Lord of the Lore and Enlighten...er of the masses, please guide us, thy humble servants in our quest for enlightenment! Guide our minds and grant us the knowledge we seek! Just how long do the races live?
*HUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMM*
*Cue the choir of Monks*
Anyway, just to throw it out there, I"m guessing Hyur's live as long as Humans do ~70-90 years. Miqo'te prolly live a similar lifespan. Elves always seem to be ALOT older than the Humans, Lalas live I'd guess 150-200 years (shorter if they become footballs), Roes, I have no idea.
I always imagined Miqo'te were fairly short lived, around 40 to 50 years at most. Not a clue what a Roe's lifespan would be.
Moose's previous post got me thinking though, what if we get Echos that showed us NPCs or even ourselves at a younger age? I've only ever seen Hyur children, so I supposed they'd have to work out what children of the other races look like, but could be interesting. It would be a perfect way to very subtly slip in the existence of a card game :P.
I'd really like to know the general lifespan of the races as well!
Some of the kids that hang out in the Carpenter's Guild are Elezen. Damielliot (the Alchemist Guildmaster's son) is also an Elezen.
Apart from the Elezen's lifespan being longer than everyone elses, we don't know much more. The Lalafellan example of how they've been running a bar for 80 years makes me think they might be in the second running though.
The Galka go through a reincarnation process, so it's not unlikely that the Galka you mentioned has gone through this a few times. They don't retain their memories, but the Talekeeper does. Then again, I don't remember that quest very well. I do distinctly remember Gwynham Ironheart (the hume explorer) remarking in one of his monuments that the difference in lifespan meant a different perspective on life.
Edit: My mistake. I looked up the text for the monument here, and it leaves that line very open to interpretation. Either he's saying that Humes have shorter lives, and therefore less time to think, or both races have short lives. Likely the former, because even though they don't retain memories after reincarnation, one Galka man could potentially go on for eternity if he is fed and protected. A Hume will only last a century at most (assuming they're the same as Humans).
Judging how a lot of Roegadyn lore and culture has that "ancient" feel, I wouldn't be surprised if they live longer... if they don't get killed in battle.
The Galka easily live for over a century. Jabbos from the CoP story line is evidence of that as he's lived with the moblins for at least 100 years:
http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Jabbos
The Tale Keeper's memory only goes back about 500 years worth, but it's implied Galka live around 250 years in several Bastok quest lines. If we build off some things, Goomba in the Bastok Story line is about 20 or 25 in present day Vanadiel, and he's still a child. Jabbos most likely joined the Moblins as an adult, so he would have been somewhere around 50 or 60 when he joined. After 100 years, he still looks young, at about 150 years old. So it goes to make sense of the Vana races, Galka lived the longest of all.
I think that Roegadyn probably have more normalized life spans of maybe 80 to 150 years.
I would think Miqo'te probably have similar life spans to Hyurs, if not potentially shorter. Cats live between 15 and 30 years. I would make my guess that a Miqo'te, especially as groups of nomads and hunters have dangerous lives, so most probably don't even live to die of old age.... They would probably live to around 60 on average.
