Do you think they need to input race specific stats or ability ?

Hello all,

I think it would be nice if we had a little something that would separate races from them beside cosmetics.

We don't need a huge stats difference, but anything that makes the races selection different would make your choose more dedicated if you really know what you are going to play as main and there will always be jobs that you will love to play more than any others.

Even if its an ability, example every race has a different buff that enhance each different stats with a 10 mins cooldown while it would be active for 2mins.

I'm just throwing out ideas but where we could see:

Roegadyn Sea Wolves - Increase MAX HP for 2 mins to all party members.
Roegadyn Hellsguard - Increase VIT for 2 mins to all party members.
Miqo'te Seekers of the Sun - Increase AGI for 2 mins to all party members.
Miqo'te Keepers of the Moon - Increase DEX for 2 mins to all party members.
Lalafell Plainsfolk - Increase MAX MP for 2 mins to all party members.
Lalafell Dunesfolk - Increase INT for 2 mins to all party members.
Hyur Midland - Increase CHR for 2 mins to all party members.
Hyur Highland - Increase TP Regain ( Small amount ) for 2 mins to all party members.
Elezen Wildwood - Increase STR for 2 mins to all party members.
Elezen Duskwight - Increase MND for 2 mins to all party members.

If you would have two same race in a party the buffs wouldn't stack each others.
But again, this is only an example, it could be anything else, maybe an unique ability or a little stats difference.

After playing several MMO/Games with racial bonuses, I prefer to not have anything that makes me feel I have to pick 1 race over another cause the racial is just alot better etc.

I want to choose the races I want to play. But if its something purely cosmetic, I wont mind.

No i rather keep race specific stats/abilities out of this because it would seem like it would force you to choose a specific race

I think this is a terrible idea, which is why they got rid of it (mostly) for FFXIV. Your race shouldn't be tied to what job(s) you may or may not want to play now or in the future.

no, i do not want this at all. this is a game trait that is fine if the game limits you to playing one class per character, but in a game where you can play all classes on one character i think it would be stupid to add.

This has been beaten to death 100 times and the answer is no. The game already has slight stat variations between races. That is as far as it should go. People should pick races by appearance not stats.

In a game where you can play any class at any time, it would be bad for any race to be good at or not good at a particular job.

Although we had race specific bonus in 1.0, it was very limited (1 or 2 points in two stats, if I remeber correctly). In my opinion it should have close to NO effect IG, I do not want to play lalafel and I certainly do not want to be said I cannot play BLM cause I m not a midget.

As stated in many, many, MANY past posts asking the same thing; No. Seriously, just how many times does it have to be repeated that people DON't want racial traits forcing people to play certain races?

Personally I like differences in stats and stuff like racial abilities adds some differences between races. I played a few mmos that had this and I still picked the one I liked the looks best. Since usually its not enough to make a difference.

It's just gonna keep happening until release. And even after that XD, but I digress. As stating on the front page, including racial abilities/stat bonuses would be rather pointless as the base stats for each race are adjusted to incorporate these features. They are just slight boosts or drops in stats to differentiate the races without it affecting actual game play.

i remember we had differences in grand company equipment and people got pissy off that, im pertty sure the same thing will happen if its your character.
