PS3 code and "Playstation network" / "Square Enix" account understanding.

I'm sorry for posting this Thread. I'm not even sure this is the right place for this.
But when I was reading Reinheart's Translation (JP to English) thread. A interview with 4Gamer mentioned something about the PS3 code on your PSN account.

My borther wants to play FFXIV:ARR for the PS3 when it's released, and I want to buy a PS3 copy so I can play on the PS3 too. But I don't know if he will need to have his own PSN account? We share the same PSN account and buy w/e games we want so we can both play them.

I didn't know if all you needed to do is have the PS3 code in you SE account to be able to play on a PS3, or if you will need to link it up with a "one" PSN account. Meaning he will need to make his own account to play on the PS3.

I dont mean we have our own PS3's, we live in the same home and share one. I ment I could be playing on the PC and he plays on the PS3, or maybe I play on the PS3 and he plays on the PC. That kind of thing. I don't mean to play on two PS3's.

I'm pretty sure you can't log in the same PSN account in multiple locations at the same time, but I might be wrong. In which case, being able to play together won't be possible, especially since you actually need to be signed on to access the internet. It's not much bother making another account though.

It would also mean that, in theory, only 1 person would have to buy the PS3 version of the game and than everyone who wanted to play could then use that 1 account. It just wouldn't work.

In 1.0 every time you log in on other IP it lock your account and you have to change the PW not sure how that going to work in ARR.

But if you both want to play at the same time then you need your own Code.

This shouldn't be a problem. You can make multiple PSN accounts on 1 PS3.

He can't just put the PS3 code into a SE account like for a PC?

since we're connected to SE server, it doesn't matter what PSN acct are you on :| i think...

Yeah he might need to get his own PSN account. When I played the XBOX360 version of FFXI I could only link one XI account to my gamertag and needed a 2nd one to play on an alt account. I think the reason for this was so you couldn't use another persons character for achievements lol.

So All I need to do is just make him his own PSN account in order to play FFXIV:ARR on the PS3.

The games you buy/download from the PSN can be accessed by any PSN account created on that PS3 so you should have no problem if your bro creates his own account on that PS3. I have multiple accounts on my PS3 and have no problem with other games. As for XIV, since it links SE account to PSN account might want confirmation from reps/tech support.

I'm sorry, Truth be told Sony is not my native gaming area, grew up on nintendo. (not that I only like nintendo! I like both of them 50/50)
I'm just having a hard time understanding this. The SE and PSN thing is too much for my brain... ;_;
Although I think I understand it now if what you and Steve say is correct.

Unfortunately unless a dev posts(which is unlikely) about it any info we post here is all heresay. No one knows for sure how it will work.
