For a while I have heard that ff14 has very easy leveling. Is this referring to how easy it is to pl someone? Since it didn't feel very easy to level from 25 to 30 solo as war on my first play through.

Wolf Camp / Natalan XP powerleveling.
Any class/job from 1-50 in less than 10 hours.
I see. So it was due to the pling. Thanks.
well, happy news for you (and most people) 2.0 has removed pl and have level sync instead ;)
Basically what everyone did was. There was a PL camp for each level range, you invited a high level they would round up a bunch of mobs you kicked them from the party he would then kill the mobs and you got full exp, reinvite him and repeat. You did this from 1-40, once you got to 40 you go to the wolf camp with a warrior, and a whm, or have a bunch of people sub cure but the war usually didn't need much healing then you were 50 in about 2 hours.
People would wait around for 1 or 2 hours when making a wolf party trying to get a warrior. The reason for getting a warrior to come was because they could spirit bond, but yea basically leeched 7 other people to cap in almost no time at all.
Makes me miss the Fatigue system.
Nah, once you got past level 40 you had an easy time just being in normal parties, but pling did make things alot easier. At the start of 1.18? pling was actually more broken because level 50s in your party could stay in the party and you would get the same amount of exp. I actually took 2 of my alts characters from 1-50 in a weekend and got another class up to level 40.
It was mainly partying but most people didn't party pre-30 atleast on my server.
I could go 30-50 in less then 5 hours in a decent party. The few pre-30 parties I did get too me from 10-30 in a couple of hours so if one were to play and have good party luck you could go 1-50 in a single day.
2.0 does not eliminate power leveling. Level sync is simply an alternative.
In v1 leveling solo through leves was also very fast... Especially after your first job to cap. You'll usually end up not using them for weeks on end and find you have 99 available. Nothing close to Raptor or Wolf parties, but you didn't have to wait for anyone or stand around to find reps 20 minutes in.
The rewards from them kept your gear repaired and allowed you to buy NQ level appropriate gear all the way through. Was a pretty good system actually.
Heck I did leves behest and kobolds solo and got 50s that way. Was fun. But I did pl friends from time to time.
Well this is good news considering ill be coming back with 0 lvl 50 jobs (i slacked, i know) Maybe i'll be able to hook up with a decent LS when someone flips the switch back to on.
Excalibur here
Well, there was a time when we level up by behest....
i miss 16man grind parties so much. that system didn't give you any exp if you yourself didn't cast and do moves. you couldn't not afk, could not leech or pl people that way at all. that is a truely awesome system that they should of stuck with and just fixed the broken parts to. the game was broken but the leveling system and crafting alone was good enough for me to stay till they fix the game, and then they destroyed what i loved about the game. sad ...
Wyyote, there could not have been a better gif. Seriously.
I don't see what the issue is. Level-grinding is just a time-waster for people to participate in certain fun events. After I took Warrior to 50, I was looking for any way to speed my Dragoon and Monk to 50 too because all I really wanted to do was Primals and other endgame content. It was too fun.
I'm a boss fight fanatic. I just want to get levels fast so i can go have fun battling bosses.
It would if that were the only way to powerlevel..
The previous system in 1.XX was same. There were many types of PL.
/partycmd leave and then AoE Kill...
Or you could have a WHM stand back and Sacred Prism + SS or regen , toss Aerora/Stonera on mobs from another party (or BLM... any job that can easily AoE and kill lots of mobs)
Or how Doc Mog's video showed a 42-50 PT "power level" the 42's to 50.
So.. Having XP break off if level spread is too high.. yea. Gonna say it won't break PL.
Just like Shougun says. In 1.23, you had a few ways to lvl compared to ARR and PLing was the quickest (if Wolf camp wasn't taken). In ARR, they are adding Level sync, FATE events and the lower than 45 dungeons (they are for leveling). I expect the dungeons to be pretty popular since you can upgrade your gears and get good exp at the same time.
You were actually able to kill other people's mob too (even in Alpha... killed quest mobs for a random player I came across).
I got all my jobs solo doing guild leves from lv.1-50, it took me about a week for each job. I would consider that very fast leveling. PL'ing just made it that much faster, I consider PL'ing cheating, so I have never and will never PL in any MMO, but that just me.
I will never get over that. Yoshida-san promotes an atmosphere where, if someone thinks you're worth the time, you can be sped to usefulness to spend time with the people who think you're worth their effort... and they decide that their teammates' progress is worthy of this shortcut... so they PL all the jobs... and then get on the forum and talk about how fast leveling is. You weren't leveling, Goober. You were leveling up by powerleveling.
I wholeheartedly support the PL system and Yoshida-san's promotion of people assisting friends that they believe to be worth their time. If someone gets PL'd and is too big of a noob to hold their own because of it, there's a perfectly good /toss button. If someone thinks they're worth the time to PL, then someone thinks they're worth the time to teach to do their damn job. I would for my friends.
In 1.23 I was able to play for an hour on my lunchbreak and get a DoW level from a behest and few leves solo from 20-50 (0-20 a lot quicker, obviously). I know that wasn't 1-50 in 10 hours by PL, but I still felt it was really quick.
But then if the game is designed so that DoW/DoM levelling doesn't take a large part of your time, that's fine by me. A lot of folk are of the opinion that reduced levelling time (in comparison to XI) is bad, especially if additional jobs are added to existing classes (and no levelling need occur), but it's a different game... If levelling isn't a major part of that, you just have to embrace the fact! If you love time-consuming content, there's always Achievments. :)
