How to Submit Questions
Prior to the live stream, questions will be accepted in the designated thread on the official forum.

It is also possible to ask questions during the live stream. To do so, please follow the official FFXIV Twitter account (@FF_XIV_EN) and send tweets containing the "XIVLive" hash tag.

Themes
Beta test and the official release

Questions will be forwarded to Naoki Yoshida who will attempt to field as many questions as possible, and to the best of his ability.
* Please note that the audio will be available in Japanese only.

To Our Alpha Testers
In accordance with the non-disclosure agreement, we request that you do not ask any questions based on information that could only be obtained by those who have played the Alpha Version. This includes alpha test specifications, technical details, developer comments, and so forth.
Those of you who are unavailable to view the live broadcast, never fear! All the questions and answers will be posted on the official Twitter account in real time. Furthermore, a Q&A summary will be released via the official forums shortly thereafter.

Yoshi stated that he would announce the date of the beta start in his next letter, then said that he would publish the next letter while on the US, and the live letter is on the 22, I think we can assume beta will start next Monday, on the 18th, so that during the live letter he can stream live from the beta like he did on the alpha.

Or so I hope.

ya that make sense i forgot that they be a letter release sometime this week i was thinking the 22 live letter would be the one that he say about the release date.

Now That I think abut it, it's 3:40 in LA right now, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Yoshi posting at this time, but we may get the next written letter of the producer in a few hours when h wakes up and before departing to San Francisco, or maybe while he's on the move.

My guess is beta can still be released in the end of this week so people can play through the weekend. Releasing at Monday is dumb. So it would be either Thursday or Friday. And I am still waiting for the damn benchmark >_<

Things seem way behind schedule. My guess would be beta start is pushed to March.

Good grief we'll be lucky if this game comes out by the fall.

Well better coming later than come out incomplete and fail again. If you rush things nothing good will come of it (as we saw on 1.0 launch and recently diablo 3 too).

Beta announced in the Regular Letter coming this week ( Beta will be before the Live Letter, that way The live letter can Feature the Beta). Also, I feel when they say "Themes: Beta test and the official release" I feel that Will be playing a Beta and him showing how good things are coming along and he'll give a "Projected" release date.

That is also a possibility! I would love that better than getting it earlier than that. It would feel that much more Memorable.

I love how all you guys are jumping to the conclusion about beta being postponed till March. It's only 2/12! Not even "middle of the month" when they said it was going to be scheduled for. We have a regular letter and a Live letter coming still. They are out marketing for the game. I'm betting either they are going to release beta this coming Friday or like noted by a previous poster, at the end of the live letter they will have Yoshi press the official beta release button. Have a little faith in them guys.

Hate to tell you this, but February only has 28 days. Since 14 is half of 28 and it is almost the 14th that means we are almost halfway through the month. According to a scholarly report I just read done by Oxford, it is widely accepted that another word that can be used for "halfway" is "middle." So according to my research, in 3 days we will have passed the middle of the month and will be moving towards the end of the month.

Middle of the Month ( in this case February) at least to me is Now to the 20th. The last 8 days is "end of the month".

I get the feeling Yoshi-P will have to be there in Japan to oversee the launch of beta. And since he will be focused on the media tour and won't be back until at least the 21st (because the live letter isn't until the 22nd, the day after) I can't imagine they would start beta until he got back to Japan. So I'm placing my bet on either the 22nd or the 25th.

Maybe after the live letter, as he said 'What will become of the broadcast?' :D

Sure, that would be awesome. But I think I'm going to go on the cautious side and expect the beta at the end of the month or March. That way if it's not then I can be delightfully surprised and happy, as opposed to ragingly disappointed if it's not in by next week.

Well, it's okay to think it's going to happen on later than what they are saying. However, given that there is a Letter coming this week ( probably tomorrow) and He arrives back on the 21st, and everything they post for like 2 weeks now they keep saying, " Were on the Finalizing stage blah blah". If it goes longer than 1 month then they were even on the Finalizing stage when they said they were.

Point is, I feel that it's coming sooner than you think. If for some reason it doesn't well... you know your days closer till it actually happens :P.

I don't think any amount of delays would've made Diablo 3 better.

It's possible. I don't particularly mind though, I'll try not to play it too much because Phase 3 is when I'll really go crazy.
