Will this feature be implemented in Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn?
Old Threads:
This was in 1.0, I don't see why they would remove it.
Same way you could hide your main hand. It would only be visible if your character drew their weapon, and putting it away would keep it hidden so you don't have to look armed all the time.
I never messed with off hand commands, so I can't remember that being an option.
You can hide your main hand outside of combat, but can you hide your off-hand?
And just to clarify, is the OP asking to hide the off-hand at ALL times or only during combat?
EDIT: Since he linked the thread about the shields poking through armor, I assume out-of-combat.
Well... Why not, then?
^^What he said.
Next time, clarify better what you mean, OP. I figured you meant just hiding what's in your off hand. I didn't figure you meant showing it in battle, since you didn't make your point clear. I guess there's nothing wrong with hiding your off-hand out of battle (though, to be honest, I have no idea why one would want to do that either. lol)
What I really want to hide is the quiver from the bow.
I rather have the ability to unequip my weapons.
I'm sorry. I assumed people on Final Fantasy XIV Forum had played the game till the end. Anyway, it was implied that I was speaking about Display ON/OFF command as it was in Final Fantasy XIV:
/display main hand off
Your weapon is hidden on Passive Mode
Switching to Active Mode makes your weapon to pop up
I would just like to see implemented the command Display Off Hand ON/OFF, so that you can hide weapons and shield when out of combat.
Display ON/OFF commands already exist, and they have only an aesthetic function, but they apply to Main Hand and Head leaving your Shield out. I would like to know if there is something in plan about this, or nothing will be touched. (I am not discussing if it is useful or whatever)
You could do /display oh on/off in 1.0
It worked in exactly the same way as mh.
For example with "display oh off" a PLD in passive stance has no visible shield.
But it became visible if that PLD went into active stance just the same way as the display mh option worked.
Are you sure? I tried it many times in the past and it never worked.
Looking at Macro Tab through Lodestone i can see this:
It doesn't seem to work with other slots than Head and Main...Quote:
Toggle the display of gear in the head or main hand slots.
>>Gear Slots:
main (valid in passive mode only), head
Pretty sure.
I remeber one time a party was asking me if there was any reason why I was planning to tank coin counter without a shield.
Then when I hit active and ran at him there it was.
Edit:-
Patch 1.19 Notes
Just to verify it workedQuote:
•The following subcommands have been revised as follows:
main → mh
sub/off → oh
I don't understand as a WHM i used to have wand and shield. The shield was in the back and when click on the icon for get in attack mode .. took the shield and wand and when click again the shield go back in my back.DO you mean you dont want to see the shield at all and when go combat display on shield and people see it ??
I never thought that my question could be so much misunderstood! God! I don't know if you have ever tried the /display mh command, but /display oh will work exactly the same. If you need more information about how it worked in the past:
Patch 1.18a Notes (Dev1124)
I understood you simply by the subject line..
I agree, some shields (especially on WHM) clipped with gear and looked ugly... I truly hate clipping, and really hope they have found a solution to stop WHM's AF body clipping when anything is on their back.
The "oh" command was used for macro's. You could not turn off your OH display. It was broken if it was intended that you could.
I read the Patch Notes and nothing about Display ON/OFF command was said. It only says how main and sub/off words were changed in Macro Palette.
I remember it was used in Macro, and I am also quite sure that /display oh didn't work. So would be cool to know if it was broken or it was intended in that way.
I was not sure how it would affect immersion, so I decided to test it.

Personally, I like it better with Display ON hands.
ON topic: Sure, why not. Why not arrows too?
I only want /display pants on/off.
