Yet *another* new font, fancy style

UPDATES:
I've given this font a major overhaul, and the new version is ready for release. Mostly I wasn't happy with the lowercase letters the more I looked at them (too cutesy-curly-q looking instead of smooth and elegant). See below for details of the included changes. Because this is such a major change, I'm still leaving the original version available and releasing the updated version as "Eorzean Cursive" which installs as a separate font, so both can be installed at the same time. All future work will be on the "Cursive" version, "Elegant" is effectively orphaned, I'm just leaving it available as a legacy option.

Change log:
v2.2
-alteration to the newly redesigned j, increasing the ascender and shortening the descender to better match the SE original glyph
-actually remembered to increment the version number

v2.1 (minor update)
-new, smoother glyph for lowercase j
-small alteration to lowercase k to prevent overlap of the descender
-I forgot to increment the embedded version number before closing the program and was too lazy to open it up again

v2.1
-added several new accented characters
-added glyphs for eth and thorn
-revised ! and ? to less curly-cue versions
-added some punctuation marks

v2.01
-Minor changes to punctuation spacing
-Minor tweak to capital OE ligature
-Tweak to eszett (German double-s/sz ligature) to make a more fluid/less angular joining of the component uppercase-S (my choice for long-s equivalent) and lowercase-z, helping to further distinguish it from non-ligatured lowercase-z

v2.0
-Moved file hosting to Dropbox
-Replaced all lowercase letters with new, connecting cursive style versions
-Reduced the cap-height to have less of a size gap between uppercase and lowercase letters
-Gave all uppercase letters a natural slight italic tilt (i.e. even if they're not italicized by the program)
-Renamed to Eorzean Cursive

Having learned a lot making my first font that I posted only a few days ago and spurred on by inspiration from the Write your character's name thread, I had a quick turn around on this new one!

Luckily, I've got just the thing for you, a new elegant Eorzean font with all the swirls and swishes!

It doesn't have quite as many characters included as the other font I created, but given its useful purposes they probably won't be necessary in this one. Any other technical details I'll leave to the other thread (link at the top of this post), and instead I'll end here with preview images:

Seems to be working fine to me... because its on dropbox now though, you have to additionally click dropbox's download button, but the link is bringing me to the correct page in my browser.

Great job on these! I've always been a fan of the Eorzea fonts; I tried using them as the default in-game font but so much of the GUI relies on Unicode symbols that it's virtually impossible to change it and have it work. It was a silly option to offer if it can't be done without breaking everything down to Levequest interfaces.

Hey thanks for the font! I've been looking! (Not really...more like waiting...) :D

This is really exceptional work. Thank you for doing this. In between working on my chancery italics and playing ARR beta, I will be using these guidelines to create some missives. :)

Some new updates added, both here and in the other font but I'm only going to bump the one thread. See changelog in the OP for details. (I also messed around in dropbox so that it shouldn't take you to a page with a blue button first, and right-click saving should now work)

Also, there's been speculation about what my normal handwriting looks like so I thought I'd treat y'all (prepare to be disappointed lol...)

On the left we have my planned dinner menu for the week, originally snapped to send to my wife~
And in the red corner, we have my planning/practice paper for making the fonts~

Such exciting examples, I know, but they were the only things around I could actually find with my writing on it without having to think of some trite example text to write something new. It's neat, clean, and tidy I suppose but not nearly as "pretty" as I think the expectation may have been... :P

I now feel ashamed of my hand-writing.

Original drawing of the glyphs in Illustrator with the brush tool set to a flat calligraphy tip. This does two thing, 1.) it smooths over any unsteadiness I have in my hand to make a more fluid stroke and b.) it creates a vector result so the resulting character is scalable to large sizes without loss of quality, particularly without having to use the pen tool. While in the end I could get a better quality out of the fine controls of the pen tool, it would take so much longer I doubt I'd have finished even 20% of a full font, let alone two of them with revisions.

Anyways, once the glyphs are drawn, I just copy paste those bad boys directly from Illustrator into High-Logic FontCreator and that's where I deal with all the font aspects like setting the metrics and kerning and whatnot. It's kind of a buggy program and freezes a lot (though predictably, so if you remember what functions freeze it, you can try to avoid using them). Also when you close the program the window disappears but the process isn't killed and mysteriously feels the need to tank out to max one of my CPU cores so I have to kill it in task manager... but it's the easiest to use font software I've tried so that's what I've stuck with for the time being.

I figured you would use illustrator or something similar for the actual drawing, I just don't know of any programs to generate actual font files, so thanks for indulging :)
