Beta is here? Mail is not working...

I received a mail from SE called Final Fantaxy XIV: A realm Reborn Beta

But when I open the picture does not display and there is "If you cannot read this email properly, please click here"

But the link don't work either....

Anybody received it?

It's probably the newsletter.

Or you're being phished.

No beta yet, still taking applications. Yoshi is even going on a tour starting the 10th. when get comes back he'll be doing a live letter, i'm sure they'll announce it then

This was probably an email that we got ("junk mail"/"newsletter") announcing beta and inviting you to apply.

hum... it made me excited for nothing... :(

Same here when I saw it a few days ago lol :/

I had this email to and it isn't working for me either. It is from ffxiv-newsletter@square-enix.com so it is not beta invite.

I got the one the OP is talking about also... The "click here" link goes to a uman.eu.square-enix.com.. ? I didn't click it, just mouse hovered to check the URL. I am also not signed up for the newsletter I don't think (I unsubbed a while ago).

Already applied, but I would like the MOD's intervention on this subject to clarify us from these mails.

Good Morning all

I'm not sure if this is the same email you are referring to, but i had an email sent to me labelled the same subject a few hours ago at 23:10pm GMT.

All of the images wont load and i tried to click the link on the email that says "if you are having trouble reading this email click here" it opens up my browser and the page just hangs and times out.

i have my Square-Enix account linked to my work email address, so I've tried accessing it from Outlook on my work laptop, another email application on my phone, and also via a VPN on my home PC.... all with the same results.....no results. so I'm unsure if this is a newsletter or anything else.

I've never had a newsletter that is FF14 related before, usually i have to find out about them via the lodestone. the only emails i ever get from Square-Enix that's FF14 related is when i change my password, or when i was getting emails regarding Alpha testing..

If anyone else has anything to submit or contribute, that would be appreciated as it would seem that i am not the only one with this issue.

mail settings? images blocked? looks normal on my computer but yes it is just the signups and promo video

Think they fixed the source link for the images, try opening it now :) message back if sucessful

Oh now I could see the image! I tried to open again and saw... but that link is to us sign up for beta. WE give the mail, country, birth and apply. But we, legacy, don't need to apply so why they sent us this? Doesn't make sense at all.... To us remember? :|

Anyway I sent, for good or bad....

An explanation from a Dev would be appreciated though.

Well, i accidentally applied before i found out i didn't need to (also legacy) and i still got it, think its a distribution list to all SE account holders to try and raise the numbers, probably haven't got the numbers they want yet :(

It is still yet to be said if this is a scam or not, any who, those of you who are dubious about the email, don't click it, if you want to enrol in the Beta, you can apply via this link

Guys Guys Guys allow images from the @member.eu.square-enix.com domain or if you are using Outlook you might have to add the sender to your outlook contacts and you will see the email in all it's trolling goodness.

A great huge "Sign up now" link along with the new beginning trailer.

Is from SE, so can't be scam. Also the application don't ask you for passwords so... I think it was what Racoosho-Quetzalcoatl said... They don't met the number they wish so are sending to everyone or selected ones to apply. But I don't see the point to send to legacy members if we are already in :x

It is legitimate, it's just publicizing the beta signup to any square enix members (at least EU) mine was from the member.eu.square-enix.com domain, or the members sub domain of the EU square-enix.com domain, or from SE, not to mention the links are all square enix.

lol... he's right, its legit.... for gods sake, i can accept masses of applications from various places around the world for work, but a link to a website for an online game.....wow....thank you Microsoft, you make me feel so secure lol.

Nah the images were broken on the source's end. Without clicking or changing anything (a simple refresh) displays all the images now.

Yap Delsus :x but is stupid to send mail to legacy members. I guess is quicker send to all than deselect who is legacy member.

They displayed instantly on my phone when I told it to allow images, and on my gmail, it was just Outlook wasn't giving me the option to display them.

They have a standard mailing list for the newsletters, when one gets sent it's an entirely automated system, for them to remove legacy they would have to be removed from the mailing list, and put back on, that could lead to mistakes and a lot of time.

Now it displays properly, it had problem this morning it seems

As soon as someone said "the images are working" I clicked off my email and clicked back into it and the images displayed.. so I believe it was the source. Outlook only behaves like this (for me) when an email is in junk mail. This wasn't.

These are boring times for most I would assume (myself included), waiting for the Beta invites :( But they will post on loadstone something like "Now Delivering Beta Tester Acceptance Mails!" like they did for alpha. So to save over excitement moments, I tend to not check my e-mail anymore until I see "Now Delivering Beta Tester Acceptance Mails!" on Loadstone.

^That's all we can do at this point.

It's just about signing up for Beta. I moved on but they should have added a 'sign up now' or such to the title to be sure ^_^

I got a few emails from Square Enix, but it has all been clear in the title for me at least. Like " FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Beta Newsletter"

so its kind of clear that it was a newsletter and not the beta invite. From what i recall from alpha testers emails, if it is an invite the title would mention it at elast =p and so does the forum and lodestone will tell that invites are being send out etc.

Patient :D, although is hard =p. i too want go kill something in ffxiv so bad now lol.

And then here's a thread saying beta is here.
