Possible to update Forum name?

Hey guys,

Just wondering if there is a way to change your name on the forums at all ^^? I have had a look around and can't seem to find anything but I could be missing something, and it never hurts to ask... Plus I will probably be using a different name in ARR too, so could be useful :p

I think you're stuck with it forever.
Wonder what's going to happen once players change their names in ARR.

I do not believe that this is possible.

Their character name on the forum should update but I think you're stuck with your forum name unless you create a brand new SE account.

Yeah the character name will update for sure.

Could have sworn I saw one user with a different name later on from one post to another at some point

If it's that Bastok guy, he was posting from another character, but his forum account name still showed up as the same as his Bastok character.

Yeah, you can switch between character names, but forum name pretty sure you're stuck with it :/

Iirc it was Rau. I swear I saw before their name was "Catapult" and in thier sig is a quote from one of the devs (in goblin speak) calling him "Launchy Tool." I could be mistaken though

I wanna change mine also ; ; Maybe they will let us change our names on here if they let us change our character names.

Catapult and Rau are different people, too. ^^: At least, different accounts.

Just to Clarify...

My Forum name, Catapult, is an online handle I have been using for over a decade. I saw no reason not to use it here and I don't anticipate changing it.

Thal Icebound is also my main character.

No point in changing my name, ppl would still recognize me as that guy that gives yarn away to miqo'te :3

I'm not changing my character's (first) name, but I am glad I used my real (nick)name for my forum name, especially now. I guess that way, it's future-proofed. It's too bad there won't be new XIV forums in which a name change could happen for those of you who'd like it. At least it looks we'll be allowed the in-game character name-change ^^ (keeps fingers crossed).

I've gone by Keith dragoon for over 15 years so i chose my forum name wisely

Because Male Miqo'te didn't exist when I chose mine ^^;;

Edit: I also wasn't married with a wife willing to play XIV with me either xD

That's why it's wise to use a name which represents YOU for your forum name instead of a character name.
Characters come and go, they change gender and class and race, but you will always just be YOU.

Even if I switch to a different main char than Meo in ARR, on the forums, I will still be Atoli :o
But I understand it sucks for people who did it differently and feel kind of sorry for them.
