Question about gear sets

Hello! Just a quick question about gear sets in ARR. (Tried searching with no luck... :| )

I've seen someone say that we will be limited to 6 gear sets in ARR. Is that true?

When they first announced it, I thought we would get 1 gear set for each job and/or discipline.

The exact number isnt decided yet but the 1:1 or around 1:1 was definitely the goal.

There still isn't much info on gear sets, just that they want a lot of feedback on it so that they can change things accordingly.

Alright, I'm not crazy! I try to stay up to date as much as possible. I would have been surprised if I really missed that kind of info. Thank you for the answers.

The 1:1 came from long ago, when Yoshida first started talking about it. "How many" "I'm thinking about as many as there are jobs"

I think the goal is to initially have one for each job and/or class. Maybe that'll expand to 2 later on for alternate gear setups.

The only other thing we know is from a recent translation saying that gear sets are going through some modifications and will be tested during beta 3. I'm thinking that they're going to try to put in the Alias system that was mentioned a while back to where you can basically create the equivalent of a windows shortcut of gear from one gear set into another.

I'm hoping it's more than one gear set per job, like to have a few different sets of gear for some jobs. I have 2 for WAR and two for PLD, I'd like to have some just for town, and some for leves/quests, and others for dungeons/primals.

I've not only got to beat whatever content I'm working on, but I've got to look good doing it.

As long as they have one for each job/class I'm a happy camper. Anything less would be a bad decision specially how the games strongest point is having the ability to play multiple or all classes on one character.

If you have 2 class/jobs that you want to use the same piece of gear your sol or have to manually switch them. This could all change with user feedback of course.

there's not enough inv slots to carry around that much gear.
And if you could have 25 sets; that would be 25 sets that dont take up any inv space.
If there's 6, thats more than enough for the stuff you use the most.
If you wanna equip other sets, is as easy as right click items in inv, to equip gear.

What's wrong with having 25 sets of gear if the game can handle it and it's in a totally separate inventory area anyway?

I remember Yoshi or a dev hinting at them changing as well, and TBH I think this will be the first thing I can think of that they would fix regarding gearsets.
