Legacy Perks

OK so im sure there are tons of posts on the info I DO know. However, I read somewhere that if you have completed the end game story stuff in V1 that legacy members will get some items in V2 that nobody else will be able to.

Is that correct? If so, what items?

I never finished the story line of quests, which kinda sucks but, just want to know what i'm missing out on.

You will get a physical toggle on/off mark of some sort for being at the end of 1.0 - this isnt a part of legacy.

Legacy ingame item:
You will also get a special chocobo with black frosted tips and unique barding.

The only thing that legacy members get come from legacy status itself (it has nothing to do with playing through the story) - the chocobo, the discount, and the "scar/marking" (not sure if legacy or 1.0).

Any player could play through the storyline to get the rewards in 1.0, regardless of legacy or not. Not sure what you heard about, but it might have been the Dalamud Horn, the achievement item for completing the Project Meteor scenario or the White Ravens, the earrings for beating hard-mode Darnus.

If you didn't do the quests you also missed out on the Dalamud Horn (completing the story), and the White Ravens (Darnus-hard fight).

Uhhh, if you beat Darnus Hard Mode (The "final" boss of XIV 1.0), you get his earrings which are pretty nice. Obviously can't get them any more, but you don't need to be Legacy to get them.

Also, Goobbues are Version 1.0 only, but again, don't need to be legacy for that either.

Legacy members get a unique Chocobo for version 2.0.

There's nothing from completing the 1.0 story that Legacy gets over non-legacy. (That I know of)

Cool, I appreciate the info's. I'll be hitting this game pretty hard soon as its out. I'm pretty stoked bout it. Long time FF fan here (even hooked up my nintendo to play my Fav FF game with cecil!)

No. We have the option to keep our old characters and start off with them.

I have too much time invested in Lu to start over. I may make another character to check out the newbie stuff though.

Clearing this out.

- Legacy members obtained their title by paying for 3 months to play in 2012.
- The Main story rewards, the seasonal events items, Goobbues mount and most items received in v.1 will be transferred. No Legacy membership needed (you were there for the Haloween event, you'll still have that pumpkin head mask from 2011).
- Legacy are getting a rebate on the monthly cost to play FFXIV:ARR and a special chocobo mount (picture above in Shougun's post)
- At the moment, there are no more ways available to get the Legacy membership.

I'm sure there will be neat things for legacy members. but they won't be game making. They can't give legacy members a super uber sword that will pwn or anything..
You'll get things like chocobo mount armor and other neat things I wish I would get.. :(

The only thing you could end up with, if you played until the end, that other players will not have, is the Earrings from beating Van Darnus on hard mode. "Unless I forgot something"
Which will become all but useless in no time anyway and aren't game changing in the first place.
Level cap won't stay 50 forever.

Legacy members will also get to put their names in the credits.

I don't know about you, but being named in the credits of the only MMO managing to pull off a rebirth so far is quite something (well, at least we hope it will succeed, don't we). Also, it means much as a FF-fan, too, imho.

I read some of it, but out of a ritual respect for games that I like - I watch all of it. If its not played at the end I just queue it up through the menu screen.

Similar case to movies. I may not read/memorize it all but the first 10 names didnt make the game themselves they couldnt have without their team.

So.. yeah I watch.

Level cap increase won't happen until first paid expansion pack.
I estimate about a year to a year and a half after launch.
Also... only about 1% of the people who played 1.0 have a pair of White Ravens.

Thing is, it sucks when you dont really have a footing in a game such as this. Most of those 1% (if not 99% of them) got those because their LS did it often. Finding a dedicated LS is hard in FF IMO.

Its not like other MMO's that have guild boards, recruiting boards etc so players can easily see which LS will suit their playstyle. That's the only downfall of FF imo

If you're after a linkshell on a particular server, it'd be best to post on your server-specific forums around the time of open beta/release.

Tell people what you're looking for, what your playstyle/playtime is etc and someone will welcome you^^. Sometimes linkshells will post on their server-specific sub forum but other times it's the players that are seeking that must draw them out^^;. You'll find something that suits you pretty quickly^^

For me its seeing content, that is prolly the biggest thing in any MMO I play. Getting to expierence the end game content and lore. FF is known for its amazing lore (at least to me it is) but yea I will def be posting and tbh not even sure if i'm going to stay on the same server since my only character is such a noob.

I know what you mean finding a dedicated ls but for me that not even the hard part. The hard part is finding a linkshell that is dedicated to help all of there members and not the people how do you call it "Who Kiss The Leader Ass" Ya that sum up what type of linkshell i'm talking about :). But i'm sure you have good luck in finding one in any world you go to there always good ls out there :)

well ive got quite a bit of MMO experience so im pretty sure someone will nab me. ugh i want to beta already!!

The other problem is the style of shell. I'm in The Star Onions, which is one of the oldest still-active shells from Lindblum/Sargatanas. We're all a great bunch of people and we always try our best to help everyone in the shell, regardless of level, but we're a social shell at the end of the day. Hard to plan 15 hours of consecutive primal or hamlet runs when it's not an endgame shell.

Ya what i mean is hard to come by but there always a linkshell that help everyone. Unlike most linkshell i had to deal with in ffxi and year back in FFXI. Where the leaders made sure they get everything and the people they like also get it. It's not always the type of shell endgame,casual,event not always matter sometimes it the people who run them. If you find good people and get things done and get rewards for it then that all you need :)

Getting better day-by-day (hopefully! lol)

If you really wanted to start out with everyone on your server at level 1 with absolutely no head start ... you could always create a new character on one of the new servers that will be released. These servers will be restricted to new characters only, for a certain period of time. You could start your own linkshell, or get in one that is just starting out. :D
