Now, we all know it doesn't take too much time to backup a forum, and move all the old posts to a read-only section.

Y-P also have indicated that he has been working on the final preps for beta, new ARR site, etc ...

Those are the Alpha forums going down.

I hope this doesn't turn out as bad as threads speculating the official release date....

Would be nice to think that, but no invites sent out yet, no benchmark yet, no client to download. I don't have my hopes that high that we will be in beta next week or soon after based on Forum maintenance.

it might be better to expect it for mid feb or such :) so you dont get dissapointed every day it doesnt start.
but one can always hope for early start ^^
and the wording of the maintenance thing doesn't really suggest they are taking down the alpha forum, just temporarily. but meh whatever. we'll see in a week or 2, what's going on.

when did they start sending out inv for alpha, and when did alpha start?

I think it was the friday before the tuesday or so that it started. Would love it to be early but nothing ever happens the 1st of the month in the gaming industry. Even Tera going f2p in Feb I bet doesnt mean the 1st.

true, if its out early, that is good, but can expect to get information 1 week before beta starts :)

Well it's more probable that it's 1st week rather than 1st feb anyways. I dont think beta will start first day, just cause it's an maintenance of the forum then.

Agreed, I'd say at best Beta will probably start in ~2 weeks. Safer bet is on ~3, but 2 is the earliest you will probably see it. "Final checks" can take a very long time. Between the benchmark, beta, and forums all getting their shakedown tests at the same time, it could be a while yet.

Wow I figured it would at least be the first day in Feb before someone posted why hasn't beta started yet....

2nd week in Feb is my guess. Hopefully, just in time for me get a nice b-day present in my inbox. (feb 6th)

no one asked why it hasn't started yet ^^

well ok, so it seems people got invites to alpha about a week before it started, so we can maybe expect same here :)
they maint alpha forum, some day later people get inv, and week 2-3 beta starts...sounds right.

Nope, was explicitly told that just because alpha is over it does not mean NDA is lifted. NDA continues until we are told its lifted.

I'm just going to assume Beta still isn't going live until at least the middle of Feb, and if it happens before then it'll be a pleasant surprise.

You guys are a bit too hopeful. The beta will probably come to place the second or third week of february. It could take a lot of time setting up a new forum.

I wouldn't look too much into that. Mid Feb seems like what they're aiming for. Could start sooner, could start later so I'm just TRYING to be patient lol

And by saying you'd be breaking NDA; you already confirmed you're in alpha, which means you broke the NDA ^^

OK so we know Beta is going to be an open invite to all Alpha Testers and all Legacy people and probably everyone who signed up.... so I don't expect secret invites the way there was with Alpha. I expect they will make a big announcement on Lodestone that Beta Test Forum is now open. Then we go to the forum, register, and download Beta. No secrecy. I expect lots of publicity.

The forum should go up around February 4 PST. The Beta Test should start Feb 15.

These dates are based on hints the devs have made over the last two months. I do not remember where they quotes are so don't ask. Last time someone asked me to prove it I wasted a full day reading old posts and never found the quote I was looking for.

They used mid February 中旬 Chyujun which means mid 10 days of the month so I'm guessing 2/11-2/20 but knowing SE... they are about +1-2 weeks so could even get to 2/18-2/25.

Remember though Terak: Alpha was supposed to have started in September and Beta was supposed to have started in November.

So the date is still open to get pushed back.

Actually, it wouldn't be too far to believe that the alpha testers would get into the beta since they would be ones of the only ones to recognize the difference from the alpha and could comment on if they liked how they progressed from alpha to beta. But still this is entirely speculation, I don't want to get hopes up for some alpha testers out there...

Only ones who don't need to apply is Legacy. They didn't mention Alpha testers being grandfathered into it this time until phase 2 or 3.

The only people automatically getting into Beta are legacy members. Alpha testers don't automatically roll over to beta this time.

The invite seem pointless when we know we are in beta but ya i guess they would send something saying go here to download and here to log on to the forums i guess lol.

They could send all the information 2days before the beta start and benchmark would be release sometime close to the beta so seeing how let's say it's going to be feb 1 we have to at least wait for jan 30/31.

I myself think it may be med feb.

It came out today 12:01 PST... I already downloaded it an am playing right now. Soloing new Shiva as a lvl 50 Fisher.

yeah dude, it took me a couple hours to level from 0-50.. but with how quick things move in game now.. it was really nothing... and unfinished shiva dosnt stand a chance against my fishing rod of piety.
