But interesting new things is @6:15, 6:22 and 6:35 Y'shtola, Papylamo and Thancred have odd steampunk necklaces/armbands.

Epic new footage! I'm wondering what's up with the weird goggles-things that the old character's have. And I guess that answers our question about whether or not they were ported. Apparently NO, they were not, but were in safety away from the battle.

I kinda wondered that myself... Maybe they ported with them and just appeared nearby, lol. That or chocobos have better teleporting powers than people do.

The forest is most likely whatever Mor Dhona is now. And where do the chocobos come from when you used to summon them in 1.0? They come from nowhere and go to nowhere

Haha, I loved the bit when the chocobo jumped. They really underlined that bit! ^_^

It's great to have the video in its entirety now. The original opening movie is so lackluster compared to this one. It's clear they're going all out this time, as they need to if they want this to succeed. A lot of epic scenes, which makes me excited about what's to come.

That said, I would have preferred the benchmark, but we should be getting that soon anyway.

The chocobo's probably waited those years for their masters... That's probably why they looked extra happy...

I love how only the CG Midlander's chocobo is the Legacy version. Guess the rest of the party never qualified.

I like the nod to the original intro movie and subsequent meme with Derplander's multiple emotions registering on his face in quick succession!

Did anyone else notice the classic FF Prelude playing while Papalymo, Yda and Thancred were all lookin' sexy? (6:25 of the video)

Besides that, it's pretty neat.

It looks as though that 'Eye' tattoo the 1.0 NPCs have on their sleeves is the "Dalamud survival symbol". I guess we will all be getting it.

Can't figure out the what clock/goggle things are for though..

No, one of the three storylines is going to aswer that. We just came to the new world and have no idea of whatever happened. You don't want a main storyline spoiled by the opening movie, do you?

No, PLAYING THE GAME will answer that. This is merely an intro movie to the game.

So it seems all the players will start off at the meteor then... It seems like there won't be alternate perceptions of the game based on new players and 1.0 players...

This cant be all of the opening, it doesnt clear anything up at all.
I think i remember Yoshi saying that legacy players would get an unedited version, is this what he was talking about?
Abit disappointed, Bahamut/Louis not explained and Odin shows up out of nowhere. SE pulling a Lost or something.

Actually, it was already stated that while brand new players start off at their respective nations, Existing 1.0 players will start off in a special starter area.

Don't make such large assumptions based off a bit of CGI.

Yoshi said something happense after it goes white but this video seems to have ommitted it.

Oh... I see... then I imagine that they released this as fanfare for current 1.0 users and so new players don't totally have no ability to see the 1.0 start...

Hmm, I was actually a bit disappointed.
To me the 1st (old) bit is epic and I loved it already before, but the new bit just seems a bit "just put a bit of everything to it" to me. It should have made me go "OMG NOW I REALLY WANT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT" but it didn't do that.

As a "opening movie" I don't think this play its role very well, but that's just my opinnion (and as we know everyone is a critic)

We have a barber now... so now he can...

At first I was like "doh, it's just the end of an era video extended".

Then I was like "aw, you cute little derplander".

This was after a huge grin lept on to my face to see Y'shtola, Papalymo, Yda and Thancred. Epic characters will be epic.

I'm also one of the people who thinks Louisoux has become Odin, so please excuse me while I start plotting in the corner...

Its more of a Dark Grey than Silvery-white Grey

I loved it! But I was expecting a bit of a shock, as we knew part of the trailer from that one from the Summer, and then the En of an Era shocked us all, I wasn't expecting the same here, but a bit more of surprise.

And now somehow, I don't think Lousioux is dead now. Also loved how all the Circle of Knowing was in the same places they were, so they got forwarded too. Hmmm... maybe we'll found some answers in the crystal structure thing we are shown the derplander and his party go at the end of the video? is that the Labirinth of Bahamut?

Can't wait for mid feb to come and start playing again in the beta!

Looks like all returning players get an exclusive armband?

Keep in mind that white coloured objects (in this case hair) reflect what ever light falls on them, in this case a room lit by candles and other earthy glows. If Thancred now had brown hair, this lighting would make it look even darker again, which it doesn't, which means his hair is still ash-white.
